Drumpellier Country Park

Buchanan High School is an additional support needs secondary school in the Townhead neighbourhood of Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Replacing the previous facility Drumpark School established in the 1920s (the name of which continues in a separate ASN primary school in the town), the school opened on 5 November 2012 and shares a campus with St Ambrose Roman Catholic High School and Townhead Community Centre. The school has over 100 pupils.The Head of School since 2017 is Mr M. McGinley. The inaugural head, from 2012 until 2016, was Mrs M. Fannan who was succeeded by Mrs J. Gilmartin from 2016 to 2017. In 2019, teachers at the school went out on strike to highlight serious concerns over health issues – the shared campus was built on a former industrial landfill site, with the water table observed to be contaminated and discoloured; four teachers developed cancer and it was feared this was linked to the conditions at the school.

Langloan Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Coatbridge, Scotland. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1860 when Colonel Buchanan's Scotland Team played Ireland. The ground held its first first-class match when Scotland played Ireland in 1980. The ground held a further first-class match in 1985 when Scotland played the touring Zimbabweans.The ground is still in use today by Drumpellier Cricket Club.

Kirkwood railway station is located in the Kirkwood area of Coatbridge, Scotland. It is on the Whifflet Line (a branch of the more extensive Argyle Line), 10 miles (16 km) east of Glasgow Central railway station. Train services are provided by ScotRail. The station was opened by British Rail in 1993, and is virtually on the site of the old Woodside Steel and Iron Works. It is located some 250m west of the previous Langloan station, which was opened by the Rutherglen and Coatbridge Railway in August 1866 and closed when passenger trains over the line were withdrawn on 7 November 1966.

Drumpark School was a school for children with special educational needs at Bargeddie just west of Coatbridge in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. In August 2012, the primary department (5 to 11 years) of Drumpark School moved to their new campus, shared with Greenhill Primary School and incorporated into the vacated buildings of Coatbridge High School, retaining the Drumpark name. The secondary department (11 to 17 years) moved to a new campus shared with St Ambrose High School on 5 November 2012, changing its name to Buchanan High School.

Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) using the first-past-the-post voting system. It was created for the 2005 general election, covering the whole area of the Coatbridge and Chryston constituency and parts of the Hamilton North and Bellshill seat. A small area in the eastern side of Coatbridge lies within the Airdrie and Shotts constituency. Traditionally, the area served by the seat and its predecessors was the safest Labour area in Scotland. Its previous MP was Hugh Gaffney of the Labour Party, who gained the seat at the 2017 general election, succeeding SNP MP Phil Boswell, who had held the seat since the SNP landslide victory in 2015. It was retaken by the SNP's Steven Bonnar at the 2019 general election. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to boundary changes which will include the loss of Chryston. As a consequence, it will be renamed Coatbridge and Bellshill, to be first contested at the next general election.

Bargeddie was a railway station in the village of Bargeddie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It was opened as Cuilhill, by the North British Railway on 1 February 1871. It was renamed Bargeddie on 1 April 1904.The station closed to passengers on 24 September 1927.

The Summerlee Iron Works (1836–1930) was an iron works established in Coatbridge, Scotland. The site has been incorporated into the Summerlee, Museum of Scottish Industrial Life.
