The Garfield School is a former schoolhouse near downtown Salem, Oregon. It stands on the corner of Marion and Cottage streets. After a mid-70s renovation, it now serves as offices for businesses and the state. It has three floors and an attic which have been converted to meeting spaces. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Mill Creek is a 26-mile (42 km) tributary of the Willamette River that drains a 111-square-mile (290 km2) area of Marion County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Flowing generally west from its source south of Silver Falls State Park, it passes through the cities of Aumsville, Stayton, Sublimity, and Turner before emptying into the Willamette in Salem.Salem's first gristmill and sawmill were built on the creek in 1840–41 by members of the Oregon Mission.

Salem Center is a multi-building, enclosed shopping center in downtown Salem, Oregon, United States. Located on both sides of Center Street between High and Liberty streets, the mall has 80 stores and a food court. Opened in 1979, the mall has three anchor stores with 650,000 square feet (60,000 m2) of gross leasable space located on and two floors. The anchors are: Kohl's, Ross Dress for Less, and Macy's with two vacant anchors last occupied by JCPenney and Nordstrom. The mall also features five sky bridges, one of which connects Macy's to the mall, another connects the mall to an adjacent city-owned parking garage, with another connecting the former JCPenney to the mall, in addition to connecting the two mall buildings across Center Street. Salem Center is managed by Jones Lang Lasalle.

The Jones–Sherman House is a historic Bungalow/Craftsman style house built in 1913 in Salem, Oregon, United States. It was built from a pattern book by Lindstrom & Almars by owner Ralph R. Jones.The house is also known as the Ralph R. Jones House or Charles L. Sherman House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 because of its architectural significance.

Oregon Business Development Department is an agency of the government of the U.S. state of Oregon, also known as Business Oregon, providing support of economic and community development and cultural enhancement through administration of a variety of programs of incentives, financial support, and technical assistance to businesses, nonprofit organizations and community groups, industries, and local and regional governments and districts. Waldo Park is a municipal park, located in downtown Salem, Oregon, United States. It is one of the smallest city parks in the world, measuring 12 by 20 feet (3.7 by 6.1 m). The park consists of a giant sequoia (one of the biggest tree species in the world) surrounded by landscaping and marked with a plaque and sign. The park is named for the 19th-century lawyer and Marion County judge William Waldo, who planted the tree on his property in 1872. Waldo later sold his property to the city, under condition that the tree be preserved. In 1936, the tree was made into a city park as a result of activism by the American War Mothers, with the support of prominent Salem citizens. The tree is located at the intersection of Union and Summer streets, with Summer Street, a major Salem thoroughfare, temporarily reduced in width to make room for the tree. The tree currently reaches a height of 82 feet (25 m). It is a designated Oregon Heritage Tree.

The Medal of Honor Monument, also known as the Oregon Medal of Honor Roll, is a granite obelisk commemorating Oregon's Medal of Honor recipients, installed outside the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs Building in Salem, Oregon, United States. Cut from a step leading to the Oregon State Capitol, the memorial is a replica of the state's monument in the Medal of Honor Grove Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

The Korean War Memorial is a monument commemorating those who fought in the Korean War, installed outside the Veterans Building in Salem, Oregon, United States, which houses the offices of the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs.

The Afghan–Iraqi Freedom Memorial is a war memorial installed on the Oregon Veterans' Building grounds, in Salem, Oregon, United States. The monument was dedicated in 2006.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Monument, also known as To All Who Have Served, is a monument installed outside the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs building in Salem, Oregon, United States. The memorial features a soldier atop a globe.

St. Joseph's is the oldest Catholic parish in Salem, Oregon. It currently serves some 3,500 families and conducts services in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Latin. The parish school staff has been recognized for excellence in education as recently as 2005.
