Winhall, Vermont

Bondville is an unincorporated village in the town of Winhall, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The community is located along Vermont Route 30, 10 miles (16 km) east of the village of Manchester. Bondville has a post office with ZIP code 05340, which opened on May 23, 1850.Bondville also hosts the smallest and oldest consecutive running fair in Vermont. The first year dating back to 1797. Stratton Mountain is a resort community and census-designated place (CDP) in Bennington and Windham counties, Vermont, United States. Sitting at the northern foot of Stratton Mountain and its ski resort, it was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The southern half of the community, including the base of the ski area, is in the town of Stratton in Windham County, while the northern half, including the Stratton Golf Course, is in the town of Winhall in Bennington County. Stratton Mountain Access Road leads north 3 miles (5 km) to Vermont Route 30 in Bondville, while to the southeast Pikes Falls Road leads 8 miles (13 km) to Route 30 in the village of Jamaica.

Stratton Mountain Resort is a ski area in the northeastern United States, located on Stratton Mountain in Stratton, Vermont, east of Manchester.

The Stratton Mountain School is a college preparatory high school located at Stratton Mountain in Stratton, Vermont. The school was founded in 1972 by Warren Hellman and Donald Tarinelli. The current headmaster is Carson Thurber. Stratton Mountain School trains winter athletes with a focus on alpine skiing (including freeski and freestyle), snowboarding, and Nordic skiing. The school has produced 46 Olympic athletes who have won six medals (3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze). Ross Powers ('97) won a bronze medal (snowboarding halfpipe) at the 1998 winter games held in Nagano, Japan, and a gold medal at the 2002 games held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Powers currently serves Director of the Snowboard program.Other Olympic medalist alumni include Lindsey Jacobellis ('03), who won a silver medal in snowboard cross in Torino, Italy in 2006 and two gold medals in Beijing in 2022. Kristen Luckenbill ('97), won a gold medal in soccer at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece.

Johnny Seesaw's is a historic country lodge on Vermont Route 11, near the Bromley Mountain Ski Area in Peru, Vermont. Established in 1924, the lodge was an influential component of the early success of downhill skiing in southwestern Vermont, and is the place where events leading to the founding of both the National Ski Patrol and the United States Army's 10th Mountain Division took place. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, and was delisted in 2023. It is a full-service facility, offering accommodations, meals, and activities in all seasons.

Stratton Mountain is a mountain located in Windham County, Vermont, in the Green Mountain National Forest. The mountain is the highest point of Windham County, and of the southern Green Mountains generally. A fire tower located on the summit is generally open for climbing by the public. There is also a small caretaker cabin (not open to the public) at the summit that is inhabited in season by a caretaker from the Green Mountain Club. The northern end of the mountain is occupied by Stratton Mountain Resort.

The Windham–Bennington–Windsor-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one- or two-member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Windham–Bennington–Windsor-1 District includes all of the Windham County towns of Jamaica, Londonderry, and Stratton, the Bennington County town of Winhall, and the Windsor County town of Weston. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Windham–Bennington–Windsor-1 District had a population of 4,123 in that same census, 1.58% above the state average.

Peru is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 531 at the 2020 census. Originally known as Bromley, the town name was changed to "Peru" by the land grantees as a way of attracting land buyers to an area that had been described as 36 square miles (93 km2) of "trees, bears and mountain lions".

Stratton is a town in Windham County, Vermont, United States. The population was 440 at the 2020 census.

Bromley Brook School was a therapeutic boarding school in Manchester Center, Vermont, for teenage girls who were not functioning at traditional schools. The school was owned and operated by the Aspen Education Group. Bromley Brook was mentioned in The New York Times. In March 2011, Aspen announced that the school would close at the end of the 2010–2011 academic year.

South Londonderry is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Londonderry, Windham County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 147. The center of the village comprises the South Londonderry Village Historic District. The CDP is in northwestern Windham County, in the south-central part of the town of Londonderry. It sits on both sides of the West River, a southeast-flowing tributary of the Connecticut River. Vermont Route 100 passes through the community, leading north 2.5 miles (4.0 km) to Londonderry village and south 9 miles (14 km) to Jamaica.

The Londonderry Town House, or the Londonderry Town Hall is the town hall of Londonderry, Vermont. It is located on Middletown Road in the village of South Londonderry. Built in 1860, its architecture encapsulates the changing functions of this type of public venue through more than 100 years of history. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
