The Monument to the Martyrs of the 1830 Revolution (French: Monument aux martyrs de la révolution de 1830, Dutch: Monument voor de martelaren van de revolutie van 1830), also known as the Pro Patria Monument (lit. 'Monument to the Fatherland'), is an allegorical monument on the Place des Martyrs/Martelaarsplein in Brussels, Belgium, commemorating the victims of the Belgian Revolution of 1830.The monument was designed in 1836 by the architect Louis Roelandt in neoclassical style, sculpted by the sculptor Guillaume Geefs, and inaugurated in 1838. However, the sculpted decoration made up of bas-reliefs and angels in white marble was only completed by Geefs in 1849. It received protected status in 1963.

Notre Dame du Bon Succès is a wooden statue of the Madonna and Child in the church of Notre Dame du Finistère in Brussels. Copies of this statue are known as Our Lady of Aberdeen in Scotland. The statue came to Brussels in 1625. It is believed that it was sent by William Laing, the Procurer for the King of Spain, from Aberdeen to Dunkirk. Its history before 1625 is based on uncertain records, but after that date its story is well documented. The statue is made from oak and walnut. There is evidence of repairs from X-ray computed tomography (CT) scanning. Copies of it were made in 1895 for the Catholic cathedral in Aberdeen and the Convent of the Sacred Heart at Queen's Cross, Aberdeen. It is believed that the Brussels statue came from a chapel at the north end of the Bridge of Dee in Aberdeen which was built between 1527 and 1530. The Rue Neuve (French) or Nieuwstraat (Dutch), meaning "New Street", is a pedestrian street in central Brussels, Belgium. It runs between the Place de la Monnaie/Muntplein to the south and the Place Charles Rogier/Karel Rogierplein to the north. The Rue Neuve and its close surroundings are the second most popular shopping area in Belgium by number of shoppers, after Meir in Antwerp. It is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) stations De Brouckère (on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5) and Rogier (on lines 2, 3, 4 and 6).

The L'Innovation fire was a fire which took place at the À L'Innovation department store on the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat in Brussels, Belgium, on 22 May 1967. More than 150 firefighters were mobilised to fight it, 325 people were killed, 80 injured, and the department store itself, the work of the architect Victor Horta, was destroyed. The L'Innovation fire remains the deadliest fire in Belgian history.

The Museum of the National Bank of Belgium is a museum belonging to the National Bank of Belgium in Brussels, Belgium. Opened in 1982, it is one of the oldest central bank museums in Europe. The Museum is divided into three exhibits: the history of money, the history of the National Bank of Belgium, and the interactions between people and money and the design of money. The Museum has a collection of old Belgian coins and explains the emergence of currency through the centuries.

The Passage du Nord (French) or Noorddoorgang (Dutch), meaning "Northern Passage", is a glazed shopping arcade in central Brussels, Belgium. It was built in 1881–82 in an eclectic style by Henri Rieck, following the covering of the Senne and the creation of the Central Boulevards. It is decorated with 32 caryatids in the neoclassical style by Jean-François-Joseph Bertheux and sculptures and putti by Constant Albert Desenfants.The gallery is located between the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat and the Boulevard Adolphe Max/Adolphe Maxlaan. It is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) station De Brouckère on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5.

The Boulevard Adolphe Max (French) or Adolphe Maxlaan (Dutch) is a central boulevard in Brussels, Belgium. It was created following the covering of the river Senne (1867–1871), and bears the name of a former mayor of the City of Brussels, Adolphe Max (1869–1939). The Boulevard Adolphe Max is located between the Place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein and the Place Charles Rogier/Karel Rogierplein, in the extension of the Boulevard Anspach/Anspachlaan. It runs parallel to Brussels' busiest shopping street, the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat. It is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) stations De Brouckère (on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5) and Rogier (on lines 2, 3, 4 and 6).

The Hotel Métropole was a five-star luxury hotel in central Brussels, Belgium. Built in an eclectic style with neo-Renaissance and Louis XVI influences and opened to customers in 1895, it was the only 19th-century hotel still in operation in Brussels in the 21st century until it closed its doors in April 2020 after 125 years of continuous operation. The hotel had 251 rooms and 22 spacious suites. As of 1 January 2022, its former brasserie, the Café Métropole, located next door, remains in use. The hotel's former building is located at 31, place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein, next to the Boulevard Adolphe Max/Adolphe Maxlaan and the Northern Passage glazed shopping arcade, as well as Brussels' busiest shopping street; the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat. This area is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) station De Brouckère on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5.

Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (HUBrussel or HUB) was a Dutch language university founded in 2007. HUBrussel was the result of a merger between Brussels-based colleges European University College Brussels, Vlekho, HONIM and Catholic University of Brussels (KUBrussel).HUBrussel offered degrees both at university and college level for the Flemish Community of Belgium. Degrees were offered both in Dutch and in English. From 2013 on, university level degrees were organised by KU Leuven. Professional bachelor's degrees remained at HUB till HUB itself merged with the Katholieke Hogeschool Sint-Lieven in 2014 and became Odisee.

The House of Jacques-Louis David is a neoclassical building located at 7, rue Léopold (formerly rue Guillaume) in Brussels, Belgium, where the painter died on 29 December 1825.

The Royal Theatre of La Monnaie (French: Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Dutch: Koninklijke Muntschouwburg; both translating as the "Royal Theatre of the Mint"), is an opera house in central Brussels, Belgium. The National Opera of Belgium, a federal institution, takes the name of this theatre in which it is housed—La Monnaie in French or De Munt in Dutch—referring both to the building as well as the opera company. As Belgium's leading opera house, it is one of the few cultural institutions which receive financial support from the Federal Government of Belgium. Other opera houses in Belgium, such as the Vlaamse Opera and the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, are funded by regional governments. La Monnaie is located on the Place de la Monnaie/Muntplein, not far from the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat and the Place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein. The current edifice is the third theatre on the site. The facade dates from 1818 with major alterations made in 1856 and 1986. The foyer and auditorium date from 1856, but almost every other element of the present building was extensively renovated in the 1980s. It is served by De Brouckère metro station on lines 1 and 5 of the Brussels Metro.

À la Mort Subite is a typical Brussels café, located at Rue Montagne-aux-Herbes Potagères 7, which was originally run by Théophile Vossen, the inventor of Mort Subite beer. It is known for its authentic early-20th-century decor. The café is still run by the Vossen family but the beer is now produced by the Mort Subite brewery, a subsidiary of Alken-Maes, itself a subsidiary of Heineken. The café has been designated as a heritage site since September 17, 1998.Tom Hooper's movie The Danish Girl, with Matthias Schoenaerts, was partly filmed there.
