Ferndale Institution

Mission Institution is a minimum and medium security federal institution within the Correctional Service of Canada and is located in Mission, British Columbia. It has a capacity of 540 inmates: 324 in medium security and 216 in minimum security. Mission Institution is broken up into 5 living units, with an additional 10 cell segregation unit that also accommodates inmates from neighboring Ferndale Institution. Mission Institution has several industries building, allowing inmates to be employed to build numerous products, including CORCAN furniture and restoring bicycles for the Bikes for Kids program.The institution was the site of a COVID-19 outbreak, where at least 133 inmates and staff had tested positive for the virus, with one death. The Provincial Health Services Authority's Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) was set up in a secure area at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, in order to assist with controlling the outbreak.

Westminster Abbey is a community of Benedictine monks in Mission, British Columbia, established in 1939 from the Abbey of Mount Angel, Oregon. The abbey is home to the Seminary of Christ the King and is a member of the Swiss American Congregation within the Benedictine Confederation. The abbey's official name is the Abbey of Saint Joseph of Westminster; Saint Joseph is the abbey's patron saint. The abbey was designed by the firm of Gardiner, Thornton, Gathe and Associates.

Pekw'Xe:yles or Peckquaylis is an Indian reserve on the north bank of the Fraser River in Mission, British Columbia, Canada, located between Lower Hatzic Slough and D'Herbomez Creek. It sits on the former site of St. Mary's Indian Residential School. 10.3 ha. in area, it was reinstated in June, 2005 by Order in Council and is used by 21 Indian bands.

D'Herbomez Creek is a creek in eastern Mission, British Columbia, flowing southeast to join the Fraser River at the Pekw'Xe:yles Indian Reserve (formerly the grounds of St. Mary's Indian Residential School).

École Mission Secondary School is a high school located in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. It was established in 1952, and is the longest serving secondary school in the District of Mission. During 2014 the local school district decided that Mission Secondary would be the one and only high school in Mission starting during the 2015–2016 school year with Jim Pearce (from Heritage Park Secondary School) as the new principal.

Mission City is the eastern terminus station on the West Coast Express commuter rail line connecting Vancouver to Mission, British Columbia, Canada. The station is located on the north side of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) tracks in Mission on North Railway Avenue. The station opened in 1995, when the West Coast Express began operating. 254 park and ride spaces are available at the station. All services are operated by TransLink.

Mission is a city in the Lower Mainland of the province of British Columbia, Canada. It was originally incorporated as a district municipality in 1892, growing to include additional villages and rural areas over the years, adding the original Town of Mission City, long an independent core of the region, in 1969. Mission Harbour station is a railway station in Mission, British Columbia, Canada, located along CPR's Cascade subdivision. It sits just north of the Mission Railway Bridge at Harbour Avenue. The station is served by Via Rail's The Canadian as a flag stop (48 hours advance notice required). The station is only served by eastbound trains towards Toronto. Westbound trains call at Abbotsford railway station along the CN Railway tracks, on the other side of the Fraser River. This split in service between Vancouver and Ashcroft is due to CN and CPR utilizing directional running through the Thompson- and Fraser Canyon.

The Mission Railway Bridge is a Canadian Pacific Railway bridge spanning the Fraser River between Mission, and Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Replacing an earlier bridge built in 1891, which was the first and only bridge crossing of the Fraser below Siska in the Fraser Canyon until the construction of the New Westminster rail bridge in 1904, it was constructed in 1909 by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). The Mission Railway Bridge is supported by 13 concrete piers and is approximately 533 metres in length. Before completion of the Mission highway bridge, highway traffic to and from Matsqui and Abbotsford with Mission used the bridge as a one-way alternating route, with traffic lights at either end to control direction. Rail traffic often held up car crossings, causing long and often very lengthy waits, which were a part of daily life in the Central Valley until the new bridge was completed. Beneath the bridge's north abutment is an important river-level gauge monitored during the annual Fraser freshet. The bridge is also the location of the end of the Fraser's tidal bore - downstream from the bridge the river is increasingly influenced by tidal influences from the Georgia Strait.

Rocko's Diner is a diner located in Mission, British Columbia, best known for its forty flavours of milkshakes and its use as a filming location for several televisions shows. The diner was the first drive-in and first 24-hour restaurant in Mission. In 2017, USA Today named the diner one of Canada's top ten filming locations.
