The North Santiam River is a 92-mile (148 km) tributary of the Santiam River in western Oregon in the United States. It drains 766 square miles (1,980 km2) of the Cascade Range on the eastern side of the Willamette Valley east of Salem.It rises in the high Cascades in eastern Linn county, northwest of Three Fingered Jack in the Willamette National Forest. It flows north through the mountains past Marion Forks, receiving the drainage from the western slope of Mount Jefferson. Near Mount Jefferson it turns sharply west, descending through a canyon past Idanha and Detroit to Niagara County Park where the valley begins to widen and some agriculture use begins. Continuing west, the river flows past Gates, Mill City and Mehama. It emerges through the foothills into the Willamette Valley near Stayton, then flows 15 miles (24 km) southwest through the valley where it joins the South Santiam River to form the Santiam River. The confluence is approximately 10 miles (16 km) east of the confluence of the Santiam and the Willamette River. It is impounded by Detroit Dam in the mountains west of Detroit to form Detroit Lake for flood control. Detroit Lake State Park is along the northern shore of the lake. In the 19th century, the canyon of the North Santiam River provided a formidable obstacle to settlers. The construction of a railroad in 1887 opened up the canyon to settlement and logging of the surrounding mountains.

The South Santiam River is a tributary of the Santiam River, about 69 miles (111 km) long, in western Oregon in the United States. It drains an area of the Cascade Range into the Willamette Valley east of Corvallis.It rises in the Cascades in southeastern Linn County in the Willamette National Forest at 44.374291°N 122.218128°W / 44.374291; -122.218128 (South Santiam River source). From this source, the confluence of Sevenmile and Latiwi creeks, it flows briefly north, then generally west through the Western Cascades and Cascadia. It then flows a handful of miles before entering Foster Reservoir. At Foster Reservoir the Middle Santiam River joins the South Santiam. Downstream from the reservoir it flows west past Sweet Home, where it turns northwest, passing through the foothills into the Willamette Valley near Lebanon. It joins the North Santiam River from the southeast to form the Santiam approximately 15 mi (24 km) northeast of Lebanon, about 10 miles (16 km) east of the confluence of the Santiam with the Willamette River.U.S. Route 20 follows the valley of the river from near its headwaters in the mountains to the Willamette Valley northwest of Lebanon.

It is publicly owned and operated by the City of Albany. It is the oldest known operating airfield in Oregon, having opened in 1920.There are 58 aircraft based at the municipal airport; 49 single engine airplanes, 7 multi-engine, and 2 jet airplanes. On average there are 62 aircraft operations per day.

Fairview Christian School was a private Mennonite school in Albany, Oregon, United States. Opened in 1975, the school was run by the Fairview Mennonite Church. The school moved to a new building in 1984, and closed in May 2009.

Millersburg is a city in Linn County, Oregon, United States. Millersburg originally was the name of a station on the Southern Pacific railroad line, which was named for a local farming family. The population was 1,329 at the 2010 census.

Heritage Mall is a shopping center in Albany in the U.S. state of Oregon. Anchored by Hobby Lobby, Ross Dress For Less, and Target, the 406,500-square-foot (37,770 m2) mall opened in 1988. Located near the junction of Interstate 5 and U.S. Route 20, the mall sits on 33 acres (13 ha) and is the largest in the Albany-Corvallis-Lebanon metropolitan area.

Built in 1970, South Albany occupies the largest facility in the Greater Albany Public School District, encompassing more than 167,000 square feet (15,500 m2) of classrooms and other facilities with its outdoor campus.

Linn County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 128,610. The county seat is Albany. The county is named in the honor of Lewis F. Linn, a U.S. Senator from Missouri who advocated the American settlement of the Oregon Country. Linn County comprises the Albany, OR Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Portland-Vancouver-Salem, OR-WA Combined Statistical Area. It is located in the Willamette Valley. In 2010, the center of population of Oregon was located in Linn County, near the city of Lyons.

Syracuse was a historic community in Linn County, Oregon, United States. It was located along the Santiam River, about two miles west of Jefferson. Syracuse was the first pioneer settlement in Linn County, predating Albany.The area's original inhabitants were the Santiam people of the Kalapuya tribe. Some of the last remaining Santiam people in the area were forced to move to the Grand Ronde Reservation in 1906.Syracuse was founded by Kentucky native Milton Hale, a pioneer who came to the Oregon Country on the Oregon Trail from Burlington, Iowa in 1845. He established a ferry on the Santiam River downstream from what is now Jefferson. Hale's Ferry became an important crossing point for the expansion of Oregon Trail settlers into Linn and Lane counties. The town of Syracuse was on his land claim on the south bank of the river. Syracuse post office was established in 1850, with Jacob S. Conser as the first postmaster. In 1852, the post office moved, and the name was changed to Santiam City, a rival city founded by Samuel S. Miller on the north bank of the river in Marion County. Syracuse and Santiam City eventually lost business to Jefferson, which was founded by Jacob Conser. Santiam City post office was moved and renamed Jefferson in 1861.Both Syracuse and Santiam City across the river were washed out by the Great Flood of 1862 and never rebuilt. No trace of either town exists today.The Simison-Hale Cemetery (aka Syracuse Cemetery or Milton Hale Cemetery) is located near the site of Hale Ferry, probably a short distance west of the townsite. Milton Hale himself is not buried there because there was fear that if the Santiam changed course, it would wash the cemetery away.

These opportunities include transitional programs, credit-recovery programs, higher-education courses and education through contracted services. Albany Options School is an accredited alternative school serving middle school, high school and GED students. The school also had a preschool program linked with the Boys & Girls Club of Albany at the Albany Options School, serving up to 20 children close to the age of 5.

Albany is the county seat of Linn County, Oregon, and is the 11th most populous city in the state. Albany is located in the Willamette Valley at the confluence of the Calapooia River and the Willamette River in both Linn and Benton counties, just east of Corvallis and south of Salem. It is predominantly a farming and manufacturing city that settlers founded around 1848. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population of Albany, Oregon was 56,472.Albany has a home rule charter, a council–manager government, and a full-time unelected city manager. The city provides the population with access to over 30 parks and trails, a senior center, and many cultural events such as the Northwest Art & Air Festival, River Rhythms, Summer Sounds and Movies at Monteith. The Hackleman Historic District in Albany Oregon, was placed on the list of National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982. The district contains 228 historic properties within about a 28 city blocks area. The district was named after Abner Hackleman who came to Albany in 1845.
