Rice's Crossing, Texas

Norman's Crossing is an unincorporated farming community in Williamson County, Texas, United States, founded by Daniel Kimbro. The community is located on Brushy Creek between Hutto and Rice's Crossing, near the intersection of FM 1660 and FM 3349, approximately 25 miles northeast of Austin.

The East Blackland Solar Project, also known as the Pflugerville Solar Farm, is a 144 megawatt (MW) alternating current (AC) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant near Pflugerville, Texas. Originally a 60 MWAC plant, a ceremonial ground breaking was announced in December 2010 with completion expected in June 2013, but construction start was delayed until July 2020, because no buyer for the electricity was available for contract.RRE Mehta Power was the original developer on the project. The current developer is Recurrent Energy, LLC, a division of Canadian Solar. CIT Group arranged for financing of $162 million of the $234 million project, which finally broke ground in July 2020. Austin Energy will buy electricity generated by the project under the terms of a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).The system was sold to Duke Energy in 2020, before construction was completed. The project will begin operating in January 2024.

The Coupland Independent School District serves area students. Coupland ISD serves kindergarten through grade 8. Upon graduation, the students go to Elgin, Pflugerville, or Taylor, Texas for high school courses. Coupland's athletic teams are the "Cowboys".

The T. Don Hutto Residential Center (formerly known as T. Don Hutto Family Residential Facility, and the T. Don Hutto Family Detention Facility) is a guarded, fenced-in, multi-purpose center currently used to detain non-US citizens awaiting the outcome of their immigration status. The center is located at 1001 Welch Street in the city of Taylor, Texas, within Williamson County. Formerly a medium-security state prison, it is operated by the CoreCivic under contract with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (known as ICE) through an ICE Intergovernmental Service Agreement (IGA) with Williamson County, Texas. In 2006, Hutto became an immigrant-detention facility detaining immigrant families. The facility was turned into a women's detention center in 2009.

Louie Mueller Barbecue is a barbecue restaurant in Taylor, Texas. Called "the epitome of Texas barbecue" by The New York Times, the restaurant focuses on beef brisket, beef ribs, hand made beef sausages, pork ribs, and other smoked meats. The restaurant is known for serving massive beef ribs that has been referred to as “dino.” Louie Mueller has been in operation since 1946 and became its own entity in 1949. Its current location, inhabited since 1959, was formerly a gymnasium in downtown Taylor. The establishment is named for its original owner, and uses native post oak wood as fuel in its pits. In 2013, a fire destroyed the original brick pit at the restaurant's location, though other pits were unscathed. The family owned business is currently run by Wayne Mueller.Louie Mueller is one of the most famous barbecue eateries in the world. It was named one of the 50 Best Barbecue Joints in the World by Texas Monthly. In 2006, it was awarded a James Beard Foundation Award in the "America's Classics" category, the first Texas barbecue restaurant to be recognized by the James Beard Foundation.

Taylor station is a train station in Taylor, Texas, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The unstaffed station consists of a small pavilion with picnic tables and shares a plot of land with a Union Pacific yard office.
