Bunnythorpe

Bunnythorpe railway station was a station on the North Island Main Trunk in New Zealand, serving the village of Bunnythorpe.The station opened on 19 October 1876 and closed on 6 December 1981 for goods traffic. When closed for passengers on 13 April 1985, the crossing loop was relocated to Taonui.

Kelvin Grove is a suburb of Palmerston North on New Zealand's North Island. It is bounded on the north by the North Island Main Trunk railway, Manawatū District and Milson, on the west by Palmerston North–Gisborne Line and Roslyn, the south by the Manawatū River, and the east by James Line and Whakarongo. It was identified as one of New Zealand's fastest growth suburbs in November 2016.The lower North Island distribution centres of Foodstuffs, Coca-Cola Amatil and Woolworths New Zealand are located in Kelvin Grove. The national customer centre of Toyota New Zealand and the Radius Peppertree rest home and hospital is also located on Roberts Line.Many Kelvin Grove street name are named after New Zealand places, such as Kaimanawa, Anakiwa, Karamea, Mahia and Wairau. Local parks include Kaimanawa Park, Celaeno Park, Kelvin Grove Park, Linklater Block, Schnell Reserve, Schnell Esplanade Reserve, Robêrt Reserve, Frederick Krull Reserve, Dahlstrom Reserve, James Line Reserve and Parnell Reserve.

Cornerstone Christian School is an integrated co-educational Area School (combined Primary and Secondary) for Years 1–13 in the city of Palmerston North, New Zealand. The school is divided by an administrative block between the junior and senior areas, after the senior area the newly installed intermediate block is situated.

Roslyn is a suburb in the city of Palmerston North, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. It is located 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-east of the central city and bounded on the north by the North Island Main Trunk Railway (Milson), on the east by Palmerston North-Gisborne Railway (Kelvin Grove), the south by Main Street East (Terrace End) and the west by Ruahine Street (Palmerston North Hospital Area). Roslyn is also located 2.1 km SE from Palmerston North International Airport. The suburb is predominantly residential and at the 2018 Census it had a population of 2,364.

Milson is a suburb of Palmerston North, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. The suburb is located to the north of the city, beyond the North Island Main Trunk Rail. Milson is mostly a residential suburb with a population of 6,246 (2018). Milson is divided into a residential zone in the west and central and an industrial zone in the east. Palmerston North Airport and Palmerston North railway station are in Milson. Milson was part of the Papaioea Ward of Palmerston North City Council until 2013. It was part of the Manawatu electorate until 1996, when it became part of the Rangitikei electorate. Many other local streets and parks have a space or US presidential theme. For example, Apollo Park has a spaced-themed playground and a butterfly park. Other parks include Colquhoun Park, John F Kennedy Park, Clearview Park, Kennedy Park, Paradise Park, Pinedale Reserve, Langley Reserve, Clearview Reserve, Jefferson Reserve and Mangaone Stream Esplanade Reserve.

Freyberg High School (Māori: Te Kura o Te Pou Hōia) is a state co-educational secondary school located in the suburb of Roslyn in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Freyberg High School is named for hero of both world wars, Lord Bernard Freyberg, who is known for his service in the Gallipoli Campaign during the First World War and later service commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Force during the Second World War. Freyberg served as the 7th Governor-General of New Zealand from 1946 to 1952. Opening in 1955 as the city's fourth state secondary school, Freyberg High School is now one of the largest schools in Palmerston North, with a roll of 1113 students as of April 2023, behind Palmerston North Boys' High School and Palmerston North Girls' High School. The school is located at the end of Freyberg Street, Palmerston North and is bordered by Skoglund Park on the east and Ross Intermediate School on the west. To the north are the netball courts of Vautier Park. Also present is the Freyberg Community Pool, which is open to the public for leisure.

Ross Intermediate is a state co-educational intermediate school located in the Palmerston North, New Zealand suburb of Roslyn. It is the first school in New Zealand to have its own television station and laptop programme. The school television station has since been discontinued. Opening in 1958, Ross Intermediate has a school roll of 496 students as of April 2023. Students are placed in a composite class on the first day of Year 7. Students usually stay with the same teacher for two years after attending the school. As of 2015, class sizes are no more than 24 students. However, the school tries to keep numbers at 23 students per class.

Palmerston North Hospital is the main public hospital in Palmerston North, New Zealand. The hospital is located at the northern end of Ruahine Street, 2 km (1.2 mi) northeast of The Square. It is the main hospital run by the MidCentral District Health Board, which primarily serves Palmerston North and the surrounding Manawatū, Tararua and Horowhenua districts. The hospital has 354 inpatient beds as of 2020. The hospital is a major trauma centre, one of four in the lower North Island alongside Hawke's Bay Hospital, Whanganui Hospital and Wellington Regional Hospital.

The Whakarongo Railway Station was a passenger rail station on the Palmerston North to Gisborne line, in the suburb of Whakarongo in the north of Palmerston North. The station was situated between the Terrace End Station and Ashhurst Station. The station opened on 9 March 1891. It closed to passengers in the 1960s and was demolished in 1967 likely due to the opening of the new Palmerston North Railway Station. An adjacent goods-yard was uplifted in the 1980s, with closure to all traffic on 30 October 1983. Only a single track through the station site now remains.

St Peter's College is a state-integrated Catholic co-ed composite College in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It serves approximately 731 students from Year 7 to Year 13. The school's campus includes the historic St Anskar's Chapel, which was given to the school by the Dannevirke Catholic community.

Whakarongo is a suburb of Palmerston North, New Zealand, between the city and Ashhurst. It is mainly rural, and features many vegetable gardens. Whakarongo was originally named Stoney Creek and along with neighbouring Kelvin Grove was part of the Stoney Creek Scandinavian and Roadmen's Block. The area was one of the first Special Settlements established by the Government (along with Karere Scandinavian Block, between Awapuni and Longburn).The original Scandinavian settlers were the first to arrive under Vogel's Immigration and Public Works Scheme. The majority arrived on the second ship (England) which arrived in April 1871, with a handful from the first ship (Celaeno) which arrived in February 1871. The Roadmen were mainly the British 'workmates' of the Scandinavian settlers.Kelvin Grove Cemetery was established in Whakarongo in 1927.There are no parks in the area.State Highway 3 passes through Whakarongo on Napier Road. Stoney Creek Road, named after the original settlement, connects the area with Bunnythorpe.

Terrace End Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Almost 10,000 people have been buried in the cemetery since Rangitāne gifted the land to the fledgling Palmerston North settlement in 1875.Plots are now closed, but the descendants of those buried at the cemetery can be buried with their relatives. The cemetery was replaced by Kelvin Grove Cemetery in 1927.
