Kværner Station

The Loenga–Alnabru Line (Norwegian: Loenga–Alnabrulinjen) is a 7.3-kilometer (4.5 mi) freight-only railway line in Oslo, Norway. It runs from the classification yard at Loenga(Norway) to Alnabru Freight Terminal, typically serving twenty trains per day. It allows trains to pass from the Østfold Line to Alnabru without passing via Oslo Central Station. It is also used by freight trains from the Sørlandet Line, which run via the Oslo Tunnel and cross over at Bryn Station. It is notorious for the steep hill Brynsbakken which it has to climb, giving it a gradient of 2.6 percent. The line was opened from Bryn to Alnabru Station in 1904, with completion to Loenga on 1 May 1907. The line was electrified in 1928. A new classification yard opened at Alnabru in 1970. The line was the site of the Sjursøya Accident in 2010. In order to bypass Brynsbakken, the Norwegian National Rail Administration has proposed building a tunnel from further south on the Østfold Line, named the Bryn Diagonal.

The Romerike Tunnel (Norwegian: Romeriksporten) is a 14.580-kilometre (9.060 mi) railway tunnel in Norway between Oslo and Lillestrøm. It is the second longest railway tunnel in Norway after the Blix Tunnel opened in 2022, and forms the first section of the Gardermoen Line. It is double track and electrified, permitting speeds of 210 kilometres per hour (130 mph). Construction started in 1994, with plans to open with the rest of the Gardermoen Line and Oslo Airport, Gardermoen on 8 October 1998. Due to serious leakage from Lutvann and several other lakes, it did not open until 22 August 1999. The leaks increased the cost of the tunnel from 0.5 billion kr to NOK 1.8 billion. The main contractor was Scandinavian Rock Group. The tunnel was originally owned by NSB Gardermobanen, then the Norwegian National Rail Administration, and now owned by Bane NOR. The tunnel allows long-distance, regional and Flytoget Airport Express Trains to bypass the old Hoved Line, reducing journey times between Oslo and Lillestrøm from 29 to 12 minutes.

Kværnerparken is a park in the Kvaerner neighborhood of Oslo, Norway. The park was established in 1922 with an area of 3.1 acres (1.3 hectares), It was upgraded in 1994 to 3.5 hectares (8.6 acres) at a cost of $250,000, as part of the redevelopment of Gamle Oslo in 1994. The name of a park was used for a new residential area in the vicinity, Kvaerner Dalen.

Etterstad (pronunciation ) is a neighborhood in Oslo, located between the river Alna and Strømsveien, north of Vålerenga. It was incorporated into Oslo in 1946, two years before the merger of Oslo and Aker. The area is mainly residential.

The Strømsveien tram fire (Trikkebrannen i Strømsveien) was a railway accident resulting from a fire erupting in an Oslo Tramway car traveling on Strømsveien street in Oslo, Norway.On 2 August 1958, a set of two cars, 194 and 198, of the Gullfisk type was traveling the Lilleaker Line ( Lilleakerbanenen) – Østensjø Line (Østensjøbanen) route from Bøler to Jar. This connection was opened in 1937 and the Gullfisk cars introduced in 1939. As the tram braked as it approached Totengata a technical malfunction caused arcing and a fire erupted in the front of car 198 which was the latter car. The exit door, being operated by the tram driver who was seated in the lead car, remained closed for a few, critical seconds as passengers were struck by panic. The disaster claimed the lives of five people; seventeen were injured. Following the disaster, fire extinguishers, better emergency exits and emergency door openers became mandatory in all public transport.

Vålerenga (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈvôːɽɛŋɑ] (listen)) is a neighbourhood in the city of Oslo, Norway, belonging to the borough of Gamle Oslo. Vålerenga is located between the neighbourhoods of Gamlebyen, Jordal, Ensjø, Etterstad and Lodalen. Vålerenga is in particular known for its traditional, small wooden houses, and for its football and ice hockey-teams: Vålerenga IF Fotball and Vålerenga Ishockey.

Helsfyr (pronunciation ) is a residential and industrial neighborhood in Oslo. It is located in Oslo's East End, in the administrative borough of Gamle Oslo. The neighborhood is named after Helsfyr gård, which name is possibly originating from Low Saxon helschvûr, "Hell-Fire". Helsfyr was sparsely populated until the 1950s, and was further developed in the 1980s.Helsfyr station on the Oslo Metro first opened in 1966. A combined metro/bus terminal opened in 1993, making Helsfyr an important public transportation interchange in Oslo's East End.

Helsfyr-Sinsen was a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway up to January 1, 2004, when it was split and merged into Alna and Gamle Oslo boroughs. It consisted of the neighborhoods Helsfyr, Teisen, Etterstad, Keyserløkka, Lille Tøyen, Valle, Løren, Carl Berners plass, Rosenhoff and Sinsen.

Helsfyr is a subway station on the east side of the Oslo Metro system located in the borough of Helsfyr. The station is shared by the Furuset Line (Line 2), the Østensjø Line (Line 3) and the Lambertseter Line (Lines 1 and 4). Line 1 terminates at Helsfyr during weekends, late evenings, and vacations. The station is located between Ensjø in the west and Brynseng in the east. Helsfyr is located underground. The entrance to the station is located within the perimeter of a bus terminal, and the surrounding localities consist mostly of office buildings and also some industrial establishments. An ice rink and concert stadium are located nearby at Valle-Hovin. Just northeast of the station is the cemetery Østre Gravlund (Eastern Cemetery), which includes the Jewish Cemetery.

Ensjø is a station on the Oslo Metro located in the borough of Helsfyr. The station is shared by the Østensjø-, Lambertseter- and Furuset Line. It is the first station on the east side after emerging from the downtown Common Tunnel for these lines. The station is located between Tøyen and Helsfyr. Ensjø is mostly a commercial area, with many car dealerships. The station also serves Jordal Amfi, home arena of Vålerenga Ishockey.

Simensbråten is a neighborhood in the borough of Nordstrand, Oslo, Norway. A mainly residential area, the suburb is located alongside a grove dividing Simensbråten from Brattlikollen.
