Remick Ridge Vineyards is a California-based vineyard and winery owned and operated by the Smothers Brothers. It is a monopole vineyard for Arrowood Vineyards and Winery in the Sonoma Valley. The setting of this viticulture operation is on a ridge of the northern Sonoma Mountains above Sonoma Creek. The name Remick is the maiden name of the brothers' mother. It was established in 1977.

Pond Farm (also known as Pond Farm Workshops) was an American artists’ colony that began in the 1940s and, in one form or another, continued until 1985. It is located near the Russian River resort town of Guerneville, California, about 75 mi (120 km) north of San Francisco. Situated on a hilltop 600 ft (180 m) above the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve, Pond Farm began around 1939-40 when a San Francisco-based couple named Gordon and Jane Herr (architect and writer, respectively) acquired a portion of property called Rancho Del Lago or the Walker Ranch. Initially 250 acres (1.0 km2), their property was later expanded to 400 acres (1.6 km2). Because one of its primary features was a large pond, the Herrs renamed this setting Pond Farm. It includes two small residences and a historic barn repurposed as a pottery studio.

Austin Creek State Recreation Area is a state park unit of California, United States, encompassing an isolated wilderness area. It is located in Sonoma County, California, adjacent to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, with which it shares a common entrance. Its rugged topography includes ravines, grassy hillsides, oak-capped knolls, and rocky summits offering glimpses of the Pacific Ocean. There are 20 miles (30 km) of trails, panoramic wilderness views, and camping (both back-country and vehicle-accessible). The remains of Pond Farm artists' colony (dating from the 1940s) are also included in the Austin Creek SRA.

Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve is a state park of California in the United States established to preserve 805 acres (326 ha) of coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens). The reserve is located in Sonoma County, just north of Guerneville. The reserve is in a temperate rainforest. The climate is mild and wet. The park receives an average of 55 inches (1.4 m) of rainfall per year, almost all between September and June. Abundant fog during the summer months helps to maintain the moist conditions required by the coast redwoods.

KVRV (97.7 FM, "The River") is a commercial radio station licensed to Monte Rio, California, broadcasting to the Santa Rosa, California area. KVRV airs a classic rock music format branded as "The River" (a local reference to the Russian River). Their studios are in Santa Rosa. The station's previous call letters were KMGG, and the station played oldies music from 1986 to 2003.

Rio Nido, California (From Spanish: Río Nido, meaning Nest River) is a small, unincorporated resort community on the Russian River, in Sonoma County, California, United States. It is situated 1.3 mi (2.1 km) east of Guerneville. The town's name is meant to mean "river nest" in Spanish. One account has it that the name was originally the more grammatically correct "El Rio Del Nido", "referring to the nest of an eagle once seen in a tree on the banks of this stream". Rio Nido's unofficial slogans are "Memories That Linger" and "The Moon Is Always Out In Rio Nido".As of 2010, Rio Nido has about 522 residents.

Dry Creek Valley is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) in north-central Sonoma County, California, located 70 miles (113 km) north of San Francisco, 20 miles (32 km) east of the Pacific Ocean and northwest of the town of Healdsburg. The wine appellation was established as the nation's 34th, the state's 22th and the county's second AVA, on August 4, 1983 by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted on behalf of the Dry Creek Valley Association, Inc., a local natural resource group, proposing a viticultural area named "Dry Creek Valley." The name is taken from Dry Creek, a tributary of the Russian River, the primary waterway in the area. The inverted "U"-shaped valley extends southeasterly just east of the Warm Springs Creek/Dry Creek confluence south of Healdsburg and is approximately 16 miles (25.7 km) long by two miles (3.2 km) wide. Historically, the valley traversed by Dry Creek and the surrounding upland area have been referred to by the name Dry Creek Valley. This is substantiated by excerpts of articles from local and national publications written by 19th century and contemporary authors. After evaluating the evidence, ATF determined "Dry Creek Valley" is the most appropriate name for the viticultural area. Approximately 20,500 acres (32 sq mi) of the appellation's 80,000 acres (125 sq mi) encompasses the valley area. The remaining acreage defines the uplands immediately surrounding and to the west of the valley. About 9,300 acres (3,764 ha) of cultivated vineyards are spread throughout the area benefiting from their proximity to the Lake Sonoma reservoir for irrigation in this relatively dry area.

Guerneville () is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, California, United States. The town is historically known for the logging community, formed in the late 1800s. Guerneville is also known for its natural environment, liberal atmosphere, and proximity to wine-tasting and redwood forests. It was founded by the Guerne family in the 1850s.

Cazadero (Spanish for "hunting ground") is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in western Sonoma County, California, United States with a population of 354 in 2010. The downtown of Cazadero consists of two churches, a general store, a post office, a hardware store, an auto repair garage, private office space, and the Cazadero Volunteer Fire Department. Cazadero is the general area from the confluence of Austin Creek and the Russian River at the intersection of California State Route 116 and Cazadero Highway running north to the small town of the same name. The town is approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) from Route 116. Cazadero Highway parallels Austin Creek, which is a principal tributary of the lower Russian River. Located in the Sonoma Coast AVA, Cazadero can also be considered part of Wine Country.

Korbel Champagne Cellars is a winery based in Guerneville, California. Since 1882, Korbel has primarily manufactured California champagne, using the méthode champenoise process. In this process, sparkling wine is fermented inside the same bottle from which it is served. The company is a division of F. Korbel Brothers, and also makes brandy and still wine, and imports Prosecco from Italy. F. Korbel & Bros. is a private company owned and operated by the Heck family. Brown-Forman has handled Korbel's marketing and sales since 1965.

Guernewood Park is an unincorporated community in western Sonoma County, California, on the Russian River, 17 mi (27 km) west of Santa Rosa, and 1 mi (1.6 km) west of Guerneville, just off State Route 116. Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve and Austin Creek State Recreation Area are to the north.
