California Exposition

The California State Fair is the annual state fair for the state of California. The fair is held at Cal Expo in Sacramento, California. The Fair is a 17-day event showcasing California's industries, agriculture, and diversity of people. The CSF features blue-ribbon animal displays, culinary delights and competitions, live music concerts, a carnival, fireworks, and other family fun. In 2018, officials reported daily attendance drew between 20,000 and 60,000 people per day and about $8.5 million of food and beverage expenditures. The fair is policed by the California Exposition and State Fair Police. The Covid-19 pandemic caused losses of around $16 million in revenue and impacted over 800 seasonal workers. Cal Expo is now a temporary Covid-19 testing site, homeless trailer site, and a go-to partner during the state's battle with wildfires.

Heart Health Park is a sports venue located on the grounds of Cal Expo in Sacramento, California. The soccer-specific stadium has a capacity of 11,569 and includes a full-sized (120 x 80 yard) soccer field. Heart Health Park is the current home of Sacramento Republic FC soccer team and former home of PRO Rugby team, Sacramento Express. The field is located on the former site of the Cal Expo Amphitheatre, and is bordered on the west and south by the Cal Expo monorail, and on the east by Raging Waters water park.

Bushy Lake is a small lake located in Sacramento, California along the American River Parkway. The area is part of an ongoing restoration project, it also provides habitat to wildlife and offers nearby recreation opportunities. The area is prone to drought, erosion, species invasion, fire, and groups of transient populations. In the American River Parkway Plan, the lake is designated as a Nature Study Area and further protected by the Bushy Lake Preservation Act.

Arden Fair is a two-level regional shopping mall located on Arden Way in Sacramento, California, United States. It consists of over 165 tenants, encompassing over 1,100,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of retail space. It currently maintains the traditional chain anchors Macy's and JCPenney. It is operated by Macerich.

Swanston is a side-platformed Sacramento RT light rail station between Arden Way and El Camino Avenue, just west of the Capital City Freeway, in Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on March 12, 1987, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District as part of the Blue Line. The station is named for the Swanston Heights neighborhood of the city, which is served by the stop.

McClellan Air Force Base Annex #1 ("McClellan Anx #1") was a military installation near McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento County, California, that was active from 28 November 1951 to 2 July 1956. Strategic Air Command operated an automatic tracking radar station (call sign "Sacramento Bomb Plot") just outside the base at Whitney and Eastern Avenues.

KDEE-LP (97.5 FM) is a community radio station based in Sacramento, California.

Swanston Estates is a neighborhood situated in North Sacramento, California. It is bordered by Arden Way on the south, Ethan Way on the East, Business 80 on the west, and El Camino Avenue on the north. This area lies behind the Arden Fair Mall. The zip code for the neighborhood is 95815. Founding residents Nicholas and Henrietta Gosselink established Hope Community Church (now Emmanuel) on Ethan Way. The uncle of another contributed the land for D.W. Babcock Elementary School and Park. Swanston Estates is named for the Swanston family, which owned a 2,800-acre (11 km2) cattle ranch and a meatpacking plant located at the Southern Pacific tracks from 1914 until the 1940s. The family sold much of the land to the state of California in the late 1940s, which intended to build Cal Expo there. The state didn't use all of the land for that purpose and sold the unused land in 1970 for $7.3 million, at which point it saw commercial and residential development.

Royal Oaks station is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located alongside Arden Way at its intersection with Royal Oaks Drive, after which the station is named, in the city of Sacramento, California.

KRVA (1600 kHz), branded as "Radio Saigon Dallas 1600", is a commercial AM radio station, licensed to Cockrell Hill, Texas, and serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is owned by Lrad Media, LLC, and broadcasts a full service Vietnamese radio format, featuring pop music and talk By day it is powered at 25,000 watts. But at night, to avoid interfering with other stations on 1600 AM, it reduces power to 930 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is on Woodvista Court in the Piedmont neighborhood of Southeast Dallas.

The Los Rios Community College District is a special-purpose district providing administrative services and governance for the community colleges serving the greater Sacramento area and points east all the way to Lake Tahoe. The Los Rios Community College district is run by CEO/chancellor (Daniel) Brian King of Folsom, California. King's previous occupation was the president of the Cabrillo Community College in Aptos, California. His education includes Duke University, University of Missouri (Mizzou), as well as Alabama State University.
