Buxton Brothers Boulevard

Buxton (Bulgarian: Бъкстон Bakston, pronounced [ˈbɤkstɔn]) is a south-western neighbourhood of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Part of Vitosha municipality, it lies between the Buxton Brothers (Bratya Buxton) Boulevard, the Tsar Boris III Boulevard and the Sofia ringroad adjacent to Boyana.The neighbourhood was named after the brothers Charles and Noel Buxton, British public figures and prominent advocates of the Bulgarian position on the Macedonian Question in the Balkan Wars and World War I. The central boulevard of the neighbourhood is also named after the brothers. Buxton features mostly single-family houses and mid- to high-rise residential architecture from the 60s–80s. It is serviced by Secondary School #2 Academician Emiliyan Stanev, Primary School #5 Ivan Vazov and Secondary Specialized School and Kindergarten for Hearing-impaired Children #2. The Vitosha municipality building is also located in the neighbourhood, and there is a Fantastico supermarket in Buxton.

Pavlovo (Bulgarian: Павлово) is a southern neighbourhood of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Part of the Vitosha municipality, it borders Buxton Neighbourhood to the northeast, Tsar Boris III Boulevard to the northwest, the Sofia ringroad (in this section known as the Nikola Petkov Boulevard) to the south and the Buxton Boulevard to the east. Pavlovo features mostly low - to mid-rise residential architecture, with houses and small blocks of flats dominating the skyline. The 5th Primary School and the 157th High School César Vallejo serve the neighbourhood.

Bulgaria Mall is a shopping mall in Sofia, Bulgaria. It opened on December 1, 2012. It's retailers include both international and Bulgarian brands. The shopping center is positioned at the intersection of Bulgaria Boulevard and Todor Kableshkov boulevard, two major roads in Sofia. The mall was developed as a part of a mixed-use retail and office project, with approximately 130,000 m² of total built-up area (33,000 m² for the commercial area). The shopping center includes four underground levels (parking and a hypermarket of approx. 5,600 m²) and four above ground levels with retail and entertainment. The parking facility can accommodate approximately 1,100 parking spaces. The office portion of the development, which consists of an office high-rise tower and an office building, contains 25,000 m² of area to let. The mall has one of the biggest skylights in Central and Eastern Europe. The owners of Bulgaria Mall are Myles Summerfield and Nikola Yanakiev.

Krasno selo (Bulgarian: Красно село [ˈkrasno ˈsɛɫo]) is a district and neighbourhood of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, located in the western part of the city. The main thoroughfare in the neighbourhood is Tsar Boris III Boulevard. Until 1910, Krasno selo was a mahala (neighbourhood) of Boyana. In 1956, it became a district of Sofia, but it had been a suburb of the city since the early 20th century. The name stems from the common noun selo ("village") and the adjective krasno, meaning "beautiful".After the Second Balkan War and the First World War thousands of families of Bulgarian refugees (mainly from Western Thrace, Vardar Macedonia, Southern Dobruja and the Western Outlands) headed to the large Bulgarian cities in search of a better life. During that period prior to the Second World War Krasno selo, once a satellite neighbourhood, urbanized quickly and accommodated many refugee families, with various parts of Krasno selo today known as the Dobrujan neighbourhood, the Tsaribrod neighbourhood, etc. Architectural elements in the houses of Bulgarian refugees show a nostalgia for their native regions, an example of which is the round tower of a 1929 house reminiscent of the White Tower in Thessaloniki. The growth of Krasno selo was aided by the geographical importance of the western transport corridor leading to Pernik. One of the first tramways of the Balkans, then known as Knyazhevska, was officially opened on 1 January 1901 along what is today Tsar Boris III Boulevard. There is a possibility that a subway route may pass through the neighbourhood in the future. The architecture of Krasno selo is made of mostly residential buildings. The largest portion of residential structures are of the type Soviet era panel buildings. Newer residential buildings date to the period after 1990. These structures are made of brick and are only several stories high. The panel buildings, on the other hand, vary in height from five to over twenty stories. Krasno Selo is home to the Krasno Selo market. The second largest market is in Borovo quarter. Borovo is located at the end stop of trolley #9. The 1–12 grade school within the limits of the Krasno selo neighborhood is 142 SOU. In 2020 Krasno selo metro station was opened as part of Sofia Metro Line 3.

