The Herald News is a daily broadsheet newspaper headquartered in Woodland Park, New Jersey, that focuses on the Passaic County, New Jersey area. Today's Herald News is descended from several papers, but did not come to be until two Passaic County papers out of Passaic and Paterson merged in 1988.The Herald News is an edition of The Record, a publication serving Bergen County, New Jersey that was formerly based in Hackensack, New Jersey. Both papers are owned by Gannett Company, which purchased Herald News parent North Jersey Media Group in 2016.

Slippery Rock Brook is a tributary of the Passaic River in Passaic County, New Jersey in the United States. Slippery Rock Brook flows north as it drains part of the western flank of First Watchung Mountain. Traveling south from its confluence with the Passaic River, it passes through the city of Paterson and the borough of Woodland Park.

Molly Ann Brook (sometimes Molly Ann's Brook) is a tributary of the Passaic River which flows south between the northern ranges of First Watchung Mountain and Second Watchung Mountain in Passaic County and Bergen County, New Jersey. Traveling north from its confluence with the Passaic River, Molly Ann Brook passes through the city of Paterson and the boroughs of Haledon, Prospect Park, North Haledon and Franklin Lakes.

Westside Park is a 26.6-acre (10.8 ha) municipal park located between the Passaic River and Totowa Avenue in the city of Paterson in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. It is home to the historic Van Houten House, which was built in 1831 and was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) in 1936. The two-story brick house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1973, for its significance in architecture (Dutch Colonial) and urban planning.

John F. Kennedy Educational Complex (or John F. Kennedy High School) is a four-year public high school in Paterson, United States, that serves the western section of Paterson. Kennedy High School, which serves students in ninth through twelfth grade, is a part of the Paterson Public Schools. 93% of the students are of minority races, and a majority of them speak either a non-English language at home or are very limited in English. The school uses the Infinite Campus school management system for tasks such as student attendance and grading, and full online grade access is available online. In 2011, the school was split into theme schools, with four smaller academies operating within the high school, in order to give students a choice in areas they wanted to pursue. These schools are: School of Architecture and Construction Trades (ACT) School of Business, Technology, Marketing and Finance (BTMF) School of Education and Training (SET) School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1928. It has suffered low rankings when it comes to official lists of top public schools in New Jersey, as well as accusations of violence and poor conduct by the school's instructors and the Paterson Education Association. As of the 2022–23 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,053 students and 141.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.6:1. There were 1,035 students (50.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 25 (1.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Garrett Morgan Academy is a four-year public high school in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States, that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades operating as part of the Paterson Public Schools. The school focuses on STEM education and operates within International High School. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 183 students. There were 94 students (51.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch.

International High School is a four-year public high school in Paterson, Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades operating as part of the Paterson Public Schools. The Hillery Street Bridge is a vehicular bridge over the Passaic River in Totowa and Woodland Park, New Jersey. The Pratt pony truss carries Hillery Street and Totowa Road and is designated County Route 644. It was originally built in 1898 and rehabilitated in 1973. It was extensively refurbished in 2009 to its original historic state, including its original lattice-work sidewalk railings. A historic bridge survey conducted by the New Jersey Department of Transportation from 1991–1994 determined that the bridge was eligible for listing on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
