Myrtle Beach Speedway (originally named Rambi Raceway), was built in 1958 and was located on U.S. Route 501 near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The speedway was a semi-banked asphalt oval track that spans 0.538 miles (0.866 km).The NASCAR Cup Series competed at the Speedway from 1958 through 1965. The NASCAR Busch Series (now the Xfinity Series) raced at Myrtle Beach Speedway from 1988 to 2000. Over the years, Myrtle Beach Speedway has been the training grounds for some of NASCAR's biggest stars including Jeff Gordon (former Busch Series track record holder). All four generations of Pettys (Lee, Richard, Kyle, and Adam) and three generations of Earnhardts (Ralph, Dale Sr., Dale Jr., and Kelley) have taken a green flag around the asphalt oval that spans 0.538 miles (0.866 km).

Carolina Forest is a census-designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 23,342.It is located west of Myrtle Beach and east of Conway in an area planned by International Paper in the late 1990s. Most of the development follows the Carolina Forest Master Plan, developed cooperatively between International Paper and the Horry County Government. Carolina Forest also includes the unincorporated community of Pine Island.

Carolina Forest High School is located in Horry County, South Carolina, United States, in the Carolina Forest attendance area. The school is one of nine high schools within Horry County Schools. The school serves parts of Myrtle Beach and eastern Conway. Approximately 2400 students attend Carolina Forest High School (grades 9–12) each year. It is led by Principal Gaye Driggers.

Pine Island is an unincorporated community in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. Pine Island began as an experimental farm in the early 1900s, when the train to Myrtle Beach had been chartered from Conway to the Pine Island area. The train would eventually run to Myrtle Beach a year later. A store was constructed in the area, which provided feed for animals, fresh meat, and eggs. A lumber mill was built, which provided wood for Myrtle Beach's first buildings and structures, including the Seaside Inn, Myrtle Beach's first hotel. The experimental farm was managed as a factory, as the farm was laid off in tracts and records were kept. The experimental farm failed and the landowner had to sell. Currently, the area of Pine Island has grown, constructing new residential developments, and a few industrial businesses. The community is located within the Carolina Forest CDP.

Forestbrook is a census-designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 4,612 at the 2010 census, up from 3,391 at the 2000 census.

Dragon's Run is a steel roller coaster manufactured by Swiss engineers Bolliger & Mabillard and located at Dragon Park Ha Long in Vietnam. The coaster was relocated from Freestyle Music Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where it last operated as Time Machine. The ride originally opened to the public on April 15, 2008, under the name Led Zeppelin: The Ride as one of the main attractions at Hard Rock Park. As a result of financial difficulties, Hard Rock Park closed after five months of operation. The park re-opened in 2009 with new owners and a new name, but closed at the end of the season. All of the rides and attractions were removed from the grounds, and Dragon's Run was disassembled and shipped to Dragon Park Ha Long in Vietnam, where it reopened in 2017.

Freestyle Music Park, formerly called Hard Rock Park, was a music-themed amusement park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Built on 55 acres (22 ha), the park was located at the intersection of US 501 and the Intracoastal Waterway. It included part of the former Waccamaw Factory Shoppes in Fantasy Harbour, and its headquarters was located in Mall 3.The park opened to the public on April 15, 2008, but following financial issues, it closed later that year on September 24. It reopened under the Freestyle brand on May 23, 2009, but it closed permanently at the end of the season due to mounting financial problems and lawsuits.

Konig is an unincorporated community and populated place in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It is located near the intersections of US Route 17 & US Route 501 in Myrtle Beach.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a public technical college in Conway, South Carolina. It is a part of the South Carolina Technical College System. HGTC is the fourth largest technical college in the state, and offers over 65 degree and certificate programs in Golf & Sports Turf Technology, Arts & Science, Business, Engineering & Industrial Technology, Health Science, Information/Computer Technology, and Public Service Technology. Tourism programs that have been added help the local economy. 90 percent of graduates stay in the area.HGTC currently has three campuses. In addition to the main campus on U.S. 501 next to Coastal Carolina University in Conway (33.7964°N 79.0033°W / 33.7964; -79.0033 (Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Conway Campus)), the school has campuses in Myrtle Beach (33.6591°N 78.9416°W / 33.6591; -78.9416 (Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Grand Strand Campus)) and Georgetown (33.3205°N 79.3213°W / 33.3205; -79.3213 (Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Georgetown Campus)). Students can also take classes online. The Conway campus has 13 buildings on 50 acres (20.2 ha).The Grand Strand Campus Conference and Business Center near The Market Common has meeting space that includes the Thomas C. Maeser Auditorium, a 3,650-square-foot (339 m2) ballroom.

Scholars Academy is a four-year public high school institution located in Conway, South Carolina at Coastal Carolina University. The school was established as part of Horry County Schools for gifted education in 2003.

Coastal Grand Mall is 1,047,732 square feet (97,337.5 m2) super-regional shopping mall is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, located off of US Highway 17 and Harrelson Blvd. and was built in 2004. It is the second largest mall in the state behind the Haywood Mall in Greenville. The mall's anchors include Belk, Dillard's, and JCPenney with Dick's Sporting Goods/Golf Galaxy, Old Navy, and Books-A-Million being "junior anchors." There are over 170 specialty stores and a 14 screen Cinemark movie theater located off of the food court. It is the newest of two malls in Myrtle Beach, with Myrtle Beach Mall being the elder of the two.The mall carries a tropical/beach theme throughout, with a boardwalk theme in the food court. The mall also has an outside entertainment pavilion, which houses various restaurants and stores. There are also several out-parcels to the mall, including many restaurants and various other stores.

Myrtle Waves is a water park attraction in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the largest of the five water parks in the area and in the state. The park has been operating each season since opening on June 1, 1985. As of the 2019 season it featured 22 slides and attractions across 12 water rides. The park is owned by Lazarus Entertainment Group which also maintains the Broadway Grand Prix and Wild Water and Wheels family entertainment venues in Myrtle Beach.In 2017, the park's ten story tall "Turbo Twisters" attraction was featured on the Travel Channel's Xtreme Waterparks show in.Lazarus was sued in 2019 by a customer who alleged she contracted a flesh-eating organism at the Wild Water and Wheels park in 2017. Both Wild Water and Wheels and Myrtle Waves passed inspection by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control at the time.
