Albany is the county seat of Linn County, Oregon, and is the 11th most populous city in the state. Albany is located in the Willamette Valley at the confluence of the Calapooia River and the Willamette River in both Linn and Benton counties, just east of Corvallis and south of Salem. It is predominantly a farming and manufacturing city that settlers founded around 1848. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population of Albany, Oregon was 56,472.Albany has a home rule charter, a council–manager government, and a full-time unelected city manager. The city provides the population with access to over 30 parks and trails, a senior center, and many cultural events such as the Northwest Art & Air Festival, River Rhythms, Summer Sounds and Movies at Monteith. In addition to farming and manufacturing, the city's economy depends on retail trade, health care, and social assistance. In recent years the city has worked to revive the downtown shopping area, with help from the Central Albany Revitalization Area.

These opportunities include transitional programs, credit-recovery programs, higher-education courses and education through contracted services. Albany Options School is an accredited alternative school serving middle school, high school and GED students. The school also had a preschool program linked with the Boys & Girls Club of Albany at the Albany Options School, serving up to 20 children close to the age of 5.

Heritage Mall is a shopping center in Albany in the U.S. state of Oregon. Anchored by Hobby Lobby, Ross Dress For Less, and Target, the 406,500-square-foot (37,770 m2) mall opened in 1988. The Linn County Courthouse is located at 300 SW 4th Avenue in Albany, Oregon, United States. In 1851, the Oregon Territorial Legislature passed an act establishing Albany as the county seat. The original county courthouse was erected in Albany in 1853 but was destroyed by fire in 1861. A second courthouse was built in the same area in 1865. The present courthouse was constructed in 1940, adjacent to the earlier structures. Current county officials within the courthouse include three commissioners, district attorney, assessor, clerk, sheriff, surveyor, and treasurer.Linn County's courthouse serves as the workplace of Oregon's 23rd Judicial District (the circuit courts of Linn County).

Built in 1973, the two-lane structure carries US 20 westbound traffic, with the adjacent Ellsworth Street Bridge carrying eastbound traffic. The bridge connects Albany with North Albany and is a major link between Albany and Corvallis.

The Albany Monteith Historic District, also known as Monteith Historic District, in Albany, Oregon, United States, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1980. It includes the Alfred Dawson House, which is separately listed on the NRHP. The district was expanded in 2008.

The Ellsworth Street Bridge is a highway bridge that crosses the Willamette River in Albany, Oregon, United States. Built in 1925, the two-lane structure carries U.S. Route 20 eastbound traffic, with the adjacent Lyon Street Bridge carrying westbound traffic. The 1,090-foot-long (330 m) steel truss bridge was designed by Conde McCullough and opened in 1926.
