Stratton Mountain School

Stratton Mountain Resort is a ski area in the northeastern United States, located on Stratton Mountain in Stratton, Vermont, east of Manchester.

Stratton Mountain is a resort community and census-designated place (CDP) in Bennington and Windham counties, Vermont, United States. Sitting at the northern foot of Stratton Mountain and its ski resort, it was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The southern half of the community, including the base of the ski area, is in the town of Stratton in Windham County, while the northern half, including the Stratton Golf Course, is in the town of Winhall in Bennington County. Stratton Mountain Access Road leads north 3 miles (5 km) to Vermont Route 30 in Bondville, while to the southeast Pikes Falls Road leads 8 miles (13 km) to Route 30 in the village of Jamaica.

The Windham–Bennington–Windsor-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one- or two-member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Windham–Bennington–Windsor-1 District includes all of the Windham County towns of Jamaica, Londonderry, and Stratton, the Bennington County town of Winhall, and the Windsor County town of Weston. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Windham–Bennington–Windsor-1 District had a population of 4,123 in that same census, 1.58% above the state average.

Bondville is an unincorporated village in the town of Winhall, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The community is located along Vermont Route 30, 10 miles (16 km) east of the village of Manchester. Bondville has a post office with ZIP code 05340, which opened on May 23, 1850.Bondville also hosts the smallest and oldest consecutive running fair in Vermont. The first year dating back to 1797. Stratton Mountain is a mountain located in Windham County, Vermont, in the Green Mountain National Forest. The mountain is the highest point of Windham County, and of the southern Green Mountains generally. A fire tower located on the summit is generally open for climbing by the public. There is also a small caretaker cabin (not open to the public) at the summit that is inhabited in season by a caretaker from the Green Mountain Club. The northern end of the mountain is occupied by Stratton Mountain Resort.

The Winhall River is an 18.3-mile-long (29.5 km) tributary of the West River in Windham and Bennington counties, Vermont, in the United States. The Winhall River rises near the western boundary of the town of Stratton near the crest of the Green Mountains. The river flows north, forming the eastern boundary of the Lye Brook Wilderness of the Green Mountain National Forest. It is crossed by the Appalachian Trail along this section. The river then turns east, dropping out of the high ground of the Green Mountains and passing through the town of Winhall. The river flows through the northern corner of the town of Jamaica, then enters Londonderry, where it enters the West River in Ball Mountain Reservoir.

Jamaica is the central village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Jamaica, Windham County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 174, compared to 1,005 in the entire town. The CDP is in northwestern Windham County, in the center of the town of Jamaica. It sits on the eastern side of the Green Mountains in the valley of Ball Mountain Brook where it joins the West River, a southeast-flowing tributary of the Connecticut River. Jamaica State Park is on the West River on the northern edge of the village. 1,755-foot (535 m) Ball Mountain rises to the north over the West River, while 2,093-foot (638 m) College Hill rises to the west. Vermont Routes 30 and 100 pass through the center of Jamaica together. Route 30 leads northwest over the Green Mountains 20 miles (32 km) to Manchester Center and southeast down the West River valley 26 miles (42 km) to Brattleboro, while Route 100 leads north 11 miles (18 km) to Londonderry and south 25 miles (40 km) to Wilmington.
