Longbridge plant is an industrial complex in Longbridge, Birmingham, England, currently leased by SAIC as a research and development facility for its MG Motor subsidiary. Vehicle assembly ended in 2016. Opened in 1905, by the late 1960s Longbridge employed around 25,000 workers, building cars including the original Mini. In the Second World War, the main plant produced munitions and tank parts, while the nearby East Works of Austin Aero Ltd at Cofton Hackett produced Short Stirling and Hawker Hurricane aircraft. Since the collapse of MG Rover in 2005, part of the site has been redeveloped for commercial and residential use.

Rednal is a residential suburb on the south western edge of metropolitan Birmingham, West Midlands, England, 9 miles (14 kilometres) southwest of Birmingham city centre and forming part of Longbridge parish and electoral ward. Rednal is home to approximately 2,000 residents. The suburb is located in a triangle formed by Rubery and the Bristol Road South to the north and north west, the former MG Rover car factory to the south east and the Lickey Hills and Cofton Hackett Park just south. The popular rural Lickey Hills Country Park is 1⁄2 mile (800 metres) south of Rednal, with Rednal Hill being the nearest peak.

Colmers School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in the Rednal area of Birmingham, in the West Midlands of England.Previously a community school solely administered by Birmingham City Council, Colmers School became a foundation school in 2009. The school also has a sixth form consisting of Year 12 and 13 students, based in its Sixth Form Centre with students studying a range of A-level subjects. The school has a house system, currently comprising three houses: Wolf, Eagle and Dolphin. Students join one of the three houses upon entry to the school and compete in range of areas to win the annually-awarded House Cup. Colmers Community Leisure Centre also operates from the school site, offering sports and leisure facilities to the local community outside school hours.
