Hebden Bridge signal box is a Grade II listed former Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway signal box, located close to Hebden Bridge railway station in West Yorkshire, England. Built in 1891, it is one of only a few remaining L&YR signal boxes to survive in anything like original condition.In July 2013, it was one of 26 "highly distinctive" signal boxes listed by Ed Davey, minister for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, in a joint initiative by English Heritage and Network Rail to preserve and provide a window into how railways were operated in the past.

Hebden Royd is a civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 9,092, rising to 9,558 at the 2011 census. It includes market town of Hebden Bridge and the villages of Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale. The parish was an urban district before 1974, created in 1937 by the merger of Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd urban districts.

Hebden Bridge is a market town in the Calderdale district of West Yorkshire, England. It is in the Upper Calder Valley, 8 miles (13 km) west of Halifax and 14 miles (21 km) north-east of Rochdale, at the confluence of the River Calder and the Hebden Water. Hebden Bridge Picture House in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, is one of the last remaining council-owned cinemas in Britain. Together with the adjacent shops, it forms a Grade II listed building.The Picture House, built between 1919-1921, is an independent cinema with daily evening screenings, weekend matinees and tea time screenings, and matinees most days during school holidays. There is a screening every Thursday morning, at which free tea and biscuits are provided. It also screens live broadcasts of theatre, opera, ballet, music and arts documentaries via satellite. It has both digital and 35mm projection facilities. It has one screen with over 500 seats, and mainly operates from the stalls (accessible) seating downstairs. It has a kiosk serving hot and cold drinks, cake, popcorn, sweets, chocolates and savoury snacks. The Picture House offers a wide-ranging programme of film and live events. It shows anywhere between 16 and 26 films per month, ranging from mainstream and blockbuster to art-house and foreign language films. There are regular screenings of specialist films and touring programmes from a range of organisations, including the British Film Institute. Certain screenings come with subtitles and / or audio description.

Birchcliffe Baptist Church is a redundant Baptist chapel in the town of Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, England. It was founded by Daniel Taylor in 1764.In 1807 a splinter group left to found Mount Zion Baptist Church, Slack, Heptonstall as they were unhappy with the ordination of a new minister, Henry Hollinrake.Three churches called Birchcliffe have existed on the site: the second was built in 1825, and demolished in 1933; the third and current building was built further down the hill and opened on 31 October 1899. It closed for worship in the 1970s. Today the building is Grade II listed and is known as the Birchcliffe Centre. Little remains of the original chapel buildings, aside from part of the school building and the graveyard.

The Battle of Heptonstall occurred in November 1643 during the First English Civil War at Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall, Yorkshire. During the battle, Colonel Bradshaw, a Parliamentarian commander fended off an attack by Sir Francis Mackworth and the Royalists.

Hepton was a rural district in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, from 1894 to 1974. The district included four civil parishes: Heptonstall, Blackshaw Erringden WadsworthIt was created in 1894 as the Todmorden rural district. It was renamed in the 1930s and survived until 1974, when, under the Local Government Act 1972 it was abolished and became part of the Calderdale metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire.

Old Town is a village in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated on a hilltop above Hebden Bridge and across the Hebden valley from Heptonstall. The village falls within the Calderdale Ward of Luddendenfoot. Both Old Town and nearby Pecket Well are served by Wadsworth Parish Council. Old Town has a village green, two chapels, a pub called the Hare & Hounds (known by the locals as Lane Ends) and a post office which has a café situated within. The village has a population of about 1,070.

Wadsworth is a civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 1,456, increasing to 1,603 at the 2011 Census, and was, until 1974, part of Hepton Rural District. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the main settlements in the parish are Old Town, Chiserley and Pecket Well. It was named a berewick of Wakefield in the Domesday Book of 1086, and thus subsequently recorded as a subinfeudatory manor, before its subsequent extinguishment in the nineteenth century. From the seventeenth century it was also one of five townships forming the chapelry of Heptonstall.

The Upper Calder Valley lies in West Yorkshire, in northern England, and covers the towns of Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Luddendenfoot, and Sowerby Bridge, as well as a number of smaller settlements such as Portsmouth, Cornholme, Walsden, and Eastwood. The valley is the upper valley of the River Calder. Major tributaries of the Upper Calder include the Walsden Water, which flows through the large village of Walsden to join the Calder at Todmorden; the Hebden Water, which flows through Hebden Dale to join the Calder at Hebden Bridge; Cragg Brook, which flows through Cragg Vale to join the Calder at Mytholmroyd, and the largest, the River Ryburn, which joins the Calder at Sowerby Bridge. The Upper Calder Valley falls entirely within the much larger metropolitan district of Calderdale. The towns of the Upper Calder are situated linearly along the valley, which cuts through the eastern slopes of the Pennines from Portsmouth in the west to Sowerby Bridge, a market town on the outskirts of Halifax, in the east.
