Boulevard Anspach

The Bourse - Grand-Place/Beurs - Grote Markt premetro station is an underground tram station in Brussels, Belgium located in the city centre under Boulevard Anspach, next to the Place de la Bourse and the Brussels Stock Exchange, after which it is named. It is also located metres from the Grand Place. Brussels trams stopping at that station are the lines 3 and 4 as well as evening services 31, 32 and 33. The station in part of the North-South axis between Brussels-North railway station and Albert premetro station. A connection with bus routes 46, 48, 86 and 95 is possible at ground level.

The Place de la Bourse (French) or Beursplein (Dutch), meaning "Stock Exchange Square", is a major square in central Brussels, Belgium. It was created following the covering of the river Senne (1867–1871). The former Brussels Stock Exchange building, of which it takes its name, is located on this square. It is served by the premetro (underground tram) station Bourse/Beurse on lines 3 and 4.

Belgian Beer World is a museum and visitor experience centre in Brussels, Belgium, devoted to Belgian beer culture. It is housed in the upper floors of the Bourse Palace (former Brussels Stock Exchange building). The museum was opened in September 2023.

The Bourse Palace (French: Palais de la Bourse; Dutch: Beurspaleis), often simply called the Bourse (French: la Bourse; Dutch: de Beurs), is a former stock exchange building in Brussels, Belgium. It was previously the seat of the Brussels Stock Exchange (BSE). Since 2023, its upper floors have housed the Belgian Beer World museum. Designed by the architect Léon-Pierre Suys, in an eclectic style mixing borrowings from neo-Renaissance and Second Empire architecture, the building was erected from 1868 to 1873 on the site of the former Butter Market, itself built over a former Franciscan convent whose remains have been unearthed. It is located on the Boulevard Anspach/Anspachlaan, and is the namesake of the Place de la Bourse/Beursplein, which is, after the Grand-Place/Grote Markt, the second most important square in Brussels. This area is served by the premetro (underground tram) station Bourse - Grand-Place/Beurs - Grote Markt on lines 4 and 10.

Bruxella 1238 is an archaeological site located beneath the Brussels Stock Exchange in Belgium. The site presents the remains of a Recollect convent established in the early 13th century and offers visitors an insight into nearly a millennium of Brussels’ history. Excavations conducted between 1988 and 2022 uncovered building foundations, burial grounds, and various artefacts, which are now presented through an immersive scenography. The convent endured significant events, including the European religious wars and the 1695 bombardment of Brussels by the troops of Louis XIV. Declared national property at the end of the 18th century, the convent was eventually demolished to make way for the construction of the Stock Exchange building. Among the preserved remains is the supposed tomb of John I, Duke of Brabant, a figure later linked to the beer legend of Gambrinus.

Saint-Géry Island (French: île Saint-Géry) or Sint-Goriks Island (Dutch: Sint-Gorikseiland ) was the largest island in the Senne (Zenne) river in Brussels, Belgium. It was named after Saint Gaugericus of Cambrai, who built a chapel there around 580; hence the name "Brussels", which comes from Bruocsella or Broekzele, meaning "settlement in the marsh". It ceased to exist as an island when the Senne was covered over in the late 19th century.

The Halles Saint-Géry (French) or Sint-Gorikshallen (Dutch) is a cultural centre in central Brussels, Belgium. It is located at 1, place Saint-Géry/Sint-Goriksplein, in a former covered market built in 1881–82. À La Bécasse (French, pronounced [a la bəkasə], lit. 'At The Woodcock') is a historic lambic café located at 9–11,Rue de Tabora/Taborastraat in Brussels, Belgium. Established in 1877 by Henri Steppé, the establishment is notable for its long-standing association with lambic beer culture and for having remained in the ownership of the Steppé family for more than a century.

Le Cirio is a historic café in Brussels, established in 1886 and located on Rue de la Bourse/Beursstraat. The café features a highly decorated Belle Époque interior and a distinctive façade that has been preserved over the years. Since 2011, both the building and its frontage have been protected as heritage.

The Brussels massacre was an anti-Semitic episode in Brussels (then within the Duchy of Brabant) in 1370 in connection with an alleged host desecration at the Brussels synagogue. A number of Jews, variously given as six or about twenty, were executed or otherwise killed, while the rest of the small community was banished. The event occurred on May 22.The supposedly recovered hosts became objects of veneration for local Christians as the Sacrament of Miracle. The cult survived until after the Second World War and the Holocaust, after which its antisemitic elements pushed the local church to derecognise it. It was claimed that the hosts had been stabbed by Jews and had miraculously shed blood, but been otherwise unharmed. The reliquary (without the hosts) is currently preserved in the cathedral's treasury (the hosts may have been present inside it as late as the year 2000).
