PayPal Park (formerly Earthquakes Stadium and Avaya Stadium) is a soccer stadium in San Jose, California, United States, and is the home of Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes. The stadium is located on the Airport West site that is located to the west of San Jose International Airport.PayPal Park officially opened on February 27, 2015, and has a capacity of approximately 18,000. The stadium features a canopy roof and some of the steepest-raked seating in Major League Soccer to provide a better view. Additionally, the area behind the northeast goal houses the largest outdoor bar in North America, a 2-acre (0.81 ha) fan zone and a double-sided video scoreboard. The suites and club seats are located at field level. The stadium is part of a mixed-use residential, retail, R&D, and hotel development.The stadium was constructed privately with no public money provided by the city of San Jose. Additionally, Lewis Wolff, owner of the San Jose Earthquakes, offered to pay for the maintenance of the stadium for a 55-year time span. The team organization initially delayed the completion date to the middle of the 2014 MLS season, but later delayed it again to the 2015 season. The seat pattern includes three different shades of blue as well as a smattering of red seats to pay homage to the club's NASL history. Additionally, the pattern contains the message "Go EQ" written in binary.

On May 26, 2021, a mass shooting occurred at a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) rail yard in San Jose, California, United States. Ten people were killed during the shooting, including the gunman, identified as 57-year-old VTA employee Samuel James Cassidy, who died by suicide. It is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the San Francisco Bay Area.As a result of the shooting, service throughout the VTA light rail system was suspended for months. The city announced and later passed a package of policy proposals intended to curb gun violence, including unprecedented liability insurance and compensation fee requirements for gun owners.

The Guadalupe River Park is a city park in San Jose, CA. It is a 120-acre park on the banks of the Guadalupe River for about 2.6 miles in the downtown. It was opened in 2005 after the adjoining section of the river was lined with concrete for flood protection.The park contains a green adjacent to the SAP Center, tennis courts, a visitor center, and installations of public art. The Guadalupe River Trail runs through the park. The Guadalupe River Park was neglected after opening, leading to calls for revitalization to turn around a homelessness crisis. These calls have led to some proposals and actions to clean trash and engage unhoused in the area.One public art initiative in the park involves seating areas for San Jose's sister cities. In 2023, a 440 lb statue of Shivaji I that was part of an installation for the city of Pune was stolen from the park. It was quickly recovered.

The School of Education and Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University was created in the fall of 2001 and brought together graduate programs in Counseling Psychology and Education. The San Jose Central Fire Station, also known as San Jose Fire Station One, was the central fire station for the San Jose Fire Department in downtown San Jose, California. The International-style firehouse was designed by the architectural firm Binder & Curtis and built in 1951. The station became the city's central fire station, equipped with a new communication system that served as a command center for emergency services across the entire city. Its historical significance is association with the mid-century expansion of San Jose. The building now houses the San Jose Fire Museum on Market Street. The Fire Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 2015. On January 31, 2024, the The Mercury News announced the celebration of the San Jose Fire Department's 170th anniversary at the San Jose Fire Museum.

The Caltrain Centralized Equipment Maintenance and Operations Facility (CEMOF) is a train maintenance yard and facility located to the north of San Jose Diridon Station in Central San Jose, California. The $140 million maintenance station began construction in 2004 and opened in 2007, consolidating much of Caltrain's maintenance and operations into one location.

The northbound platform is located just north of Gish Street, while the southbound platform is located just south of it. This station is served by the Blue and Green lines of the VTA Light Rail system.
