Wallaroo, New South Wales

Ginninderra Parish is one of the 54 parishes of Murray County, New South Wales, a cadastral unit for use on land titles. It is now about half the size it was in the nineteenth century, after land in the parish was transferred to the Australian Capital Territory in 1911. It once included what are now the north-western suburbs of Belconnen, as well as Hall and part of Western Gungahlin, including Harcourt Hill in the modern suburb of Nicholls.

This area is just to the west of Dunlop. The Wallaroo road is the main road in the area, which comes off the Barton Highway. The parish is similar to the locality of Wallaroo.

Dunlop is at the far north-west edge of Canberra, near the border with the state of New South Wales. Approximately 11.6 kilometres (7.2 mi) north-west of the city, Dunlop is next to the suburbs of Fraser, Charnwood and Macgregor. At the edge and within Dunlop lies the Canberra Nature Park called Dunlop Grasslands Nature Reserve, West Belconnen Ponds, Jarramlee Pond and Fassifern Pond which are part of the Ginninderra Catchment.Dunlop is named after Lieutenant Colonel Sir Ernest Edward "Weary" Dunlop, an Australian surgeon who was renowned for his leadership while being held prisoner of war by the Japanese during the Second World War. Hall Primary School was a rural primary school on the northern outskirts of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. It was Canberra's oldest continually operating school, having opened in 1911, until its closure was announced on 13 December 2006, by the Education Minister, Andrew Barr as foreshadowed in the 2006–07 Australian Capital Territory budget. Integrated into the school is the Laurie Copping Museum that recreates a school room from 1911. It was opened by the Governor-General in 2005. The school was originally established in New South Wales and was the responsibility of the New South Wales government until 1913 when the ACT was created. The Commonwealth Government still pays the cost of interstate based Hall students by way of Commonwealth Grants Commission adjustments.

Macgregor () is a residential suburb in the Belconnen district of Canberra, located within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. It was gazetted on 9 September 1971. It lies next to the suburbs of Dunlop, Latham and Holt on the western side of Belconnen, with Florey Drive the boundary to the east, Ginninderra Drive on the north, and Southern Cross Drive on the south. The suburb of Macgregor is named after Sir William MacGregor, Governor of Queensland 1909–14 and first chancellor of the University of Queensland, 1911. Streets are named after members of the Australian medical professions.
