Reigate (UK Parliament constituency)

Margery is a heavily buffered, lightly populated hamlet in the Reigate and Banstead district, in the English county of Surrey. It sits on the North Downs, is bordered by the London Orbital Motorway, at a lower altitude, and its predominant land use is agriculture.

Reigate transmitting station is a television and radio transmitting tower in southeastern England. It is located on the North Downs at Reigate Hill about one mile (1.6 km) north of the town of Reigate at junction 8 of the M25 motorway where it intersects with the A217 road. Another telecommunications tower is located adjacent to the Reigate broadcasting tower, both sites are owed and operated by Arqiva. The station was primarily built to provide uhf television to the towns of Reigate and Redhill which are screened from the London transmitter at Crystal Palace by the North Downs. However, from its high position on Reigate Hill (site height 226 metres (741 ft)) the transmitter provides secondary coverage to a large area of south Surrey and northern areas of West Sussex. The original tower built in 1966 was some 46m in height. In the late 1990s with the need to add additional services to the tower, such as digital radio, the tower was replaced with a new structure some 18m taller.

The London Defence Positions were a late 19th century scheme of earthwork fortifications in the south-east of England, designed to protect London from foreign invasion landing on the south coast. The positions were a carefully surveyed contingency plan for a line of entrenchments, which could be quickly excavated in a time of emergency. The line to be followed by these entrenchments was supported by thirteen permanent small polygonal forts or redoubts called London Mobilisation Centres, which were equipped with all the stores and ammunition that would be needed by the troops tasked with digging and manning the positions.

Colley Hill is part of the North Downs escarpment in the North Downs, Surrey, England. It is about 1 km east of Buckland Hills and 1 km west of Reigate Hill, all of which form part of the same escarpment. It is centred 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of London and forms a single scarp with Reigate Hill, peaking 2 miles (3 km) away at 235 metres above sea level. The scarp fluctuates in height but is continuous as far as Box Hill 5 miles (8 km) west. The term "Reigate Hill" also designates a neighbourhood of Reigate, and also a ward of Reigate and Banstead.

Kingswood or Kingswood with Burgh Heath is a residential area on the North Downs in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey, England. Part of the London commuter belt, Kingswood is just to the east of the A217 separating it from Tadworth and has a railway station. Burgh Heath in its north is combined with it to form a ward. Reigate is 3.6 miles (5.8 km) south of its centre and London is 15.5 miles (24.9 km) to the north northeast. Kingswood with Burgh Heath had a population of 6,891 in 2011.

Mogador is a hamlet in the Reigate and Banstead district, in the English county of Surrey. It is at the edge of Banstead Heath, which provides it a green buffer from other communities, and about 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km) from the top of the north-facing dip slope of the North Downs. At an elevation of about 200 metres (660 ft) it is one of the highest settlements in south-east England. It is just north of the M25 motorway. The nearest settlement is Lower Kingswood, through which Mogador is accessed by road. Other nearby settlements include the hamlet of Margery, the villages of Kingswood, Tadworth and Walton-on-the-Hill, and the town of Reigate. The area surrounding the hamlet is a mixture of farmland and common land, with Colley Hill and Reigate Hill to the south and east being National Trust land. Other common land areas nearby include Walton Heath and the Buckland Hills. The North Downs Way passes immediately to the south of the hamlet. The hamlet gave its name to the telephone exchange which provides the service to Lower Kingswood and most of Kingswood, now included in the 01737 area code. Located here is The Sportman pub. This is said to be one of Henry VIII’s hunting lodges.

Lower Kingswood is a village located in Surrey, just within the M25 motorway. It is between Kingswood and Reigate, and is bisected by the A217 dual carriageway. Neighbouring settlements include Tadworth and Reigate also Redhill.

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School is an all-through co-educational boarding school near Reigate, Surrey. The headmaster as of 2022 is Morgan Thomas. The Royal Alexandra and Albert School Act, of 1949, united The Royal Alexandra School, which was founded in 1758, and The Royal Albert Orphan School, which was founded in 1864 as a national memorial to Prince Albert, late husband of Queen Victoria. It is one of 32 state-maintained boarding schools in England and Wales, and the only one to educate children from primary school years to sixth form.

Kingswood railway station serves Kingswood in the county of Surrey. It is a late-Victorian station on the Tattenham Corner Line, 20 miles 72 chains (33.6 km) from London Charing Cross. Train services and the station are operated by Southern. The station has a building on the up side only (platform 1), with just a metal shelter on the down side (platform 2). Part of the building is still used by Southern, with a large waiting area and ticket office on the ground floor, though this is only open during weekday morning peak travel. The upper floors and part of the ground floor are used as offices, the Tudor Business Centre. There is a small forecourt available for car parking on both sides of the station, cyclists are provided with a small shelter. The two platforms are connected by a new steel over bridge (which replaced the existing concrete bridge in early 2014). There is a self-serve ticket machine located on each platform and Oyster smart card readers are installed at the entrance/exits on both sides of the station.

The Church of St Andrew, Gatton is a Church of England church in Gatton, near Reigate in Surrey, England. It is a Grade I listed. The earliest record of a church on the site is in 880AD. Some fabric from the 13th century survives including a piscina and the font, but the church we see today mostly dates from an idiosyncratic restoration by Frederick, Baron Monson, and his architect E. Webb in 1834.

Reigate railway station serves the town of Reigate, Surrey, England, on the North Downs Line. It is 24 miles 27 chains (24.34 miles, 39.17 km) measured from London Charing Cross via Redhill. The station is managed by Southern.

Gatton Park is a country estate set in parkland landscaped by Capability Brown at Gatton, near Reigate in Surrey, England. Gatton Park is now partly owned by The Royal Alexandra and Albert School and partly by the National Trust. It comprises 250 acres (1.0 km2) of manor and parkland. The property is Grade II listed. The park is Grade II listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.Most of the park is closed to the public, but there are occasional open days.
