Hurstville, New South Wales

St George County Council was a publicly owned electricity supply utility in the St George area of southern Sydney, Australia. It supplied electricity to consumers in the Kogarah, Hurstville, Rockdale and Bexley Municipalities (Bexley merged with Rockdale in 1949). It existed, from December 1920, until 1980 when its operations and assets, and those of Mackellar Country Council and Brisbane Water County Council, were merged into the existing Sydney County Council. It obtained its bulk power from the New South Wales Government Railways (after 1932, New South Wales Department of Railways), until 1953 when the electricity generation assets of that entity became part of the Electricity Commission of New South Wales. It was the first of many county councils, which were an important part of the mixed economy that existed in New South Wales, during the interwar and post-war periods of the 20th Century. Of the various publicly-owned trading entities, the country councils were the only significant ones controlled by local governments. It was a locally-owned enterprise, rather than a state-owned enterprise.

Hurstville Central (formerly known as Hurstville Super Centre) is a shopping centre in the suburb of Hurstville in the St George area of Sydney and is located above Hurstville railway station and features a Coles supermarket and around 39 speciality stores.

Hurstville railway station is located on the Illawarra line, serving the Sydney suburb of Hurstville. It is served by Sydney Trains T4 line services and NSW TrainLink South Coast line services.

The Hurstville City Council was a local government area in the St George and southern region of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The city seat of Hurstville is located 17 kilometres (11 mi) south–west of Sydney and west of Botany Bay. Hurstville was incorporated as a municipality in 1887, declared a city in 1988, and abolished in 2016, forming with Kogarah City Council the new Georges River Council.

Danebank, officially Danebank An Anglican School for Girls, is an independent Anglican early learning, primary and secondary day school for girls, located in Hurstville, a southern suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is a member school of the Anglican Schools Corporation. Established in 1933 by Edith Roseby Ball, Danebank has a non-selective enrolment policy and currently caters for approximately 930 students from Preschool to Year 12.The school is affiliated with the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA), the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA), the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia (AGSA), and the Association of Heads of Independent Girls' Schools (AHIGS).

The Anglican Schools Corporation (TASC) is an independent, co-educational, school system established by the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney headquartered in Hurstville, New South Wales, Australia. The number of schools in The Anglican Schools Corporation group has increased from five in 1995 to twenty in 2016. The initial objective was to establish one new school per year. The school system now contains seventeen schools and is non-selective, and currently caters for approximately 15,000 students from kindergarten to year 12, with plans to grow.

Georges River College Hurstville Boys Campus, (formerly known as Hurstville Boys' High School and known as HBHS), is situated in the city of Hurstville in the Sydney region. The school caters for the educational needs of boys in the area of St. George.

St George Christian School is a multi-campus independent non-denominational Christian co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Hurstville and Sans Souci, both suburbs of southern Sydney, in the St George area of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1981, the school has a non-selective enrolment policy, and currently caters for approximately 850 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, however students that start school at St George Christian School from Year 7 to Year 12 Can only attend the schools St George Campus as the schools Sans Souci Campus is only for Kindergarten to Year 6 Students. Students come to St George Christian School mainly from the southern Sydney region.St George Christian School is a member of Christian Schools Australia.

Hurstville Oval is a multi-use sporting ground, located in the suburb of Hurstville, in Sydney's southern suburbs. Since its opening, it has held various sports at the venue – including Cricket, Rugby League, Cycling and Football. The oval also has a velodrome in the grounds, between the field and the stands. The ground was opened in 1911. Since 2015 it has been one of the home grounds of JLT Cup team Cricket Australia XI.

West Maling is a heritage-listed former residence and now ecclesiastical centre and administration building located at 663-665 King Georges Road, Penshurst, Georges River Council, New South Wales, Australia. Its design is attributed to Richard Norman Shaw who is likely to have influenced its design, and built by Charles Halstead the supervising architect. It is also known as West Maling (Revival Life Centre) and Weigall House. The property is owned by Australian Evangelist Association. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
