Corvera de Asturias (Asturian: Corvera) is a municipality in the principality of Asturias in northern Spain. It shares a boundary to the north with Avilés and Gozón; to the east with Carreño and Gijón; to the south with Llanera and Illas and to the west with Castrillón. Its capital, Nubledo, has a population of more than 300 residents. Corvera is the most eastern of the four counties forming the Great County of Aviles. It is situated in the northern-central area of the Principality of Asturias. It is 45.48 km2 (17.56 sq mi) in size and has a population of over 16,000 residents, mainly concentrated in the villages of Las Vegas and Los Campos. Nora River is a waterway in the north of Spain, a tributary of the Nalón River that flows through Asturias. It is one of the longest tributaries of Asturias. Beginning in Valvidares, Sariego, it continues through the concejos of Siero and Noreña. In its final kilometers, it serves as a natural border between Oviedo and Llanera first, and between Oviedo and Las Regueras later. It is located between Priañes (Oviedo), Santa María de Grado (Grado) and Tahoces (Las Regueras). Near its outlet, the landscape is beautiful. The dam of the Priañes reservoir and the hydroelectric power station of the same name are owned by HC Energía. Sofoxo is a cave on the river's right bank; it was discovered by Count de la Vega del Sella. The Roman bridge, Puente del Romanon, spans the river at Pola de Siero, east of Oviedo.

Lugones (in Asturian language, Llugones) is a parish in Siero, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is 5.48 km2 (2.12 sq mi) in size, with a population of 11,646 (INE 2006). It is situated at 159 m (522 ft) above sea level. The postal code is 33420. Lugones has existed since before the time of the Roman Empire, named after the Luggoni tribe, itself named after the Celtic God Lug.

The Trasona Reservoir (Spanish: Embalse de Trasona) is a reservoir in Asturias, Spain across the Alvares River. It is located in the parish of Trasona, in the municipality of Corvera de Asturias. The reservoir is property of Arcelor. Its construction was finished in 1957, with the aim of supply water to the steel plant located in Avilés and to the population of the zone. It is also used for sporting purposes. Near the reservoir are located sporting facilities for canoeing. This facilities were improved in 2010 for hosting the Canoe Sprint European Championships.The reservoir is supplied by the rivers Alvares and Narcea, from this last one thank to the Canal del Narcea, a 27 km channel.
