Back Creek (Potomac River tributary)

Tilhance Creek is a 10.4-mile-long (16.7 km) tributary stream of Back Creek in Berkeley County of West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle.

Allensville is an unincorporated community in Berkeley County in the U.S. state of West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. It is located on Allensville Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 3/2) to the east of Back Creek shortly before its confluence with the Potomac River. The claypits in North Mountain along the old Baltimore and Ohio Railroad mainline lie to the southeast of Allensville.

Fort Frederick State Park is a public recreation and historic preservation area on the Potomac River surrounding the restored Fort Frederick, a fortification active in the French and Indian War (1754–1763) and the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). The state park lies south of the town of Big Pool, Maryland. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal runs through the park grounds. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1973.

Big Pool is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in western Washington County, Maryland, United States. Its population was 82 as of the 2010 census. It is between Clear Spring, Maryland and Hancock, Maryland along Interstate 70 and is officially a part of the Hagerstown Metropolitan Area. To the south of Big Pool lies Fort Frederick State Park, a restored fort used during the French and Indian War. Also nearby is the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park, which lies near Ft. Frederick alongside the Potomac River. Big Pool is also the name of a large body of water which is part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. This pool occurs roughly at the 113 mile mark, and it is on what the canallers called the 14 mile level.

Cherry Run is a 7.2-mile-long (11.6 km) meandering stream that forms the northern section of the boundary between Morgan and Berkeley counties in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. While it is mostly non-navigable, Cherry Run provides many pools of varying depths for fishing and swimming. As a tributary of the Potomac River, Cherry Run is part of the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay watersheds.

North Mountain is an unincorporated community in Berkeley County, West Virginia, United States. It takes its name from North Mountain, which lies to its west. The community of North Mountain is located on West Virginia Route 901 northeast of Hedgesville.

Georgetown is an unincorporated community in Berkeley County, West Virginia, United States. It is located south of Little Georgetown on County Route 2.

Teter Myers French House, also known as Peter Sperow House, is a historic home located near Hedgesville, Berkeley County, West Virginia. It was built in 1860 and is a two / three story, brick dwelling with a stone and brick foundation and hipped roof, situated on a hill. Also on the property is a wash house / root cellar used as slave quarters, corn crib, and barn built into a hillside.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Clary's Mountain Historic District comprises 8 acres (3.2 ha) on either side of Hammond's Mill Road east of Hedgesville, West Virginia. The district contains six mostly wood-framed houses from the late 19th and early 20th century, with a total of twelve structures, including outbuildings. The oldest house, the Thomas Payne House at Hammond's Mill Road, was built in 1879. The Ward-Lemaster House (612 Hammond's Mill Road)) was built in 1905 with eclectic detailing. 627 Hammond's Mill Road was built about 1894. The Lee Lingamfelter House at 611 incorporates Eastlake detailing. The Dr. D.R. Ross House at 589 was built in 1885, and the Morris-Kilmer House is an American Foursquare from about 1920.The neighborhood lies at the foot of Potato Hill, a component of the North Mountain ridge. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 15, 2004.

James Mason House and Farm is a historic home located at Hedgesville, Berkeley County, West Virginia. The two-story stone house was built about 1809, and is a four-bay limestone building with a gable roof measuring 24 feet wide by 22 feet deep. A two-story, concrete block residential addition was completed about 1900. Also on the property is a bank barn (c. 1890) and corn crib (c. 1890).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Little Georgetown is a small unincorporated community along the Potomac River in Berkeley County, West Virginia, United States. It is located northeast of Hedgesville and Georgetown.

Huyett (also known as Huyetts Crossroads) is an unincorporated community not considered as a census-designated place (CDP) in western Washington County, Maryland, United States. It is located north of Williamsport and south of Cearfoss on Maryland Route 63 and on U.S. Route 40, west of Hagerstown and east of Clear Spring. Huyett is officially included in the Hagerstown Metropolitan Area (Hagerstown-Martinsburg, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area). Many trucking firms and transportation related businesses of the Hagerstown area are located in Huyett. The community benefits from easy access to both Interstate 70 via exit 24 (MD 63) and Interstate 81 via exit 6B (US 40).
