Streatham ( STRET-əm) is a district in south London, England. Bishop Thomas Grant School (BTG) is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form, situated in the Streatham area of the London Borough of Lambeth, England. The school is named after the first Bishop of Southwark, Thomas Grant (1816-1870) who was named in the First Vatican Council. The school was opened on 9 September 1959. BTG is a specialist school in Mathematics and ICT. In September 2009 Bishop Thomas Grant re-opened their sixth form which had closed in 1986. In their 2014 Ofsted inspection, BTG received a mark of outstanding in every category.

Streatham Hill ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, United Kingdom. It includes the neighbourhoods in the northern part of Streatham either side of the road of the same name.

Streatham Hill railway station is one of three stations serving the district of Streatham, in the London Borough of Lambeth. It is 5 miles 57 chains (9.2 km) measured from London Victoria. The wooden station building at street level faces the busy Streatham High Road (A23) at the junction with Leigham Court Road. Services are operated by Southern. Access to the platforms – which are in a cutting below street level and which continue under a bridge beneath the road – is possible via a pair of staircases or lifts. A project to replace the staircases and introduce lift access was completed in 2009. The station is served by Class 377s and Class 455s.

Streatham High Road, some 1.8 miles (2.9 km) in length, is part of the main A23 road from London to Brighton, and is in the London Borough of Lambeth. It begins in the north at Streatham Hill railway station, being an end-on junction with Streatham Hill and continues south to Norbury where the A23 becomes London Road. Because Streatham existed in Saxon times, it is likely the road existed as early as 1068, when it is mentioned in literature.

Streatham Library is located at 63 Streatham High Road, Streatham, in the London Borough of Lambeth, England. The Library opened in 1890, and is one of several historical libraries in the vicinity which were built by Henry Tate. It is a public library.

Streatham Hill Theatre is a historic theatre in Lambeth, England. It was built in 1928–29 and was the last theatre designed by W. G. R. Sprague.Opening in 1929, it staged theatre, opera, ballet and variety until 1962, apart from a period between 1944 and 1950 when it was closed due to bomb damage. In 1962 it closed to theatre, reopening as a Mecca bingo hall. Bingo continued under several operators until 2017. It was Grade II listed in 1994 as "an unusually lavish example of a theatre built in the short-lived revival of building in 1929–30; as a suburban example of this date the building may be unique."The building was added to the Theatre's Trust Theatres at Risk register in 2018.Also in 2018, London Borough of Lambeth granted Asset of Community Value status to the theatre.Since 2018, the building remains out of use, apart from a small slot machine lounge, and there is a campaign to save the theatre for the community, led by the Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre.In 2021, Historic England added the theatre to its Heritage at Risk register.

On 2 February 2020 two people were stabbed in Streatham, London in what police termed a terrorist incident. The attacker, Sudesh Amman, was shot dead by the police. A nearby woman was slightly injured by broken glass as a result. At the time Amman was under active counter-terrorism surveillance, after having recently being released from prison on licence; he had been convicted in 2018 for disseminating terrorist material. Following the attack, the British government introduced the Terrorist Offenders Bill, a piece of emergency legislation intended to prevent those convicted of terrorist offences from being released early from prison.

Pratts was a department store located in Streatham High Road, London. Established in the 1850s it became part of the John Lewis chain before its closure in 1990.
