The Royal Theatre of La Monnaie (French: Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Dutch: Koninklijke Muntschouwburg; both translating as the "Royal Theatre of the Mint"), is an opera house in central Brussels, Belgium. The National Opera of Belgium, a federal institution, takes the name of this theatre in which it is housed—La Monnaie in French or De Munt in Dutch—referring both to the building as well as the opera company. As Belgium's leading opera house, it is one of the few cultural institutions which receive financial support from the Federal Government of Belgium. Other opera houses in Belgium, such as the Vlaamse Opera and the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, are funded by regional governments. La Monnaie is located on the Place de la Monnaie/Muntplein, not far from the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat and the Place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein. The current edifice is the third theatre on the site. The facade dates from 1818 with major alterations made in 1856 and 1986. The foyer and auditorium date from 1856, but almost every other element of the present building was extensively renovated in the 1980s. It is served by De Brouckère metro station on lines 1 and 5 of the Brussels Metro.

Jeanneke Pis (Dutch: [ˌʒɑnəkə ˈpɪs]; Dutch for 'Little Pissing Joan') is a modern fountain sculpture in central Brussels, Belgium. It was commissioned by Denis-Adrien Debouvrie in 1985 and erected in 1987 as a counterpoint to the city's famous Manneken Pis. The 50-centimetre (20 in) bronze statue depicts a little girl with short pigtails, squatting and urinating on a blue-grey limestone base. Jeanneke Pis is located north of the Grand Place (Brussels' main square), on the eastern side of the Impasse de la Fidélité/Getrouwheidsgang, a narrow cul-de-sac some 30 metres (100 ft) long leading northwards off the restaurant-packed Rue des Bouchers/Beenhouwersstraat. The sculpture is now protected from vandalism by iron bars.

Delirium Café is a bar in Brussels, Belgium, known for its long beer list, standing at 2,004 brands in January 2004 as recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. On offer are beers from over 60 countries, including many Belgian beers.The bar is located in the small alley called Impasse de la Fidélité/Getrouwheidsgang, only a couple of hundred metres from the Grand Place. The Jeanneke Pis statue is across the street from the entrance. The bar's name comes from the beer Delirium Tremens, whose pink elephant symbol also decorates the café's entrance. Delirium Café has been expanding internationally, opening franchises in Rio de Janeiro (2010), in Tokyo (2011), São Paulo and Warsaw (2014), Lisbon (2017), Toulouse and Reims (dates unknown), Leesburg, Virginia, US (2017), Strasbourg (2017), and Kuala Lumpur (2018).

The Théâtre royal des Galeries is a theatre in Brussels subsidized by the French Community of Belgium (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles in French), located in the Saint-Hubert Royal Galleries. It opened in 1847 and has continuously hosted theatrical activities ever since.

The Place de la Monnaie (French) or Muntplein (Dutch), meaning "Mint Square", is a major square in central Brussels, Belgium. The Royal Theatre of La Monnaie, home to the National Opera of Belgium, is located on this square. It is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) station De Brouckère on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5.

À la Mort Subite is a typical Brussels café, located at Rue Montagne-aux-Herbes Potagères 7, which was originally run by Théophile Vossen, the inventor of Mort Subite beer. It is known for its authentic early-20th-century decor. The café is still run by the Vossen family but the beer is now produced by the Mort Subite brewery, a subsidiary of Alken-Maes, itself a subsidiary of Heineken. The café has been designated as a heritage site since September 17, 1998.Tom Hooper's movie The Danish Girl, with Matthias Schoenaerts, was partly filmed there.

The Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries (French: Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, Dutch: Koninklijke Sint-Hubertusgalerijen) is an ensemble of glazed shopping arcades in central Brussels, Belgium. Designed and built by architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaer between 1846 and 1847, they precede other famous 19th-century European shopping arcades such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan (Italy) and The Passage in St Petersburg (Russia). Like them, they have twin regular facades with distant origins in Vasari's long narrow street-like courtyard of the Uffizi in Florence, with glazed arched shopfronts separated by pilasters and two upper floors, all in an Italianate Cinquecento style, under an arched glass-paned roof with a delicate cast-iron framework.

The Royal Theatre Toone (French: Théâtre royal de Toone, Dutch: Koninklijk Poppentheater Toone), is a folkloric theatre of marionettes in central Brussels, Belgium, active since 1830, and the only traditional Brussels puppet theatre still in operation. Originally founded by Antoine "Toone" Genty in the Marolles/Marollen district of Brussels, since 1966, the theatre has been located at the end of two narrow alleyways, at 66, rue du Marché aux Herbes/Grasmarkt, near the Grand Place. The theatre's current premises also house a tavern and a small puppetry museum. The current director is Nicolas Géal, also known as Toone VIII.The theatre still puts on puppet plays in the Brusselian dialect (also sometimes referred to as Marols or Marollien), the traditional Brabantian dialect of Brussels. Performances are also given in other languages interspersed with Brusselian.

The Maison de l'Agneau Blanc (lit. 'House of the White Lamb') or simply l'Agneau Blanc is a baroque house, built in 1696, located at number 42 of the rue du Marché aux Herbes (lit. 'Herb Market Street') in Brussels, parallel to the Grand Place. The sculptures on the facade are the work of Peter Van Dievoet, commissioned by Jean De Broe.It has been a protected heritage site since 2011.

Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (HUBrussel or HUB) was a Dutch language university founded in 2007. HUBrussel was the result of a merger between Brussels-based colleges European University College Brussels, Vlekho, HONIM and Catholic University of Brussels (KUBrussel).HUBrussel offered degrees both at university and college level for the Flemish Community of Belgium. Degrees were offered both in Dutch and in English. From 2013 on, university level degrees were organised by KU Leuven. Professional bachelor's degrees remained at HUB till HUB itself merged with the Katholieke Hogeschool Sint-Lieven in 2014 and became Odisee.

The Hotel Métropole was a five-star luxury hotel in central Brussels, Belgium. Built in an eclectic style with neo-Renaissance and Louis XVI influences and opened to customers in 1895, it was the only 19th-century hotel still in operation in Brussels in the 21st century until it closed its doors in April 2020 after 125 years of continuous operation. The hotel had 251 rooms and 22 spacious suites. As of 1 January 2022, its former brasserie, the Café Métropole, located next door, remains in use. The hotel's former building is located at 31, place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein, next to the Boulevard Adolphe Max/Adolphe Maxlaan and the Northern Passage glazed shopping arcade, as well as Brussels' busiest shopping street; the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat. This area is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) station De Brouckère on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5.

The Place des Martyrs (Dutch: Martelaarsplein) is a historic square in central Brussels, Belgium. Its current name, meaning "Martyrs' Square", refers to the martyrs of the September days of the Belgian Revolution of 1830. Originally, the square was called the Place Saint-Michel/Sint-Michielsplein after Saint Michael, patron saint of the City of Brussels. It was laid out in a uniform neoclassical style between 1774 and 1778, based on the designs of the architect Claude Fisco. Over 400 heroes of the Belgian Revolution of 1830 lie buried in a crypt beneath the cobblestones. Many lie not far from where they were shot, in fierce battles amid the Brussels streets and barricades. Today, the square is home to cabinet offices of the Flemish Government, including those of the Flemish Minister-President, as well as a theatre; the Théâtre des Martyrs.The Place des Martyrs is located near the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat, Belgium's second busiest shopping street. It is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) station De Brouckère on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5.
