South Hurstville is a suburb in the St George area of Southern Sydney, 18 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district. South Hurstville is in the local government area of the Georges River Council. Hurstville and Hurstville Grove are separate neighbouring suburbs.

It is located 19 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the Georges River Council, in the St George area. Hurstville Grove stretches from Hillcrest Avenue to the shore of Oatley Bay, on the Georges River. It is mainly residential with a few shops located on Hillcrest Avenue. Hurstville and South Hurstville are separate suburbs located to the northeast.

Kyle Bay is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Kyle Bay is 19 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Georges River Council and is part of the St George area. Kyle Bay takes its name from the bay that sits on the northern shore of the Georges River. It is a tiny, affluent, picturesque suburb around this bay and Harness Cask Point. Kyle Bay is surrounded by the suburbs of Blakehurst, South Hurstville and Connells Point. Kangaroo Point sits on the opposite bank of the Georges River. It is 7 km west of Botany Bay and 12 km north-west of the Cronulla surfing beaches. This leafy suburb is graced with scenic riverside parks and reserves including Merriman Reserve and Donnelly Reserve. Kyle Bay and Harness Cask Point are natural formations.

Blakehurst is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 18 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Georges River Council. It is part of the St George area. Blakehurst is connected to Sylvania, in the Sutherland Shire, to the south, by Tom Uglys Bridge over the Georges River. Tom Uglys Point is the southernmost part. The eastern border runs along Kogarah Bay and the western border runs along Kyle Bay.

Blakehurst High School is a Government-funded co-educational comprehensive and specialist secondary day school with speciality in languages, located in Blakehurst, a southern suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1960, the school enrolled approximately 1,110 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom one percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 85 percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education in accordance with a curriculum developed by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority; the principal is Sophie Kapsimalis.

Hurstville is a suburb in Southern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is 16 km (9.9 mi) south of the Sydney CBD and is part of the St George area. Hurstville is the administrative centre of the local government area of the Georges River Council. The suburb is predominantly Asian Australian in character, with 63% of the population of Asian origin, among the highest in the country. Sometimes described as "Sydney's Real Chinatown", an estimated 37% of residents are immigrants from mainland China.

St George Christian School is a multi-campus independent non-denominational Christian co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Hurstville and Sans Souci, both suburbs of southern Sydney, in the St George area of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1981, the school has a non-selective enrolment policy, and currently caters for approximately 850 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, however students that start school at St George Christian School from Year 7 to Year 12 Can only attend the schools St George Campus as the schools Sans Souci Campus is only for Kindergarten to Year 6 Students. Students come to St George Christian School mainly from the southern Sydney region.St George Christian School is a member of Christian Schools Australia.

St George County Council was a publicly owned electricity supply utility in the St George area of southern Sydney, Australia. It supplied electricity to consumers in the Kogarah, Hurstville, Rockdale and Bexley Municipalities (Bexley merged with Rockdale in 1949). It existed, from December 1920, until 1980 when its operations and assets, and those of Mackellar Country Council and Brisbane Water County Council, were merged into the existing Sydney County Council. It obtained its bulk power from the New South Wales Government Railways (after 1932, New South Wales Department of Railways), until 1953 when the electricity generation assets of that entity became part of the Electricity Commission of New South Wales. It was the first of many county councils, which were an important part of the mixed economy that existed in New South Wales, during the interwar and post-war periods of the 20th Century. Of the various publicly-owned trading entities, the country councils were the only significant ones controlled by local governments. It was a locally-owned enterprise, rather than a state-owned enterprise.

Hurstville railway station is located on the Illawarra line, serving the Sydney suburb of Hurstville. It is served by Sydney Trains T4 line services and NSW TrainLink South Coast line services.

Hurstville Central (formerly known as Hurstville Super Centre) is a shopping centre in the suburb of Hurstville in the St George area of Sydney and is located above Hurstville railway station and features a Coles supermarket and around 39 speciality stores.

The Hurstville City Council was a local government area in the St George and southern region of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The city seat of Hurstville is located 17 kilometres (11 mi) south–west of Sydney and west of Botany Bay. Hurstville was incorporated as a municipality in 1887, declared a city in 1988, and abolished in 2016, forming with Kogarah City Council the new Georges River Council.
