Walford, Shropshire

Yeaton is a small village in Shropshire, England. It is situated in the parish of Baschurch. The River Perry flows by to the south, and on the other side is the hamlet of Grafton.

The Corbet School is a mixed secondary school located in Baschurch in the English county of Shropshire.Originally known as Baschurch Secondary Modern School, later the school became comprehensive and went on to gain specialist status as a Technology College. In September 2011 The Corbet School converted to academy status. The Corbet School offers GCSEs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils.

Baschurch is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It lies in the north of Shropshire. The village had a population of 2,503 as of the 2011 census. Shrewsbury is to the south-east, Oswestry is to the north-west, and Wem is to the north-east of Baschurch. The village is also close to Ruyton-XI-Towns.

Baschurch railway station was a minor station located about ten miles north of Shrewsbury on the GWR's Paddington to Birkenhead main line. Today this is part of the Shrewsbury to Chester line. The station building (now a private house) can be seen on the west side of the line adjacent Baschurch level crossing; it was designed by Thomas Mainwaring Penson.

Old Woods is a hamlet in Shropshire, England, located 4 miles (6.4 km) to the north-west of Shrewsbury. It is alternatively known and spelt as Oldwood, Oldwoods and Old Wood.

Adcote School is a non-selective independent day and boarding school for girls, located in the village of Little Ness, 5 miles (8.0 km) northwest of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. The school was founded in 1907, and is set in a Grade I listed country house built in 1879 for Rebecca Darby, the widow of Alfred Darby I (1807–52) and a great niece of Abraham Darby. The Darbys were the iron-master family who built Ironbridge. The school has a Junior School that takes girls aged 7 to 11, a Senior School for girls aged 11 to 16 and a Sixth Form taking girls from 16 to 19. As of April 2016, the school is owned by IQ Education (IQE), a Chinese backed education company based in Birmingham. The school transferred from a charity to a limited company status, managed by IQ Schools Group. The school is a sister school to Myddelton College in Denbigh, owned by the same company.The school is a member of the Girls School Association, the Independent Schools Association (ISA) and the Independent Schools Council. On 26 February 2021, the school won the 'ISA Senior School of the Year Award'.

Forton Heath is a hamlet in Shropshire, England. It is located north of Montford Bridge, near to the small village of Fitz and near to the hamlets of Broomfields, Mytton and Grafton. It is in the parish of Pimhill. There is a large disused airfield here.

Oldwoods Halt was a minor station located north of Shrewsbury on the GWR's Paddington to Birkenhead Woodside main line. It was opened in the nineteen thirties as part of the GWR's halt construction programme, aimed at combatting growing competition from bus services. Today the route is part of the Shrewsbury to Chester line. Nothing now remains of the halt although the area of the adjacent goods siding/s can still be seen on the west side of the line.

Broomfields is a hamlet in Shropshire, England. It is located north of Montford Bridge and near to the hamlets of Forton Heath and Grafton. It is in the parish of Montford. It used to have its own 7 1/4 gauge garden railway at Broomfields Villa called Broomfields Garden Railway (BGR) from the late 1980s until 2008 when the house was sold, a video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLkMdJS7jho Looking from Google Earth the trackbed around the field the track used to be is visible. Royal Air Force Montford Bridge, or more simply RAF Montford Bridge, is a former Royal Air Force satellite station, located near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.

Fitz is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Pimhill, in Shropshire, England. It is close to the River Severn, downstream from Montford Bridge and upstream of Shelton, near Shrewsbury. In 1931 the parish had a population of 241. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished to form Pimhill, part also went to Montford.Fitz has a red brick church named for Saint Peter and Saint Paul, built in 1722 and restored in 1915 by Sir Aston Webb. Eighteenth-century mathematician Edward Waring is buried in the churchyard. Fitz Manor, which dates at the oldest to about 1450, is run as a bed and breakfast establishment and is grade II listed building.
