The Embassy of India in Kathmandu is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of India to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

Lazimpat (Nepali: लाजिम्पाट) is a residential area of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It is close to the Narayanhity Palace, and is well known in Kathmandu for its hotels, restaurants, schools, colleges, embassies and department stores. The neighborhood's name derives from Lazimpat Durbar, that lies in its vicinity and was converted into Hotel Shanker.Lazimpat shares one border with Thamel, a popular tourist hub, and another with Baluwatar, a reputed residential area where the Prime Minister, Chief Justice, and the Chairman of Constitution Assembly reside. Lazimpat is just 20 minutes away from what is downtown of Kathmandu, Newroad and Ason. There has been a recent upsurge in the construction activity in the region. Lazimpat boasts the only road connecting the northern part of the Kathmandu valley with the southern part. The roads are very busy, yet until a few years back, there was not much economic activity in the region. Luxury hotels, photo studios, department stores and corner shops have been a special feature of Lazimpat. It is centrally located and is also home to or nearby various embassies.. Sarashwoti Mandir, Dayashwor Mahadev mandir are situated in the lazimpat. There are many hotels, such as Hotel Shanker and Radisson Hotel Nepal, restaurants and sweet shops situated in Lazimpat among various shopping outlets. Embassies & Diplomatic Missions in Lazimpat include the Indian Embassy, the British Embassy, the Israeli Embassy, the French Embassy and the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal and also some Nepalese governmental offices, such as the Inland Revenue Department have their premises in the neighborhood. The National Deaf Federation Nepal (NDFN; Nepali: राष्ट्रिय बहिरा महासंघ नेपाल(ne)) is a non-governmental organization established and run as the umbrella organization for Nepal's various district and local deaf associations. Previously it was known as the National Federation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NFDH). It is a member of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and works as an advocate for deaf rights, as well as running a number of programs throughout the country to improve the lives of Nepal's deaf population. Two of the core areas in which it works are sign language and deaf education. NDFN has worked on publishing a "Dictionary of Nepali Sign Language", and continues to collect and create signs for supplements to this dictionary. It also has trained and sent deaf sign language instructors to teach Nepali Sign Language to deaf who otherwise have no exposure to sign language. In the area of deaf education, it works closely with the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education, the Curriculum Development Center, and the various deaf schools in order to improve the quality of deaf education in Nepal.

Nepal Police Hospital is a government hospital located in Maharajgunj of Kathmandu in Bagmati Province of Nepal. It was opened with an intention to provide free health services to in- service policemen, and ex-servicemen including their families. From 2075 BS (2018-2019), the hospital has been providing OPD services for public civilian.

Xavier Academy (Nepali: जेभियर एकेडेमी) is a secondary education school managed by the Nepal Education Foundation, located in Lazimpat, Kathmandu.

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB; Nepali: नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंक) is the central bank of Nepal. It was established on April 26, 1956 A.D. (Baisakh 14, 2013 B.S.) under the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 1955, and continues to perform central banking functions, including guiding the development of Nepal's financial sector. The NRB now operates under the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2002. Its functions include formulating monetary and foreign exchange policies to maintain market stability, issuing currency notes, regulating and supervising banks and financial institutions, and developing efficient payment and banking systems. The NRB also serves as an economic advisor to the government of Nepal and acts as the monetary, supervisory, and regulatory authority over all commercial banks, development banks, finance companies, and microfinance institutions. The central office is located in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, and it has eight provincial offices located at Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Pokhara, Siddharthanagar, Nepalgunj, Surkhet, and Dhangadhi. NRB formulates and implements monetary policy, oversees foreign exchange rates and the country's foreign exchange reserves, and is one of the principal owners of the Nepal Stock Exchange. It is also a member of the Asian Clearing Union.

