Unión Deportiva Llanera is a Spanish football club based in Posada de Llanera, in the autonomous community of Asturias. Founded in 1981, it plays in Segunda División RFEF – Group 1, holding home matches at Estadio Pepe Quimarán.

Monte Naranco is a mountain in Oviedo, Spain. The church Santa María del Naranco is situated on its slopes. It is also known as the finishing line for the bicycle races Subida al Naranco and Vuelta a España.

Biedes is one of six parishes (administrative divisions) in Las Regueras, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. The population is 279 (INE 2011).

St. Michael of Lillo (Spanish: San Miguel de Lillo, Asturian: Samiguel de Lliño) is a Roman Catholic church built on the Naranco mount, near the Church of Santa María del Naranco in Asturias. It was completed in 842 and it was consecrated by Ramiro I of Asturias and his wife Paterna in the year 848. It was originally dedicated to St. Mary until this worship passed to the nearby palace in the 12th century, leaving this church dedicated to Saint Michael. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. It originally had a basilica ground plan, three aisles with a barrel vault, although part of the original structure has disappeared as the building collapsed during the 12th or 13th century. Nowadays, it conserves its western half from that period, together with several elements in the rest of the church such as the fantastic jambs in the vestibule or the extraordinary lattice on the window of the southern wall, sculpted from one single piece of stone.

The church of St Mary at Mount Naranco (Spanish: Iglesia de Santa María del Naranco; Asturian: Ilesia de Santa María'l Narancu) is a pre-Romanesque Asturian building on the slope of Mount Naranco situated 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from Oviedo, northern Spain. Ramiro I of Asturias ordered it to be built as a royal palace, part of a larger complex that also incorporated the nearby church of San Miguel de Lillo, 100 meters away. The palace was completed in 842 and had in part a religious function, being consecrated in 848. Its structural features, such as the barrel vault—with transverse ribs corresponding one-to-one with contraforts at the exterior, make it a clear precursor of the Romanesque construction. The exterior decorations, as well as the use of stilted arches mark the intended verticality of the composition. It was declared a Monumento Nacional on 24 January 1885. Along with all other national monuments of Spain, it was classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural in June 1985. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in December 1985.

The Oviedo-Villapérez mining railway was narrow gauge railway with a track gauge of 600 mm (1 ft 11+5⁄8 in). It was just over 7 km (4 mi) long and ran from Oviedo to the iron ore mines in the Villapérez and Naranco areas of Asturias from 1880 to 1916.

Club Deportivo Vallobín is a Spanish football club based in Oviedo, Asturias. Founded in 1994, it plays its home games at Estadio Vallobín, in the namesake neighbourhood.

L'Escampleru (Spanish: Valsera) is one of six parishes (administrative divisions) in Les Regueres, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. The population is 616 (INE 2011).

Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere is a multi-use stadium in Oviedo, Spain. With a capacity of 30,500 seats, it is the 17th-largest stadium in Spain and the largest in Asturias. The new Carlos Tartiere replaced the former stadium of the same name built in 1932, as the home venue of Real Oviedo. The stadium has held three games of the Spain national football team (the city has held seven in total), one game of the Spain national under-21 team and another one of the Asturian autonomous team.

Llanera is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is bordered on the north by Gijón and Corvera de Asturias, on the south by Oviedo, on the east by Gijón and Siero, and on the west by Illas and Las Regueras. Its capital is located 11 km from Oviedo, 20 km from Avilés, and 22 km from Gijón. Renfe, the national railroad organization, has stations in Lugo de Llanera, Villabona y Ferroñes. The municipality has an important industrial sector. There are industrial parks at Silvota and Asipo. There is a penitentiary in Villabona. Lugo de Llanera was founded as a Roman settlement, named Lucus Asturum. It is situated at the fork of the Roman roads to Astorga and Cantabria.

The urban sculpture known by the name of Asturias is located in calle Uría, in front of the railway station, in the city of Oviedo, Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is one of over a hundred sculptures that adorn the streets of that city.The sculpture, executed in coal and steel, is the work of José Noja, and dates from 1991. It was commissioned from Noja by the rail company Renfe, which sought a work of art to adorn the rail station of Oviedo. This large-scale work is intended as a homage to the Principality of Asturias, and so it incorporates materials such as coal that are characteristic of Asturian industry.
