The National Deaf Federation Nepal (NDFN; Nepali: राष्ट्रिय बहिरा महासंघ नेपाल(ne)) is a non-governmental organization established and run as the umbrella organization for Nepal's various district and local deaf associations. Previously it was known as the National Federation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NFDH). It is a member of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and works as an advocate for deaf rights, as well as running a number of programs throughout the country to improve the lives of Nepal's deaf population. Two of the core areas in which it works are sign language and deaf education. NDFN has worked on publishing a "Dictionary of Nepali Sign Language", and continues to collect and create signs for supplements to this dictionary. It also has trained and sent deaf sign language instructors to teach Nepali Sign Language to deaf who otherwise have no exposure to sign language. In the area of deaf education, it works closely with the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education, the Curriculum Development Center, and the various deaf schools in order to improve the quality of deaf education in Nepal.

Xavier Academy (Nepali: जेभियर एकेडेमी) is a secondary education school managed by the Nepal Education Foundation, located in Lazimpat, Kathmandu.

The Embassy of India in Kathmandu is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of India to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

Hom Bahadur Bagale was a police sub-inspector in Nepal Police serving from 13 February 1984. He had been serving as a technical sub-inspector in the police band. He was accused of stealing gold from his superior. Bagale was detained without being presented to court within 24 hours. He was kept in custody handcuffed and was forced to wear a hood and placed in solitary confinements. He was captured and tortured on 28 Nov 2002, he managed to escape and then he was again taken to Armed Police Battalion on 5 February 2003 and detained until 3 April 2003. He was further detained on 20 March 2006 at the Armed Police Battalion No. 1 until 22 March 2006 and then he was detained and brought to the police facility at Hanumandhoka where he was held till March 28, 2006. He was tortured and ill-treated. His tortures and captivity were ruled illegal by the court. Concerns of his safety was raised by international organizations and the wider public.

Kathmandu, officially Kathmandu Metropolitan City, is the capital and most populous city of Nepal with 845,767 inhabitants living in 105,649 households in 2021 and 2.9 million people in its urban agglomeration. It is located in the Kathmandu Valley, a large valley in the high plateaus in central Nepal, at an altitude of 1,400 metres (4,600 feet). The city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world, founded in the 2nd century AD. The valley was historically called the "Nepal Mandala" and has been the home of the Newar people, a cosmopolitan urban civilization in the Himalayan foothills. The city was the royal capital of the Kingdom of Nepal and hosts palaces, mansions and gardens built by the Nepali aristocracy. It has been home to the headquarters of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) since 1985. Today, it is the seat of government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, established in 2008, and is part of Bagmati Province. Kathmandu is and has been for many years the centre of Nepal's history, art, culture, and economy. It has a multi-ethnic population within a Hindu and Buddhist majority. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. Tourism is an important part of the economy in the city. In 2013, Kathmandu was ranked third among the top ten upcoming travel destinations in the world by TripAdvisor, and ranked first in Asia. The city is considered the gateway to the Nepal Himalayas and is home to several World Heritage Sites: the Durbar Square, Swayambhu Mahachaitya, Bouddha and Pashupatinath. Kathmandu valley is growing at 4 percent per year according to the World Bank in 2010, making it one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in South Asia, and the first region in Nepal to face the unprecedented challenges of rapid urbanization and modernization at a metropolitan scale. It is the largest metropolitan area located in the Himalayas.

The Narayanhiti Palace Museum (Nepali: नारायणहिटी दरवार) is a public museum in Kathmandu, Nepal located east of the Kaiser Mahal and next to Thamel. The museum was created in 2008 from the complex of the former Narayanhiti Palace (or Narayanhiti Durbar) following the 2006 revolution. Before the revolution, the palace was the residence and principal workplace of the monarch of the Kingdom of Nepal, and hosted occasions of state.The existing palace complex was built by King Mahendra in 1963, and incorporates an impressive array of courtyards, gardens and buildings.

