Dongri Fort

Dongri is a port city in the Mira-Bhayandar municipality of Thane district, situated just north of Gorai, Mumbai. The word 'Dungaree' (worker's overalls worn in Britain) has its origin from Dongri due to this genre of garment monolithically being manufactured from textile sectors within the confines of the city.

Fort Bassein (Fortaleza de São Sebastião de Baçaím) is a ruined fort of the town of Vasai (Bassein), Maharashtra, India. The structure was formally christened as the Fort of St. Sebastian in the Indo-Portuguese era. The fort is a monument of national importance and is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India.The fort and the town are accessible via the Naigaon Railway Station which itself is in the city of Vasai-Virar, and lies to the immediate north of the city of Mumbai. The Naigaon Railway Station is on the Western Railway line (formerly the Bombay-Baroda railway) in the direction of the Virar railway station.

Uttan is a coastal town just north of Mumbai in Thane district of Maharashtra. A coastal town, it comes under the jurisdiction of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. Part Jurisdiction is also handed over to the Mumbai Meteropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). However the locals have been opposing it, since the Tourism Plan proposed by the MMRDA will hamper the peace and tranquility of the locals. The area is famed for its beach, and fresh fish stock, visited by city-goers over the weekend. It is also famous for its lighthouse. The area has a significant East Indian Catholic and Muslims population.Uttan is a coastal village known for its sea food, quiet locales and sparsely populated areas. This village has much fresh fish like prawns, bombil, bangara, pomfret and chala fish that the locals at Uttan village eat. The fish normally is eaten with a flat bread called bhakari or rice crêpe called ghavan.Uttan is located 8 km away from Bhayandar and is full of people of the Koli and Muslim community. The Ulhas River is a river in Maharashtra, India. It is in the Thane, Raigad, and Pune districts of that state. It flows north and west from it source to where it splits into Vasai Creek and Thane Creek, near Thane. The Ulhas divides Salsette Island from the mainland, and is important for the water supply of Mumbai.

Mira-Bhayandar is a city and municipal corporation in Thane district in the state of Maharashtra, India located in the northern part of Salsette Island before the Vasai Creek, and shares a border with North Mumbai. Mira-Bhayandar is administered by Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), with a population at the 2011 Census of 814,655. Mira-Bhayandar is a part of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

Gorai ([ɡoɾaːi]) is a village at Dharavi Bhet, in Mumbai, India. It is located on the North-western part of the island of Salsette. Gorai is accessed more usually by a ferry crossing the Manori Creek and Gorai creek or otherwise by the overland route through Bhayander. Gorai is bordered by the villages of Manori and Uttan, Pali, Chowk, Dongri, Tarodi, Rai, Morva and Murdhe.Until the 1980s, Gorai was known for its clean beaches and palm trees. However, with the increase in pollution around Mumbai, the Arabian Sea is unfit for swimming although Gorai is less polluted than the other beaches in Mumbai. Gorai still enjoys its calm, laid back charm quite in contrast to the fast-paced life of the city just on the other side of the creek. Bullock carts are still in use here and the area suffers from a water shortage but with real-estate developers steadily bulldozing their way into this prized suburban tract, the physical and cultural fabric of the villagers of Gorai is now quite endangered.The Essel World, the first and the biggest amusement park of India, was built in Gorai in 1986. The park has several rides that cater to all age groups, and is known for its colossal infrastructure. The Global Vipassana Pagoda, featuring the tallest pillar-less dome in the world, a place for meditation, is built on 13 acres of land near Gorai. It is similar in shape to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar.

Mira Bhayandar is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Maharashtra state in western India.

St. Augustine's High School (SAHS) is a Christian boys school which has resulted turned into a coed school in Vasai, Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra, India. The school has two grounds. The main ground is located at the back is one of the biggest grounds in Vasai. The campus consists of three buildings. The main building which can be seen from the main road is the high school building. Classes from 5th standard to 10th standard are held over here. To the right of the building is the primary section. Just beside the main field is the residence of the Christian brothers. A statue of Edmund Ignatius Rice is located on the site.
