Lytchett Matravers is a large village and civil parish in Dorset, England. The 2011 census recorded the parish as having 1,439 households and a population of 3,424.

Charborough House, also known as Charborough Park, is a Grade I listed building, the manor house of the ancient manor of Charborough. The house is between the villages of Sturminster Marshall and Bere Regis in Dorset, England. The grounds, which include a deer park and gardens, adjoin the villages of Winterborne Zelston, Newton Peveril and Lytchett Matravers: they are Grade II* listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, and have been called the most splendid parkland in Dorset.

Barrow Hill is a small settlement in Dorset, England, situated in the East Dorset administrative district on the A350 road approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Poole. It lies between Lytchett Matravers (in the neighbouring Purbeck District) and Corfe Mullen, though is in the civil parish of Sturminster Marshall.

At the 2011 census the civil parish had 141 households and a population of 323.As well as the village of Morden, the parish includes the hamlets of East Morden, West Morden and Whitefields.St Mary's Church, Morden, was rebuilt in 1873 except for the lower part of the 13th-century tower. East Morden has a pub, the Cock & Bottle.In the north of the parish, Charborough was anciently a separate manor, hamlet and ecclesiastical parish. The Grade I listed 17th-century mansion called Charborough House or Charborough Park stands in an extensive deer park, and near the house is the small parish church, also dedicated to St Mary, rebuilt in 1775 and Grade II* listed.

Almer is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Sturminster Marshall, in the Dorset district, in the ceremonial county of Dorset, England. Almer is located on the A31 road near Winterborne Zelston, Huish Manor, Sturminster Marshall and opposite the Drax estate. The main features of the village are Almer Manor, Almer Parish church and the old school house. The school was co-educational; it opened in 1925 and closed in 1964. The Almer School Honours tablet is now kept in Winterborne Zelston village hall. The seven residential properties in Almer are owned and let by the Charborough (Drax) Estate. In 1931 the parish had a population of 108. On 1 April 1933 the parish was abolished and merged with Sturminster Marshall.Almer Parish Church is dedicated to St Mary and is Grade 1 Listed.

Sturminster Marshall is a village and civil parish in the east of Dorset in England, situated on the River Stour between Blandford Forum and Poole. The parish had a population of 1,895 at the 2001 census, increasing to 1,969 at the 2011 Census and includes the village of Almer (50.78°N 2.12°W / 50.78; -2.12) west of Sturminster Marshall, near Winterborne Zelston and the hamlet of Henbury to the south-east of the village. The village is twinned with the French commune of Sainte-Mère-Église in Normandy. The appropriate electoral ward is called 'Stour'. From Sturminster Marshall the ward goes east to Pamphill, with a total population of 2,582.King Alfred the Great, in his will of 899, a copy of which can be seen at the British Library, left the village to his youngest son Æthelweard (c.880-922). Sturminster Marshall has a 13th century church, St. Mary's. Its predecessor contributed to the village's name; 'Sturminster' meaning "church on the River Stour". The second part of the name came from William Marshall. Until 1857, St. Hubert's Church in Corfe Mullen acted as a chapel of ease to Sturminster Marshall. St. Mary's pre-reformation chalice, dating to 1536, has survived although the stem has been replaced. It is on loan to Dorset County Museum.

Lytchett Heath is an area of woods and farmland on the Dorset Heaths between the villages of Lytchett Matravers, Lytchett Minster and the hamlet of Beacon Hill in the county of Dorset, England. Part of it is a reserve managed jointly by the Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust. St Aldhelm's was built in 1898 as a private church for Lord Eustace Cecil.

Church of Mary is a Grade I listed church in Almer, Dorset, England. It became a listed building on 18 March 1955. According to Arthur Mee's The King's England: Dorset (ISBN 0-340-00079-1), "the embattled tower is 15th Century, and has a fine arch. In a chancel window is much old glass with fragments of drapery, architecture, and fleur-de-lys; the centre panel has bright-hued glass pictures by Continental artists of the days when men and woman wore stiff ruffs about their necks. One window has what appears to be a group of saints, the other has the Last Judgment, with Our Lord enthroned among angels blowing trumpets. A good soul is being rescued by an angel with lilac wings and a blue dress, while a crimson demon with golden horns is seizing a wicked one."