The Nepali royal massacre occurred on 1 June 2001 at the Narayanhiti Palace, the then-residence of the Nepalese monarchy. Nine members of the royal family, including King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya, were killed in a mass shooting during a gathering of the royal family at the palace. A government-appointed inquiry team named Crown Prince Dipendra as perpetrator of the massacre. Dipendra slipped into a coma after shooting himself in the head.Dipendra was declared King of Nepal while comatose after the death of King Birendra. He died in hospital three days after the massacre without regaining consciousness. Birendra's brother Gyanendra then became king.

Shree Sadan (Nepali: श्री सदन) is a three-storey cottage used by King Birendra and his family.Shree Sadan was opened to the public in November 2020. It spans over 754 ropanis of land.

Samakhushi in Nepali सामा (कान्छी) | खुशी (खोला) is a Small River Connected with Bishnumati River Connection from Budhanilkantha, Basundhara (Maharajgunj), Ranibari etc. of an urban city (Kathmandu Metropolitan City) of Nepal located within Kathmandu. It is roughly 10 minutes from Golkopakha, Thamel. Samakhushi has various guesthouses and offers a vibrant ethnic cultural taste. Samakhushi is one of the cities within Kathmandu which is viewed as a peaceful area. Samakhushi neighbouring cities are Ranibari in East, Gangabu in North, Balaju in west and Golkopakha(towards Thamel) in south. Samakhusi is approximately 15 minutes drive from Bus Park from where there are services to major towns and cities in Nepal. It is the developing city of ktm. Gairidhara (Nepali: गैह्री धारा) is a residential area of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It borders the Narayanhity Palace, Lazimpat and Baluwatar and is just 20 minutes away from what is known as the downtown of Kathmandu, Newroad and Ason. The Tribhuvan Sadan (Nepali: त्रिभुवन सदन) is a mansion in the Narayanhiti Palace, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is known for being the site of the Nepalese royal massacre where ten members of the royal family, including King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya, and Crown Prince Dipendra were killed. The mansion was formerly occupied by King Tribhuvan and his family and later by Dipendra, Crown Prince of Nepal. The Tribhuvan Sadan was demolished after the orders of the Queen Mother Ratna however It is currently being reconstructed.

The National School of Sciences (NSS) formerly known as the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), was established in 1993. It is located in Lainchour, Kathmandu, Nepal. The patron of the institute is Madhav Prasad Baral, who is also the academic in charge and similarly vice principal is Pranita Sharma Baral.The school offers science and management courses, primarily focusing on science. The institute is a part of a larger NIST Foundation which has multiple other branches which offer education from the secondary level up to the graduate levels. The National school of science (NSS) is a premier education institute managed by the NIST foundation that was established three decades ago. The core objective of the foundation, as an apex body, have been to establish education institutions, and provide students academic programmes from pre-school to high-school to university.” Institute is open Sunday to Friday 5AM-5PM. Classrooms are spaciously designed to accommodate thirty-six students. Student furniture is chosen so as to provide the necessary comfort and support for proper seating posture taking into account the long hours students put in inside the classroom. Each classroom is equipped with a fixed projector and access to high internet connectivity to ensure the use of tech in learning. Student and teacher get 1 hour of lunch break per day and 15 mins rest break after every 2 classes. The school has provision of canteen for students and they can bring their lunch if they want. Canteen serves freshly prepared and well-balanced diet of veg and non-veg dishes. Applicants must pass the Entrance examination in a related course to enroll at NIST. Institute has a prescribed set of school uniform which all students must adhere to. Uniform includes shirt, pant, tie, coat and black shoe. Students are also provided with house t-shirt for the ECAs and a sweater for winter. The school provides transportation facilities to students who require bus service to commute to and from the school. Application for the bus service have to be made at the time of admissions and is only available within the periphery of 10 km.
