Gwyddelwern railway station

Gwyddelwern is a small village and community of 508 residents, reducing to 500 at the 2011 census, situated approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Corwen in Denbighshire in Wales. Historically the village was part of the Edeyrnion district of Meirionnydd. Edeyrnion was part of the Glyndŵr district of Clwyd from 1974 to 1996, when the area became part of the principal area of Denbighshire. The village straddles the A494 road (trunk road).

Derwen railway station was a station in Derwen, Denbighshire, Wales. The station was opened on 6 October 1864 and closed for passengers in 1953 and completely on 30 April 1962. The station building is now a private residence. The platform also still exists.

Derwen (historically, Derwen-dêg-fawr) is a rural village in the south of Denbighshire, Wales. It lies approximately halfway between Corwen and Ruthin, in the upper part of Dyffryn Clwyd on the north side of the River Clwyd, opposite the village of Bryn Saith Marchog. The population of the community as taken at the 2011 census was 426.The community includes the village of Clawddnewydd. An old Celtic Cross stands in the village, near the church, dating from the early middle ages. There is also the Grade II Ffynnon Sara.

St Mary's Church, Derwen, is a redundant church in the centre of the village of Derwen, Denbighshire, Wales. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches.

Melin-y-Wig is a village in Denbighshire, Wales. It is situated on the River Clwyd (Welsh: Afon Clwyd). Rising in the nearby Clocaenog Forest (grid reference SJ045535), the river flows due south up to Melin-y-Wig, when it suddenly changes direction north-eastwards: After flowing in a generally southerly direction from Waen Ganol to Melin-y-Wig, the river turns abruptly eastwards to flow through a deep, narrow gorge north of Moel Clegyr, swings north and northeast round Dinas and then continues on a course somewhat north of east below Derwen ... The village once had its own school, but in the mid 1960s, it was decided to close it in favour of the primary school in Betws Gwerful Goch. The last headteacher was Mr Oswyn Williams. Melin-y-Wig is noted for a Welsh nursery rhyme about it: This translates as:

Clawddnewydd is a village in the community of Derwen, Denbighshire. The village has a community centre (Canolfan Cae Cymro), a shop (Siop y Fro) and a pub (Glan Llyn) all owned and run by the villagers. Cae Cymro is the name of the field adjoining the community centre, where Clawddnewydd FC play their Llandyrnog and District Summer League home fixtures.The Clawddnewydd telephone exchange in the village used to have its own area code (08245) until numbers were changed and it became part of the new Ruthin area code (01824). The exchange now services Ruthin area numbers beginning 750 (i.e. 01824 750 XXX), which includes the community of Llanelidan the other side of the A494 road.

Llanelidan is a small village and community in the county of Denbighshire in north-east Wales. The community also includes the hamlet of Rhyd-y-Meudwy. The church, village hall and pub all lie within 200 yards of each other overlooking the village cricket ground and pavilion. Also in the village centre is King George's field, this is land legally protected by the Fields in Trust Charity, and is free for use by anyone. Public space in the village includes the Village Green. This is 3 1/2 acres of registered Village Green Denbighshire Commons Register No. VG12 Ancient and semi natural woodland that is a bluebell wood in the spring. It was allotted to be held IN TRUST for the Community of Llanelidan by the Inclosure Awards of 1861 and is for the enjoyment and recreation of members of the Parish. It lies north west of the village along a footpath towards Coed Pen Y Bryn. St Elidan's Church is a Grade II*-listed building in the community of Llanelidan in Denbighshire, Wales.

Nantclwyd railway station was a station near Nantclwyd Hall, Llanelidan, Denbighshire, Wales. The station was opened on 22 September 1864 by the Denbigh, Ruthin and Corwen Railway.The station was host to a LMS caravan from 1934 to 1939.The station closed to passengers on 2 February 1953, and completely on 30 April 1962.The station was demolished in the 1970s and only the approach road exists today.

Clocaenog is a village and community in Denbighshire, north-east Wales. It lies on the outskirts of Ruthin and the Clocaenog Forest. The forest near the village has many walks of varying length and is one of the venues for the Wales Rally GB.

Carrog railway station in Denbighshire, Wales, was formerly a station on the Ruabon to Barmouth line. A camping coach was positioned here by the Western Region from 1956 to 1962. It was to have closed to passengers on Monday 18 January 1965 but closed prematurely on 14 December 1964 due to flood damage. According to the Official Handbook of Stations the following classes of traffic were being handled at this station in 1956: G, P, F, L, H, C but there was no crane.It was reopened in 1996 as part of the preserved Llangollen Railway. It is a passing place on the single line and has a signal box. On re-opening it became the terminus of the preserved line but became an intermediate station with the completion of the extension to Corwen East, in October 2014. Due to engineering works relating to the reopening of Corwen, Carrog again became the terminus of the line in 2019. It regained its intermediate status once again in June 2023 when the new Corwen station opened.

Nantclwyd Hall is a 17th-century Grade II* listed mansion near the village of Llanelidan, Denbighshire, Wales, built by the Parry family, and rebuilt by Eubule Thelwall (c. 1622–95) and his wife Mary Parry, the heiress of the estate.
