Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park

CIGV-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts at 100.7 FM in Penticton, British Columbia, with rebroadcasters in Keremeos and Princeton. Founded by The Robinson Family of Great Valleys Radio in 1981, the station was sold to Newcap Radio in 2011, and approved by the CRTC on February 15, 2012. CIGV is the only country format station in the Okanagan Valley and was rebranded to Country 100.7 on April 27, 2012. On May 14, 2012, at 5:30 a.m., 'Okanagan Mornings with Troy Scott and Roo Phelps' went on the air. Troy Scott was released from the company in August 2012 and became Program Director of CJSU-FM. 100.7 re-branded the morning show as "Okanagan Mornings with Roo Phelps." Scott George hosts Okanagan Afternoons. In February 2017, CIGV-FM rebranded to New Country 100.7.

Okanagan Mountain is a mountain in the Okanagan region of the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada, located on the east side of Okanagan Lake on the immediate south of the city of Kelowna and north of Penticton. It is the core of Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park and its north slopes have also become a residential neighbourhood of Kelowna, much of which was destroyed in the Okanagan Mountain forest fire in 2003. It is part of the Okanagan Highland, a high, hilly plateau-like area between Okanagan Lake and the Monashee Mountains.

A documentary about this affair, Eddy's Kingdom, was released in 2020.On August 16, 2003, a lightning strike near the island started the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Park Fire that burned a large portion of the surrounding park.

The Okanagan ( OH-kə-NAH-gən), also called the Okanagan Valley and sometimes the Okanagan Country, is a region in the Canadian province of British Columbia defined by the basin of Okanagan Lake and the Canadian portion of the Okanagan River. It is part of the Okanagan Country, extending into the United States as Okanogan County in north-central Washington. According to the 2016 Canadian census, the region's population is 362,258. The economy is retirement and commercial-recreation based, with outdoor activities such as boating and watersports, skiing and hiking. The region stretches northwards via the Spallumcheen Valley to Sicamous in the Shuswap Country, and reaches south of the Canada–United States border, where it continues as Okanogan County. The Okanagan as a region is sometimes described as including the Boundary, Similkameen, and Shuswap regions, though this is because of proximity and historic and commercial ties with those areas.

CHOR-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts an adult hits format at 98.5 FM in Summerland, British Columbia. The station is owned by Bell Media and is branded as Bounce 98.5. CHOR began as CKSP at 1450 AM in 1972, as a part-time satellite re-broadcaster of CKOK in Penticton. Okanagan Radio Limited put the station on the air to improve coverage to the north. The first manager of the station was Russ Mitten, who was succeeded by Jim Hart, who became Member of Parliament. The station originally broadcast local programming from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and eventually from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The CKSP call sign was changed by new owners in 1991.

It has no legal borders since it is a neighbourhood and opinions vary as to exactly where Westbank begins and ends. As of January 2020, the City of West Kelowna has a total population of about 35,818.A post office was opened in 1902 and was named for its location on Okanagan Lake. The name was suggested by John Davidson who arrived in the district in 1892.: 292 Self-Government municipal regulatory powers have been given by treaty to the Westbank First Nation (WFN). Westbank First Nation spans 5,340 acres of Reservation land, separated into five land parcels.

Peachland is a district municipality in the Okanagan Valley on the west side of Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 1899 by John Moore Robinson, although the region had long been home to the Okanagan people. Peachland is approximately half-an-hour's drive south of the city of Kelowna and about a 20-minute drive north of Summerland. The Okanagan Valley is very narrow in the area and there are few terraces that mark former lake levels and the former lake bottom. As a result, the city is largely located on a steep sidehill. Like many other areas in the Okanagan, Peachland is rapidly growing, with new residents coming from all across Canada. Across the lake from Peachland is Rattlesnake Island, home of the legendary Ogopogo. Peachland is approximately 370 km from Vancouver, British Columbia, on the British Columbia south coast.

Tsinstikeptum 9, usually referred to as Tsinstikeptum Indian Reserve No. 9, is one of two Indian Reserves of the Westbank First Nation located adjacent to West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. It and Tsinstikeptum Indian Reserve No. 10 are jointly normally referred to as the Westbank Indian Reserve. Tsinstikeptum Indian Reserve No. 9 is located six miles southwest of Kelowna proper, adjacent to McDougall Creek. The reserve is 641.80 ha in area. The southernmost portion of the reserve lies on the shores of Okanagan Lake.

Summerland Secondary School (or SSS) is a public secondary school in Summerland, British Columbia, Canada. It is operated by School District 67 Okanagan Skaha. It is the only secondary school in Summerland and one of three in the school district. The school is fed from Summerland Middle School and two elementary schools. The school also hosts a French Immersion program for all grades.