Krasno Selo (Bulgarian: Красно Село) is a Sofia Metro station. It was opened on 26 August 2020 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Hadzhi Dimitar to Krasno Selo. It is located between Ovcha kupel and Bulgaria stations.

Ovcha kupel (Bulgarian: Метростанция "Овча купел") is a Sofia Metro station on the M3 line. It was opened on 24 April 2021 as part of the second section of the line, from Ovcha kupel to Gorna Banya. The preceding station is Moesia and the adjacent station is Krasno Selo.

Bulgaria Boulevard (Bulgarian: Булевард „България“) is a boulevard and key thoroughfare connecting the centre of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, with the southern neighbourhoods of the city and Boyana. The National Palace of Culture is located close to the northern end of the boulevard, as after the intersection with Cherni Vrah Boulevard it continues as Evlogi Georgiev Boulevard towards Orlov most. The southern end of Bulgaria Boulevard is the intersection with the Sofia ring road towards Boyana, after which it is called Daskal St. Popandreev. Neighbourhoods located along or near Bulgaria Boulevard, listed in a north to south order, include Ivan Vazov, Hipodruma, Belite brezi, Strelbishte, Krasno selo, Motopista, Borovo, Buxton, Gotse Delchev, Bokar, Manastirski Livadi and Boyana.

Boyana (Bulgarian: Бояна [boˈjanɐ]) is a neighbourhood of the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, part of Vitosha municipality and situated 8 km south of the city centre, in the outskirts of Vitosha. Boyana is one of the most expensive parts of Sofia to live in. The residents are primarily wealthy business people, government officials and other prominent members of Bulgarian society. Formerly an outlying village, it was incorporated into Sofia in 1961.

The Boyana Church (Bulgarian: Боянска църква, Boyanska tsărkva) is a medieval Bulgarian Orthodox church situated on the outskirts of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, in the Boyana quarter. In 1979, the building was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The east wing of the two-storey church was originally constructed in the late 10th or early 11th century, then the central wing was added in the 13th century under the Second Bulgarian Empire, the whole building being finished with a further expansion to the west in the middle of the 19th century. A total of 89 scenes with 240 human images are depicted on the walls of the church.

The Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science (also as CEEC of Cognitive Science ) at the New Bulgarian University undertakes research in fundamental and applied cognitive science. Research topics include: memory, thinking, language, learning, perception, context, applications to robotics, AI, and cognitive systems, cognitive economics, human factors and usability, education and learning methods. The center is co-directed by Boicho Kokinov and Jeff Elman. The CEEC of Cognitive Science grants M.Sc., Ph.D. degrees in cognitive science and organizes annually summer school.

New Bulgarian University (Bulgarian: Нов български университет, also known and abbreviated as НБУ, NBU) is a private university based in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Its campus is in the western district of the city, known for its proximity to the Vitosha nature park. The university also owns multiple other buildings across the country, as well as its own publishing house and a library. Among the list of NBU Honorary Doctors and Honorary Professors are Richard Rorty, Thomas Sebeok, Wolfgang Iser, Terry Eagleton, Julia Kristeva, Jean-Pierre Vernant, Ralf Dahrendorf, Steve Forbes, Geert Hofstede, Ennio Morricone, Milcho Leviev, Raina Kabaivanska, Alexander Fol, Vera Mutafchieva, Georgy Fotev etc. The mission of New Bulgarian University is to:- be an autonomous academic institution that supports students in their entrepreneurial and personal development. - be a liberal academic institution, based on the link between education, research and entrepreneurship. - provide interdisciplinary general and specialised education, based on theoretical research and practical knowledge. Since 2004, NBU is an accredited partner of The Open University Business School.
