Caversham Park is a Victorian-era stately home with parkland in the suburb of Caversham on the outskirts of Reading, England. Historically located in Oxfordshire, it became part of Berkshire with boundary changes in 1911. Caversham Park was home to BBC Monitoring and BBC Radio Berkshire. The park is listed as Grade II in the English Heritage Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

BBC Radio Berkshire is the BBC's local radio station serving the county of Berkshire. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds studios at Thames Valley Park near Reading. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 118,000 listeners and a 4.4% share as of December 2022.

Caversham Park Village is a suburb of Reading, England. It is entirely residential and associated with Emmer Green, which has the closest amenities — much of it is marked as Emmer Green. Both are upland areas of the former enlarged form of Caversham, now suburbs of Reading. Whilst the area has no formal boundaries, it generally refers to the residential area constructed on part of the former grounds of Caversham Park, to the eastern side of Caversham and adjoining the border with Oxfordshire.The village was largely developed between the mid 1960s and early 1970s, with the construction of 1500 new houses and the supporting road infrastructure. Unlike most of the rest of Caversham, which became part of Reading in 1911, Caversham Park Village remained in Oxfordshire until 1977, when the boundaries were redrawn to include it in Reading and it was transferred to Berkshire.Caversham Park Village is shared with Emmer Green in forming the 'Peppard' electoral ward of the borough of Reading named after Rotherfield Peppard, also known as Peppard which is the village adjoining the north of the rest of Emmer Green.

Emmer Green is the northernmost suburb of Reading in the English county of Berkshire within the unitary authority, centred 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the town. Having most of its own commerce, sport and other amenities, Emmer Green has an arbitrary divide with larger Caversham and a border with Oxfordshire, the county in which both places formerly stood.

Lower Caversham is an area of the former town of Caversham, in the English county of Berkshire (formerly Oxfordshire). Today this is itself a suburb of the larger town of Reading. Lower Caversham has no formal boundaries, but the name usually refers to that part of Caversham situated on lower ground to the east of central Caversham, close to the River Thames.The area lies entirely within the Caversham ward of the borough of Reading. As a unitary authority, the borough is responsible for all aspects of local government within the area. Lower Caversham is within the Reading East parliamentary constituency.Caversham Lock is situated on the south bank of the Thames, and is connected to Lower Caversham by a weir—popularly known as The Clappers— which carries a public footpath across the river. This path also provides access to View Island, now a public park. Upstream of the lock, Reading Bridge provides a direct road link between Reading town centre and Lower Caversham.

The Emmer Green (Hanover) Chalk Mine is an extensive abandoned subterranean chalk mine at Emmer Green, north of Reading in Berkshire, located just north of the junction of Peppard Road and Kiln Road (OS Grid Ref: SU722769). The mine is so named because the land is now owned by the Hanover Housing Association who have a development adjacent at Wordsworth Court. The mine is one of a number of known mines in the Emmer Green and Reading area where chalk mining was often done in conjunction with brick making as chalk and clay are found together in the area and chalk was use in the making of bricks. It is likely other abandoned mines remain undiscovered. The area was once known as Rose Hill and contained brickfield and chalk mining works. The mine was discovered in 1977 during building works. Access is through a 50 ft fixed steel ladder in a narrow vertical shaft below a locked iron cover.

Clayfield Copse is a local nature reserve on the northern edge of the suburb of Caversham in Reading, UK. The site is 8.65 hectares (21.4 acres) in size and is a natural open space consisting of fields, wild flower meadow and native woodlands adjoining the Oxfordshire countryside. Some of the woodland is being actively managed as hazel coppice, and traditional dead hedging defines some of the ancient woodland areas. The site is the only outcrop of London Clay north of the River Thames in Reading and makes up the southern tip of the Chiltern Hills. The nature reserve is under the management of the Reading Borough Council.The site also features a sculpture trail.

The Thames and Kennet Marina is located at Caversham Lakes in south Oxfordshire, England, just north off the River Thames on the reach above Sonning Lock. It is just to the east of Caversham, a suburb in the north of Reading, Berkshire. The marina is named after the River Thames and the River Kennet which joins the Thames nearby. The marina is in a nature reserve and is used for narrow boats and other pleasure craft for use on the river. It is owned by Tingdene Marinas Limited.More recently, the Redgrave Pinsent Rowing Lake has been created close to the marina.

Queen Anne's School is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18, situated in the suburb of Caversham just north of the River Thames and Reading town centre and occupying a 35-acre (14 ha) campus. There are around 450 pupils. Nearly half are boarders. Some stay seven nights a week; others stay during the working week (weekly boarders) or two, three or four nights a week (flexi boarders). Saturday morning lessons were replaced in 2009 by a programme of optional sport, hobbies and extended learning activities, including rowing, horse riding, textiles and first aid. The school awards scholarships in academic subjects, sport, music, art and drama at ages 11 and 13 and at sixth form entry. Queen Anne's is a member of the Girls' Schools Association and the Boarding Schools' Association. Queen Anne's was chosen as one of Tatler magazine's Top 225 prep and public schools 2010.

Heron Island is a small island near Caversham Lock, on the north bank of the River Thames at Reading, Berkshire in England. The island has private riverside housing and is connected by road to Lower Caversham. It also connects by footpath to View Island just upstream, relaxing island set out as a small park with grassy paths and seating, a pond, and several wooden chain-saw carved sculptures. This in turn connects via a weir to De Bohun Island, where Caversham Lock is located, and on to the south bank of the River Thames.

View Island is a small island near Caversham Lock, on the River Thames at Reading, Berkshire in England.View Island forms part of a series of riverside open spaces, managed by Reading Borough Council, that stretch along one or other side of the River Thames throughout its passage through Reading. From west to east these are Thameside Promenade, Caversham Court, Christchurch Meadows, Hills Meadow, View Island and King's Meadow.The island was a derelict boatyard when Reading Borough Council took it over in 1998 and restored it. It is a quiet, relaxing island with grassy paths and seating. It is set out as a small park containing several wooden chain-saw carved sculptures, although all but one having rotted away. It connects to Caversham via Heron Island, which has private riverside housing and is connected by road to Lower Caversham.A body was found on View Island in February 2011.In 2021, the new Reading Hydro community owned hydro-electric power plant opened at the upstream end of the island. At the same time a new and more natural fish pass stream was constructed, snaking through View Island.

Reading East is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Matt Rodda, of the Labour Party. The seat is one of two won (held or gained) by a Labour candidate in 2017 from a total of eight covering Berkshire. Rodda's 2017 win was one of 30 net gains of the Labour Party. The seat has been, relative to others, a semi-marginal seat, and major-swing (volatile) seat since 2010. Its winner's majority has not exceeded 12.9% of the vote since the 15.2% majority won in that year. The seat has changed hands once since 2010.