The National School of Sciences (NSS) formerly known as the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), was established in 1993. It is located in Lainchour, Kathmandu, Nepal. The patron of the institute is Madhav Prasad Baral, who is also the academic in charge and similarly vice principal is Pranita Sharma Baral.The school offers science and management courses, primarily focusing on science. The institute is a part of a larger NIST Foundation which has multiple other branches which offer education from the secondary level up to the graduate levels. The National school of science (NSS) is a premier education institute managed by the NIST foundation that was established three decades ago. The core objective of the foundation, as an apex body, have been to establish education institutions, and provide students academic programmes from pre-school to high-school to university.” Institute is open Sunday to Friday 5AM-5PM. Classrooms are spaciously designed to accommodate thirty-six students. Student furniture is chosen so as to provide the necessary comfort and support for proper seating posture taking into account the long hours students put in inside the classroom. Each classroom is equipped with a fixed projector and access to high internet connectivity to ensure the use of tech in learning. Student and teacher get 1 hour of lunch break per day and 15 mins rest break after every 2 classes. The school has provision of canteen for students and they can bring their lunch if they want. Canteen serves freshly prepared and well-balanced diet of veg and non-veg dishes. Applicants must pass the Entrance examination in a related course to enroll at NIST. Institute has a prescribed set of school uniform which all students must adhere to. Uniform includes shirt, pant, tie, coat and black shoe. Students are also provided with house t-shirt for the ECAs and a sweater for winter. The school provides transportation facilities to students who require bus service to commute to and from the school. Application for the bus service have to be made at the time of admissions and is only available within the periphery of 10 km.

Amrit Campus is the first science campus of Nepal, located in Lainchaur, Kathmandu. It was formerly known as Public Science College (PUSCOL.) It was later renamed in the memory of Amrit Prasad Pradhan. Pradhan was born in 1918 at Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. He worked as the headmaster of Juddhodaya Public High School in Birgunj for two years and later joined Tri-Chandra College as a lecturer in chemistry. In 1962, he became the founding principal of Public Science College and began teaching as a professor of chemistry.Pradhan helped to establish Amrit Campus with a goal of promoting the study of science and technology in Nepal. The campus benefited greatly from his enterprise, dedication and enthusiasm. While on a mission to the United States for academic reasons, he died in an air crash over Mont Blanc on January 24, 1966.

Baluwatar (Nepali: बालुवाटार) (also Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 04) is a residential area of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal on the banks of Bagmati River. It is just 15 minutes away from what is known as the downtown of Kathmandu, New Road and Ason and shares borders with Lazimpat and Gairidhara. Baluwatar hosts the Prime Minister of Nepal's official residence, government offices, Nepal Rastra Bank's headquarters, the Nepalese country headquarter of the International Organization for Migration the Russian Embassy and the office of Volunteer Service and Support Nepal (VSSN) are located here.A Nepal Army's Para Special Forces Battalion (Bhairab Dal) and Air Wing, TU Teaching Hospital, Nepal Police Headquarters and the home of the former King Gyanendra and the current Presidential Palace are in the vicinity. There are some schools such as Meridian International School, Shiva Puri secondary school and many others. It is the most infrastructural developed city in Nepal due to place of prime minister's residence.In 2012, Occupy Baluwatar of the occupy movement was apeaceful protest movement calling on the Nepali state to better address the widespread problem of impunity and gender-based violence.

The Tribhuvan Sadan (Nepali: त्रिभुवन सदन) is a mansion in the Narayanhiti Palace, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is known for being the site of the Nepalese royal massacre where ten members of the royal family, including King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya, and Crown Prince Dipendra were killed. The mansion was formerly occupied by King Tribhuvan and his family and later by Dipendra, Crown Prince of Nepal. The Tribhuvan Sadan was demolished after the orders of the Queen Mother Ratna however It is currently being reconstructed.

Gairidhara (Nepali: गैह्री धारा) is a residential area of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It borders the Narayanhity Palace, Lazimpat and Baluwatar and is just 20 minutes away from what is known as the downtown of Kathmandu, Newroad and Ason. The Narayanhiti Palace Museum (Nepali: नारायणहिटी दरवार) is a public museum in Kathmandu, Nepal located east of the Kaiser Mahal and next to Thamel. The museum was created in 2008 from the complex of the former Narayanhiti Palace (or Narayanhiti Durbar) following the 2006 revolution. Before the revolution, the palace was the residence and principal workplace of the monarch of the Kingdom of Nepal, and hosted occasions of state.The existing palace complex was built by King Mahendra in 1963, and incorporates an impressive array of courtyards, gardens and buildings.
