KYTY (810 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Somerset, Texas, and serving the San Antonio metropolitan area. It broadcasts a Christian contemporary music format, with some Christian talk and teaching shows. It is also an affiliate of the Houston Astros Radio Network. KYTY is powered at 250 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a three-tower array to minimize interference to other stations. 810 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency, reserved for Class A stations KGO San Francisco and WGY Schenectady.

Leon Creek is a tributary stream of the Medina River, in Bexar County, Texas.Leon Creek has its source seven miles northeast of Leon Springs in northwestern Bexar County. The creek runs southeast through Leon Valley and the west side of the city of San Antonio to its mouth on the Medina River, just west of Cassin and twelve miles south of downtown San Antonio.Leon Creek was a watering place for travelers on the San Antonio-El Paso Road including the stagecoach lines like the San Antonio-El Paso Mail and San Antonio-San Diego Mail Line.

Southside High School is a 5A public high school in the Southside Independent School District of San Antonio, Texas (United States). Southside High School serves the far south side of the city of San Antonio. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Southwest Legacy High School is a senior high school in San Antonio, Texas, with a Von Ormy postal address. It is a part of the Southwest Independent School District. Financed by a bond passed in 2012, it had a cost of $68 million and has a capacity of 3,200 students. It opened in 2017, on August 28. In the period 1962–2017 it was the first traditional comprehensive high school, operated by a school district, in southern San Antonio, as well as, from 1977 to 2017, the first public high school established south of U.S. Route 90.

Texas A&M University–San Antonio is a public university in San Antonio, Texas. It is part of the Texas A&M University System. The university was established on May 23, 2009, and held its first classes as a stand-alone university on August 20, 2009. It currently enrolls approximately 6,546 students and offers undergraduate and graduate-level classes, as well as a graduate alternative teacher certification program. Texas A&M–San Antonio has 161 full and part-time faculty. Texas A&M–San Antonio is the first Texas A&M University System institution to be established in a major urban center.

The Espada Acequia, or Piedras Creek Aqueduct, was built by Franciscan friars in 1731 in what is now San Antonio, Texas, United States. It was built to supply irrigation water to the lands near Mission San Francisco de la Espada, today part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. The acequia is still in use today and is an National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark and a National Historic Landmark.
