Cazadero, California

The Cazadero Performing Arts Camp (also known as Cazadero Music Camp, or Cazadero) is a performing arts camp located in the Sonoma redwoods in Northern California, United States. Established in 1957 by then Berkeley High School band director Bob Lutt (who eventually was made executive director of the Berkeley Symphony), the first campers were a mixture of Berkeley High teens and members of the San Francisco Symphony.

Austin Creek State Recreation Area is a state park unit of California, United States, encompassing an isolated wilderness area. It is located in Sonoma County, California, adjacent to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, with which it shares a common entrance. Its rugged topography includes ravines, grassy hillsides, oak-capped knolls, and rocky summits offering glimpses of the Pacific Ocean. There are 20 miles (30 km) of trails, panoramic wilderness views, and camping (both back-country and vehicle-accessible). The remains of Pond Farm artists' colony (dating from the 1940s) are also included in the Austin Creek SRA.

The station is currently owned by Redwood Empire Stereocasters. Educational Media Foundation operates the station under a LMA deal from Redwood, and carries its Air 1 network.

KWVF (102.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to Guerneville, California, United States, the station serves the Santa Rosa area. The station is currently owned by Redwood Empire Stereocasters.In June 2022, it was announced that KWVF and sister stations KZST, K256DA, and K273CU would be acquired by Amaturo Sonoma Media Group for $6 million. The deal was expected to close during the third quarter of 2022.

Austin Creek is a 16.0-mile-long (25.7 km) southward-flowing stream in the mountains of western Sonoma County, California which empties into the Russian River about 4 miles (6 km) from the Pacific Ocean.

Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve is a state park of California in the United States established to preserve 805 acres (326 ha) of coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens). The reserve is located in Sonoma County, just north of Guerneville. The reserve is in a temperate rainforest. The climate is mild and wet. The park receives an average of 55 inches (1.4 m) of rainfall per year, almost all between September and June. Abundant fog during the summer months helps to maintain the moist conditions required by the coast redwoods.

Guernewood Park is an unincorporated community in western Sonoma County, California, on the Russian River, 17 mi (27 km) west of Santa Rosa, and 1 mi (1.6 km) west of Guerneville, just off State Route 116. Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve and Austin Creek State Recreation Area are to the north.

Villa Grande, originally named Mesa Grande is an unincorporated community in Sonoma County, California, United States. Villa Grande is located on the Russian River 2.5 miles (4.0 km) southwest of Guerneville. Villa Grande has a post office (95486) which was established in 1921.

Duncans Mills (or Duncan's Mills) is an unincorporated community located in Sonoma County, California.

Pond Farm (also known as Pond Farm Workshops) was an American artists’ colony that began in the 1940s and, in one form or another, continued until 1985. It is located near the Russian River resort town of Guerneville, California, about 75 mi (120 km) north of San Francisco. Situated on a hilltop 600 ft (180 m) above the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve, Pond Farm began around 1939-40 when a San Francisco-based couple named Gordon and Jane Herr (architect and writer, respectively) acquired a portion of property called Rancho Del Lago or the Walker Ranch. Initially 250 acres (1.0 km2), their property was later expanded to 400 acres (1.6 km2). Because one of its primary features was a large pond, the Herrs renamed this setting Pond Farm. It includes two small residences and a historic barn repurposed as a pottery studio.

Jenner, also known as Jenner-by-the-Sea, is a small coastal town and census-designated place (CDP) in Sonoma County, California, U.S. with a population of about 122 per the 2020 census. It is located on the Pacific coast near the mouth of the Russian River. State Route 1 runs through the town and State Route 116 runs nearby, along the Russian River. Immediately south of Jenner is Goat Rock Beach, a unit within the Sonoma Coast State Beach.

The Jenner, California, double murder of 2004 occurred on the night of August 14–15, 2004, in which a young couple was shot to death as they slept on a state beach. The bodies of Lindsay Cutshall, 22, and her fiancé Jason S. Allen, 26, were found on Fish Head Beach, between Russian Gulch and the mouth of the Russian River, in the small coastal hamlet of Jenner, California. Both Cutshall and Allen were killed with a .45-caliber Marlin rifle as they slept in their sleeping bags on the beach. The Sonoma County Coroner's Office estimated that the couple was slain on either the night of August 14, 2004 or in the early morning hours of August 15, 2004. The case has received considerable national attention, but the crime remained unsolved, until news given at a press conference on May 5, 2017, suggesting that authorities had solved the crime. In 2019 Shaun Gallon was sentenced to life in prison for the murders.
