London Road is a cricket ground in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1914, when Shrewsbury Cricket Club played Wem. Shropshire played their first Minor Counties Championship match at the ground against the Nottinghamshire Second XI in 1957. From 1957 to present, the ground has hosted 40 Minor Counties Championship matches. and 9 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches.London Road has hosted 2 ICC Trophy matches. The first was in the 1979 competition between East Africa and Singapore and the second in the 1986 competition between Canada and Israel.The ground has also held List-A matches. The first List-A match at the ground came in 1984 when a combined Minor Counties team played Derbyshire in the 1984 Benson & Hedges Cup. The following year the Minor Counties played Somerset in the 1985 competition. The next List-A match on London Road came in the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy against Devon. The following year, Shropshire played Gloucestershire in the 2002 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.In local domestic cricket, London Road is the home ground of Shrewsbury Cricket Club who play in the Birmingham and District Premier League.

Shrewsbury College is a further education college in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Previously called Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology and, earlier, Shrewsbury Technical College, the college is based on a campus on London Road. The College provides vocational courses across a range of disciplines and has working environments for students including a commercial restaurant, Origins, a commercial salon, Evolve, and a student zone including a new Student Learning Centre and The Hub. The College is the main provider of vocational education in the county and has a full range of full-time and part-time courses available in the full range of subject areas. In 2019, it was rated Inadequate by Ofsted.

Emstrey is a dispersed hamlet on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, in the English county of Shropshire. The hamlet is located south-east of the town, on the B4380 road to Atcham. At the west end of the hamlet, on London Road, is the Emstrey Crematorium and Cemetery, now run by Dignity plc. The crematorium, originally built and owned by Shrewsbury Borough Council, was opened in 1958, the first such facility in Shropshire. There is a large traffic island, Emstrey Roundabout, where the A5 Shrewsbury by-pass crosses with London Road (the A5064) into Shrewsbury, the Emstrey Bank road (the B4380) to Atcham and Ironbridge, and the former Shrewsbury bypass (also the B4380) towards Meole Brace. Shrewsbury Business Park is located off Thieves Lane (the B4380). It contains a number of modern business units, predominantly professional firms such as lawyers and accountants.

Prestfelde School is an independent co-educational day and boarding preparatory school, located on London Road in Shrewsbury in Shropshire, England, for children between the ages of 3 and 13. As of May 2023, there are 350 pupils on roll. Since 1949, the school has formed part of the Woodard Schools group, founded by the Christian educationalist the Reverend Nathaniel Woodard and as such is affiliated to the largest group of Church of England schools in the country. Originally a school for boys, it diversified during the late 1990s and now has nearly 100 girls. The school is set in 30 acres (120,000 m2) of grounds on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, close to the Lord Hill column.

Betton Strange is a hamlet in the English county of Shropshire. It is only 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Shrewsbury town centre, situated in countryside just beyond the Shrewsbury bypass (the A5) and near the A458. It is located in the civil parish of Berrington, a village 2 miles (3.2 km) to the south. The hamlet lies at an elevation of between 65 metres (213 ft) and 85 metres (279 ft). Further west is the large stone quarry at Sharpstone Hill.Regional Cycle Route 32/33 runs through, on its way from Shrewsbury to Condover. The Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth railway line once ran to the east of the hamlet, but is now dismantled. The postcode is SY5.

Belvidere Bridge (also spelt Belvedere Bridge) is a cast iron arch railway bridge in Shrewsbury, western England, built for the Shrewsbury and Birmingham Railway in 1849. It carries the modern Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury railway line over the River Severn and is a grade II* listed building.

Longner Hall is a Grade I listed country house in Longner, Shropshire, England, some 2 miles (3 km) south-east of Shrewsbury in the civil parish of Atcham. It is constructed of red sandstone ashlar in two storeys to an irregular L-shaped floor plan with a plain tile roof and stands in a 170-acre (70 hectare) landscaped park. The grade II listed chest tomb of an Edward Burton, refused burial at the then parish church of St Chad's, Shrewsbury on his death in 1558, sits in the grounds. The hall was built in the Tudor gothic style in 1803 on the site of an earlier house by architect John Nash for Robert Burton, who was High Sheriff of Shropshire for 1804–05. The Burton family had owned the land at Longner since mediaeval times. The gardens were landscaped at the same time by Humphrey Repton. The estate was inherited in 1841 by banker Robert Burton, head of the banking firm of Burton, Lloyd, Salt, How and Co (otherwise known as the Salop Bank) and Mayor of Shrewsbury for a period in 1835 and again in 1843–44. He commissioned the Shrewsbury architect Edward Haycock to alter and extend the house and outbuildings in 1838. The house is still (2016) privately owned by the Burton family, but guided tours are available on weekday afternoons, at 2 pm and 3.30 pm, from 30 May to 1 July, plus Easter Monday, Early May BH and August BH.(2016)

Belvidere School is a coeducational secondary school located in the Belvidere area of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Belvidere draws 11- to 16-year-olds mainly from the surrounding areas of Monkmoor, Belvidere, Underdale, Abbey Foregate and Cherry Orchard. It is sited in grounds bordering open fields down to the River Severn. The school performs well in local school sport competitions. The school became a Technology College in 2003, specialising in Technology, Science and Mathematics. In 2008 it received a second speciality as a Training School.Previously a community school administered by Shropshire Council, in January 2019 Belvidere School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Central Shropshire Academy Trust.

Lord Hill's Column is a monument located outside of Shropshire Council's headquarters, Shirehall, in the town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. It is a column of the Doric order and measures 133 ft 6 in (40.7 m) in height making it the tallest Doric column in England. It commemorates General Rowland Hill, 1st Viscount Hill, with a 17 ft (5.2 m) tall statue standing on the top of the column. The column is shorter than the 44.5m 'Monument to British Liberty' at Gibside, but the combined height of the column and statue is higher in total. The column was built between 1814 and 1816; its diameter is 2 ft (0.6 m) wider than Nelson's Column, and, not including the pedestal, is 15 ft (4.6 m) higher.

Shirehall is a municipal facility in Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The building, which is the headquarters of Shropshire Council, is just north of Lord Hill's Column.
