Vålerenga (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈvôːɽɛŋɑ] (listen)) is a neighbourhood in the city of Oslo, Norway, belonging to the borough of Gamle Oslo. Vålerenga is located between the neighbourhoods of Gamlebyen, Jordal, Ensjø, Etterstad and Lodalen. Vålerenga is in particular known for its traditional, small wooden houses, and for its football and ice hockey-teams: Vålerenga IF Fotball and Vålerenga Ishockey.

Vålerenga Church (Norwegian: Vålerenga kirke) is a church located in Oslo, Norway. Vålerenga church stands in the middle of Vålerenga park in the neighborhood of Vålerenga. The church belongs to the parish of Vålerenga of the Oslo arch-deanery within the Diocese of Oslo of the Church of Norway.

Ensjø is a station on the Oslo Metro located in the borough of Helsfyr. The station is shared by the Østensjø-, Lambertseter- and Furuset Line. It is the first station on the east side after emerging from the downtown Common Tunnel for these lines. The station is located between Tøyen and Helsfyr. Ensjø is mostly a commercial area, with many car dealerships. The station also serves Jordal Amfi, home arena of Vålerenga Ishockey.

Jordal is a neighbourhood in the borough of Gamle Oslo in Oslo, Norway. The neighbourhood is in a small valley between Kampen and Vålerenga, on a portion of the land previously occupied by the Nedre Valle farm. The area then became part of the Aker municipality until 1878, when Aker was incorporated into Kristiania (renamed Oslo in 1925). Jordal was known for the Jordal Teglverk brickworks, on the site now occupied by the Jordal Amfi, built as the venue for ice hockey at the 1952 Winter Olympics. The area is served by Ensjø station on the Oslo Metro.

Jordal Idrettspark is a multi-sports complex located at Jordal in Oslo, Norway. Owned by Oslo Municipality, its main tenant is Vålerengens IF. The main components are two ice hockey rinks, Jordal Amfi and Ungdomshallen, and a football stadium, Jordal Stadion. Jordal Stadion was built between 1930 and 1936. It is currently used for recreational football and American football, although it has previously also been used for speed skating. Jordal Amfi was built for ice hockey at the 1952 Winter Olympics and opened in 1951. The Vålerenga Trolls play American football at the stadium and Vålerenga Ishockey play in the amphitheater. The track around the football stadium was formerly used for track and field. It was especially prominent in the Workers' Confederation of Sports (AIF), where it was used for national championships for AIF clubs, like Jordal IF. It also hosted the national Workers' Championships in race walking, 5000 metres, in 1937 and 1938. Since 1926, the road race walking events had also been staged from Jordal. After the Workers' Confederation of Sports became defunct, Jordal was also used as a national venue by the Norwegian Walking Association. The local multi-sports club was named Jordal IF.

Jordal Amfi (often called Nye Jordal Amfi) is an indoor ice hockey arena, located in the Jordal district of Oslo, Norway. The 5,300-spectator arena is part of the multi-sports complex Jordal Idrettspark and serves as the home of Eliteserien (ice hockey) side Vålerenga Ishockey. Construction on the new arena started in January 2017, with completion in September 2020.

Jordal Amfi was an indoor ice hockey rink in Oslo, Norway, the first bearing that name. The venue opened in 1951 to host the 1952 Winter Olympics. Jordal was also the site of the 1958 and the 1999 IIHF World Championship. It would in the following decades also serve several boxing matches and concerts. Jordal Amfi was historically significant for Norwegian hockey and was home to 26 national championships of the GET-ligaen side Vålerenga Ishockey. It also hosted the Norway national ice hockey team. The arena's design by Frode Rinnan and Olav Tveten was characterized by its asymmetrical shape, giving steep and tall stands on the one end and low stands on the other. In 2017, the arena was closed down to be replaced by a new one.

Kampen Church is a church in the neighborhood of Kampen in Oslo, Norway. The church was consecrated 29 November 1882. After a fire in Kampen in 1878, plans for the reconstruction of the neighborhood included a new church. In 1880 it was founded a new congregation, that was located elsewhere until the church was finished. The church is made of brick and has 480 seats. The architect for the church was Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The church tower is covered with copper sheet. The altarpiece of the church shows two women at the empty grave of Jesus on Easter morning and was created in 1884 by the Norwegian painter and sculptor Axel Ender and was restored in 1913. Above four of the church's interior doors there are symbols of the four Gospels conducted by Enevold Thømt in 1913. The church is adorned with twelve large and six small stained glass windows and two rosette windows of the front doors, created by Peer Lorentz Dahl. The Madonna sculpture in marble (located in the Church porch) is created by sculptor Knut Steen in 1992.The church is listed and protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Kværner Station (Norwegian: Kværner stasjon) is a former railway station on the Gjøvik Line, located at Kværner in Oslo, Norway.On Kvaerner station was a small station building, which was sold to the Urskog–Høland Line, and in 1973 relocated to Bingsfoss station.

The Romerike Tunnel (Norwegian: Romeriksporten) is a 14.580-kilometre (9.060 mi) railway tunnel in Norway between Oslo and Lillestrøm. It is the second longest railway tunnel in Norway after the Blix Tunnel opened in 2022, and forms the first section of the Gardermoen Line. It is double track and electrified, permitting speeds of 210 kilometres per hour (130 mph). Construction started in 1994, with plans to open with the rest of the Gardermoen Line and Oslo Airport, Gardermoen on 8 October 1998. Due to serious leakage from Lutvann and several other lakes, it did not open until 22 August 1999. The leaks increased the cost of the tunnel from 0.5 billion kr to NOK 1.8 billion. The main contractor was Scandinavian Rock Group. The tunnel was originally owned by NSB Gardermobanen, then the Norwegian National Rail Administration, and now owned by Bane NOR. The tunnel allows long-distance, regional and Flytoget Airport Express Trains to bypass the old Hoved Line, reducing journey times between Oslo and Lillestrøm from 29 to 12 minutes.

Gamle Oslo is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. The name means "Old Oslo", and the district contains Old Town. The borough has several landmarks and large parks, including the Edvard Munch Museum, the Botanical Gardens and a medieval park. During the time that present Oslo was named Christiania, this area was called Oslo. H. P. Lovecraft alludes to the fact in his story The Call of Cthulhu: One autumn day I landed at the trim wharves in the shadow of the Egeberg. Johansen's address, I discovered, lay in the Old Town of King Harald Hardrada, which kept alive the name of Oslo during all the centuries that the greater city masqueraded as "Christiana". Labour became the largest party with 5 representatives, the Socialist Left have 3, the Conservatives, Liberals and the Red Electoral Alliance 2 each, and the Progress party 1.

The Loenga–Alnabru Line (Norwegian: Loenga–Alnabrulinjen) is a 7.3-kilometer (4.5 mi) freight-only railway line in Oslo, Norway. It runs from the classification yard at Loenga(Norway) to Alnabru Freight Terminal, typically serving twenty trains per day. It allows trains to pass from the Østfold Line to Alnabru without passing via Oslo Central Station. It is also used by freight trains from the Sørlandet Line, which run via the Oslo Tunnel and cross over at Bryn Station. It is notorious for the steep hill Brynsbakken which it has to climb, giving it a gradient of 2.6 percent. The line was opened from Bryn to Alnabru Station in 1904, with completion to Loenga on 1 May 1907. The line was electrified in 1928. A new classification yard opened at Alnabru in 1970. The line was the site of the Sjursøya Accident in 2010. In order to bypass Brynsbakken, the Norwegian National Rail Administration has proposed building a tunnel from further south on the Østfold Line, named the Bryn Diagonal.
