Iwamotocho Station

Iwamotochō (岩本町) is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It consists of 3 chōme. This article also deals with Kanda-Iwamotochō (神田岩本町). As of April 1, 2007, the total population of the two districts is 1,989. Iwamotochō is located on the northeastern part of Chiyoda. The area consisting of both Iwamotochō and Kanda-Iwamotochō borders Kanda-Sakumakaji and Kanda-Sakumachō to the north; Higashi-Kanda to the east; Nihonbashi-Kodenmachō and Nihonbashi-Honchō, Chūō to the south; and Kanda-Sudachō, Kanda-Higashimatsushitachō, Kanda-Higashikonyachō, Kanda-Konyachō, Kanda-Nishifukudachō and Kanda-Mikurachō to the west. Showa-Dori Avenue runs between Iwamotochō and Kanda-Iwamotochō. Iwamotochō, located east to the avenue, has already undergone modernization of the addressing system while, in Kanda-Iwamotochō, located west to the avenue, the modernization has not been enforced yet. In Chiyoda, many districts in the Kanda area has the prefix Kanda-; the addressing system modernization has not been enforced in such districts.

Higashikonyachō (東紺屋町), officially Kanda-Higashikonyachō (神田東紺屋町), is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. As of April 1, 2007, its population is 55. Its postal code is 101–0034. This district is located on the northeastern part of Chiyoda Ward. It borders Kanda-Higashimatsushitachō on the north, (across Shōwa-dōri Avenue) Iwamotochō on the east, Kanda-Konyachō on the south, and Kanda-Kitanorimonochō and Kanda-Konyachō on the west. It is a commercial district near the east exit of Kanda Station.

Higashimatsushitachō (東松下町), or officially Kanda-Higashimatsushitachō (神田東松下町), is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. As of April 1, 2007, the district's population is 198. Its postal code is 101-0042. Kanda-Higashimatsushitachō is located on the northeastern part. It borders Kanda-Sudachō to the north, Iwamotochō and Kanda-Iwamotochō to the east, Kanda-Higashikonyachō to the south, Kanda-Konyachō and Kanda-Tomiyamachō to the southwest, and Kanda-Kajichō to the west. Kanda-Higashimatsushitachō is a business district located near the east exit of the Kanda Station.

Kitanorimonochō (北乗物町), or officially Kanda-Kitanorimonochō (神田北乗物町), is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. As of April 1, 2007, its population is 90. Its postal code is 101-0036. This district is located in the northeast part of the Chiyoda ward. It borders Kanda-Konyachō (North) to the north, Kanda-Higashikonyachō and Kanda-Higashimatsushitachō to the east, Kanda-Konyachō (South) to the south, and Kajichō to the west.

Hanaokachō (花岡町), or officially Kanda-Hanaokachō (神田花岡町), is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. As of April 1, 2007, the population of this district is 0. Kanda-Hanaokachō is located on the northeastern part of the Chiyoda ward. It borders Kanda-Aioichō and Kanda-Matsunagachō to the north, Kanda-Sakumachō to the east and south, and Soto-Kanda 1-chōme to the west. This district houses the JR Line Akihabara Station, the bus traffic circle in front of the station, the Tsukuba Express Akihabara Station, atré vie (the department store adjacent to the Akihabara Station and owned by the JR East), and the Yodobashi-Akiba commercial complex. Note that Yodobashi-Akiba's site is partly located on Kanda-Matsunagachō, too.

Aioichō (相生町), or officially Kanda-Aioichō (神田相生町) is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. The closest station is Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Akihabara Station, which is located in Kanda-Matsunagachō, Kanda-Hanaokachō and Kanda-Neribeichō. While Yamanote Line and Keihin–Tōhoku Line run in the district, JR Akihabara Station is located in Kanda-Hanaokachō.

Akihabara (Japanese: 秋葉原) is a common name for the area around Akihabara Station in the Chiyoda ward of Tokyo, Japan. Administratively, the area called Akihabara mainly belongs to the Sotokanda (外神田) and Kanda-Sakumachō districts in Chiyoda. There exists an administrative district called Akihabara in the Taitō ward further north of Akihabara Station, but it is not the place people generally refer to as Akihabara. The name Akihabara is a shortening of Akibagahara (秋葉ヶ原), which ultimately comes from Akiba (秋葉), named after a fire-controlling deity of a firefighting shrine built after the area was destroyed by a fire in 1869.Akihabara gained the nickname Akihabara Electric Town (秋葉原電気街, Akihabara Denki Gai) shortly after World War II for being a major shopping center for household electronic goods and the post-war black market.Akihabara is considered by many to be the centre of modern Japanese popular culture and a major shopping district for video games, anime, manga, electronics and computer-related goods. Icons from popular anime and manga are displayed prominently on the shops in the area, and numerous maid cafés and some arcades are found throughout the district.

Akihabara Station (秋葉原駅, Akihabara-eki) is a railway station in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward. It is at the center of the Akihabara shopping district specializing in electronic goods.

Nishifukudachō (西福田町), officially Kanda-Nishifukudachō (神田西福田町), is a district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It is a part of the former ward of Kanda. As of April 1, 2007, its population is 17. Its postal code is 101-0037. This district is located on the northeastern part of Chiyoda Ward. It borders Kanda-Higashikonyachō on the north, Iwamotochō on the east, Kanda-Mikurachō on the south, and Kajichō on the west. Located near the east exit of Kanda Station, it is a commercial district with numerous office building and stores.

The Akihabara Radio Kaikan (秋葉原ラジオ会館, Akihabara Rajio Kaikan), Akihabara Radio Hall is a commercial building in Tokyo and is one of the most well-known landmarks in the Akihabara district. The recent building was built in 2014 after the old building was demolished in 2011. The building is 46.5 m high, is ten levels from the ground floor and has two basement levels. The current building primarily hosts stores selling otaku goods. The old 8-story building was built in November 1962 becoming the first high rise building in Akihabara. The building became the home of electronics shops selling component and parts. After the otaku culture started to establish itself in Akihabara, shops selling otaku goods moved into Radio Kaikan.Concerns were raised in 2010 regarding the structural integrity of Radio Kaikan due to the building's age. The building was closed for demolition in August 2011 and a new building was built in its place.

Mansei Bridge (万世橋, Manseibashi) is a concrete single arch bridge across the Kanda River in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The bridge carries National Route 17 across the Kanda River. Two public transport stations and a police station nearby are named after the bridge.Various bridges made of wood or stone were the predecessors to the current bridge, which stands at the location of what was once one of Tokyo's city gates. The latest bridge was constructed in 1930.
