Oakland Technical High School

Ladies' Relief Society Children's Home, is a historical building in downtown Oakland, California Temescal neighborhood. The Ladies' Relief Society Children's Home Building was built in 1901. The three-story brick U-shaped building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 13, 2006. The current building was built in 1907, designed by Alphonso Herman Broad, replaced the 1872 building lost in fire in 1906. Ladies' Relief Society Children's Home was philanthropic group looking after the needy women and children in Oakland. In 1956, Ladies' Relief Society Children's Home was renamed the Matilda E. Brown Ladies' Home Society. The Matilda E. Brown Ladies' Home Society closed in 1940. In 1941 the US Army leased the building for the World War II efforts. In 1947, the Matilda E. Brown Ladies' Home Society building and boys playground next to it, were purchased and donated to The City of Oakland and use as a recreation center. In 2007 the building became home to the Studio One Art Center. In 2009 the Studio One Art Center renovations were completed to update the building. The building was designated an Oakland Landmark #141 on January 6, 2009.

California College of the Arts (CCA) is a private art school. It was founded in Berkeley, California in 1907 and moved to a historic estate in Oakland, California in 1922. In 1996 it opened a second campus in San Francisco, and in 2022 the Oakland campus was closed and merged into the San Francisco campus. CCA enrolls approximately 1,239 undergraduates and 380 graduate students.

A Woman's Place (fully ICI, Information Center Incorporate: A Woman's Place) was a feminist bookstore in Oakland, California. Opened in 1970, it was one of the first two feminist bookstores in the United States.

Fentons Creamery is a historic ice cream parlor and restaurant located on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, California, United States. Fentons is the state’s longest continually operating creamery, with a small herd of dairy cows in West Marin.

The Piedmont Avenue neighborhood is a residential and commercial district in the North Oakland region of Oakland, California. It is named for Piedmont Avenue, a commercial street known for dining and retail. The neighborhood is roughly bounded by Temescal and Broadway on the west, Oakland Avenue and the City of Piedmont (a separate municipality, an enclave within Oakland) on the east, the Mountain View Cemetery on the north, and the MacArthur Freeway section of Interstate 580 on the south.

Treadwell Mansion and Carriage House, is a historic mansion with carriage house built in c. 1875 in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland, California, U.S.. The two buildings used to be part of the campus for California College of the Arts, from 1922 until 2022. The Treadwell Mansion and Carriage House has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 15, 1977; listed as a California Historical Landmark since July 15, 1977; and listed as an Oakland Designated Landmark under the name "Treadwell Hall" since August 5, 1975. It is also known as the James Treadwell Mansion, Treadwell Hall, and Macky Hall.

Commis is a Michelin Guide-starred restaurant in Oakland, in the U.S. state of California.Head chef and owner is James Syhabout. The dishes served reflect the background of head chef Syhabout, who has a Thai mother and Chinese father who introduced him to both styles of cooking.

Kaiser Oakland Medical Center is a hospital in Oakland, California. It is located at the intersection of Broadway and West MacArthur Boulevard, immediately north of Downtown. It is the flagship hospital of Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed care organization in the United States, through its Kaiser Foundation Hospitals division.

Chapel of the Chimes was founded as California Electric Crematory in 1909 as a crematory and columbarium at 4499 Piedmont Avenue, at the entrance of Mountain View cemetery in Oakland, California. The present building dates largely from a 1928 redevelopment based on the designs of the architect Julia Morgan. The Spanish Gothic architecture features Moorish motifs and the interior is a maze of small rooms featuring ornate stonework, statues, gardens, fountains and mosaics.

The Camino of Rancho San Antonio is a former road that was located in Alameda County, California. The camino originally reached from Fruitvale to Mission San José. It eventually expanded to travel from the Temescal area of Oakland to San Pablo.

Temescal (Spanish for "sweat lodge") is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Oakland, California, located in North Oakland, and centered on Telegraph Avenue. The neighborhood derives its name from Temescal Creek, a significant watercourse in the city.

The Rockridge-Temescal Greenbelt also commonly known as Frog Park is a public park and greenway that connects the neighborhoods of Temescal and Rockridge in Oakland, California.The land it sits on was designated as a public space during the 1960's undergrounding of the Temescal Creek that now runs under it. The park began to be built in 2001 and it encompasses two older parks: the Hardy and Redondo parks, subsequently popularly known as Big Frog and Little Frog parks. Its construction was led by the community volunteer group Friends of the Rockridge-Temescal Greenbelt (FROG), which continues to maintain and improve the park. While Temescal Creek remains mostly underground, the construction of the park brought back a reconstituted creek filled by water pumped up from the culvert below.
