Souldern is a village and civil parish in Oxfordshire about 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Bicester and a similar distance southeast of Banbury. The parish is bounded to the west by the River Cherwell and to the east by field boundaries. Its northern boundary is Ockley Brook, a tributary of the Cherwell that forms the county boundary with Northamptonshire. The parish's southern boundaries are the main road between Bicester and Adderbury and the minor road between Souldern and Somerton. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 370.Souldern's toponym is derived from the Old English Sulh-þorn meaning "Thorn-bush in a gully".

Aynhoe Park (alternately known as Aynho Park) is a 17th-century country estate consisting of land and buildings that were rebuilt after the English Civil War on the southern edge of the stone-built village of Aynho, Northamptonshire, England. It overlooks the Cherwell valley that divides Northamptonshire from Oxfordshire. The core buildings represent four architectural periods: Jacobean, Carolean and both the early 18th and 19th centuries.The estate has been owned by RH since 2020. It is the site of their retail and hospitality experience "RH England, The Gallery at Aynho Park", and also the location of an active and renowned white deer farm producing high-end venison. Up to 1954, it was the family home of the Cartwright family. Since then, it was used for fifty years as a retirement apartment complex, and has for the last twenty years been an events-led, multi-use site. It has been listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England since September 1953. Its wider grounds form part of a Grade II listed 'Park and Garden'.

Aynho (, formerly spelt Aynhoe) is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, on the edge of the Cherwell valley 6 miles (9.7 km) south-east of the north Oxfordshire town of Banbury and 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Brackley. Along with its neighbour Croughton 2 miles (3.2 km) to the east, it is one of the two southernmost villages in Northamptonshire. It is the southernmost settlement in Northamptonshire and indeed the entire English East Midlands region.

The Portway, a road that predates the Roman conquest of Britain, runs north–south parallel with the River Cherwell and passes through the western part of the parish. The village's toponym is derived from Fyrht-wielle or Fyrht-welle, which is Old English for a wishing well.

Croughton is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, about 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Brackley. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 992.The village is on the B4031 road about 390 feet (120 m) above sea level, on the south side of an east–west ridge. The parish is 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) wide east–west and 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) wide north–south. Its southern boundary is Ockley Brook, which also forms part of the county boundary with Oxfordshire. Ockley Brook is a tributary of the River Cherwell. Croughton is Northamptonshire's second most southerly village, second only to neighbouring Aynho.
