Colley Hill is part of the North Downs escarpment in the North Downs, Surrey, England. It is about 1 km east of Buckland Hills and 1 km west of Reigate Hill, all of which form part of the same escarpment. It is centred 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of London and forms a single scarp with Reigate Hill, peaking 2 miles (3 km) away at 235 metres above sea level. The scarp fluctuates in height but is continuous as far as Box Hill 5 miles (8 km) west. The term "Reigate Hill" also designates a neighbourhood of Reigate, and also a ward of Reigate and Banstead.

Margery is a heavily buffered, lightly populated hamlet in the Reigate and Banstead district, in the English county of Surrey. It sits on the North Downs, is bordered by the London Orbital Motorway, at a lower altitude, and its predominant land use is agriculture.

New Mill is a grade II listed post mill at Tadworth, Surrey, England which is on the Buildings at Risk Register.

The 2011 Senior Open Championship was a senior major golf championship and the 25th Senior Open Championship, held on 21–24 July at Walton Heath Golf Club in Walton on the Hill, Surrey, England, United Kingdom. It was the 9th Senior Open Championship played as a senior major championship.Russ Cochran won two strokes ahead of Mark Calcavecchia. It was Cochran's first senior major championship victory. Defending champion Bernhard Langer finished tied 12th, eight strokes behind the winner.

The 24th Ryder Cup Matches were held 18–20 September 1981 at the Walton Heath Golf Club in Walton-on-the-Hill, Surrey, England, southwest of London. The United States team won the competition by a score of 181⁄2 to 91⁄2 points. It was the largest margin of defeat for a European team (since 1979) at the Ryder Cup until 2021. It is also the largest margin of defeat for the host team on European soil. Seve Ballesteros was not selected for the European team after an ongoing dispute with the European Tour concerning appearance money. Tony Jacklin was also left off the team.It was the sixth and final Ryder Cup for Jack Nicklaus as a competitor and he won all four of his matches. He had failed to make the team for the first time in 1979. Bernhard Langer made his Ryder Cup debut in 1981 and was 1–2 in pairs and halved his singles match.

Walton Heath Golf Club is a golf club in England, near Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey, southwest of London. Founded in 1903, the club comprises two 18-hole golf courses, both of which are well known for having heather covering many of the areas of rough.The Old Course opened in 1904, and (as of 2009) has a championship length of 7,406 yards (6,772 m). The New Course opened as a 9-hole course in 1907 and was extended to 18 holes in 1913; its championship length in 2009 was 7,199 yards (6,583 m). Both were designed by Herbert Fowler, who later designed numerous courses in the United Kingdom and United States. Walton Heath has had a long association with royalty and politics, with Edward, Prince of Wales having been the club's first captain in 1935, and former United Kingdom Prime Ministers David Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, Bonar Law and Arthur Balfour all having been members. The club has also only ever had four club professionals, including five time British Open champion James Braid who held the post from 1904 until 1950.Both courses at Walton Heath have been consistently rated in the UK's top 100 courses, with the Old Course also being rated as one of the top 100 in the world.

The 2023 AIG Women's Open was played from 10 to 13 August in England at Walton Heath Golf Club. It was the 47th Women's British Open, the 23rd as a major championship on the LPGA Tour, and the fourth championship held under a sponsorship agreement with AIG. It was the first Women's British Open to be hosted at Walton Heath.

Reigate Heath is a 61.7-hectare (152-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Reigate in Surrey. An area of 51.6 hectares (128 acres) is also a Local Nature Reserve. Seven bowl barrows dating to the Bronze Age are designated Scheduled Monuments.Most of the site is heath and acidic grassland, with some areas of woodland and marshy meadow. One part is a golf course. The heath is mainly ling, bell heather and wavy hair-grass. Marshy meadows have Yorkshire fog, sharp-flowered rush, meadowsweet, wild angelica and marsh marigold.There is public access to most of the site apart from the golf course.

The London Defence Positions were a late 19th century scheme of earthwork fortifications in the south-east of England, designed to protect London from foreign invasion landing on the south coast. The positions were a carefully surveyed contingency plan for a line of entrenchments, which could be quickly excavated in a time of emergency. The line to be followed by these entrenchments was supported by thirteen permanent small polygonal forts or redoubts called London Mobilisation Centres, which were equipped with all the stores and ammunition that would be needed by the troops tasked with digging and manning the positions.

Reigate Priory Football Club is a football club based in Reigate, Surrey, England. They are currently members of the Mid-Sussex League Premiership and play at Park Lane.

Reigate transmitting station is a television and radio transmitting tower in southeastern England. It is located on the North Downs at Reigate Hill about one mile (1.6 km) north of the town of Reigate at junction 8 of the M25 motorway where it intersects with the A217 road. Another telecommunications tower is located adjacent to the Reigate broadcasting tower, both sites are owed and operated by Arqiva. The station was primarily built to provide uhf television to the towns of Reigate and Redhill which are screened from the London transmitter at Crystal Palace by the North Downs. However, from its high position on Reigate Hill (site height 226 metres (741 ft)) the transmitter provides secondary coverage to a large area of south Surrey and northern areas of West Sussex. The original tower built in 1966 was some 46m in height. In the late 1990s with the need to add additional services to the tower, such as digital radio, the tower was replaced with a new structure some 18m taller.
