Spring Hill Township is one of seven townships in Johnson County, Kansas, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 7,496.

Kansas's 3rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Kansas. Located in eastern Kansas, the district encompasses all of Anderson, Franklin, Johnson and Miami counties and parts of Wyandotte County. The district includes most of the Kansas side of the Kansas City metropolitan area, including all of Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee, Gardner, and Olathe and parts of Kansas City. The 3rd district is represented by Democrat Sharice Davids, who was first elected in 2018, defeating Republican incumbent Kevin Yoder. Reapportionment in 2022 altered the district's boundaries to add Anderson and Franklin counties and the part of Miami County that was not already in the 3rd congressional district. The southern part of Wyandotte County roughly along I-70 stayed in the district, while the area north of I-70 moved to the 2nd congressional district. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+1, it is only Kansas district that is not heavily Republican.

The William Thomas Turner Barn was built in 1898 near Gardner, Kansas, United States. The Turner barn is regarded as an outstanding example of barn construction, built by Arthur J. Clinton, a highly regarded barn builder. The barn has been extensively photographed and has been featured in magazines, greeting cards, calendars and other publications.The barn was built to a high standard of craftsmanship, using red cypress, a durable wood not often used in Kansas. The barn has a limestone foundation. The barn has two levels. The barn measures 62 feet (19 m) wide, 40 feet (12 m) deep and 45 feet (14 m) high overall. It is capped by two large wood ventilators. The interior has two main levels, with a large hayloft on the upper level. The lower level has intersecting corridors running down the center between the facades, with accommodations for 15 horses and three grain bins.The Turner barn's exterior materials and detailing are in a remarkable state of preservation. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1999. The Turner Barn is still owned by the Turner Family and is open to the public.

The Arthur F. McClure Archives and University Museum contains a variety of historical documents and artifacts pertaining to the history of the University of Central Missouri as well as containing other collections that focus on larger histories. The archives and museum serves the University of Central Missouri students as well as the general public. The archives are often frequented by individuals researching genealogy as well as students looking for resources on notable events that occurred during the twentieth century.

Bucyrus is an unincorporated community in Miami County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the community and nearby areas was 171. It is located 6 miles (9.7 km) east-southeast of Spring Hill, and named after Bucyrus, Ohio. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

The Great Mall of the Great Plains was a shopping mall located in Olathe, Kansas, United States. It was the largest outlet mall in the state of Kansas, and boasted over 150 stores and 10 anchors, laid out in a half-mile racetrack pattern. Amenities included indoor glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course, a food court, a Game Zone arcade, and a Dickinson Theatres movie theater with sixteen screens. Great Mall of the Great Plains was owned & managed by Glimcher Properties Trust until January 2009. The mall closed on September 18, 2015, although Burlington Coat Factory remained open. Demolition on the mall began on July 11, 2016, and was finished in January 2017. While developers announced in January 2018 that a redevelopment called Mentum would replace the old mall, this never happened. In October 2021, Olathe-based company Garmin Ltd. indicated that it acquired the property, likely to expand its company's headquarters. Burlington Coat Factory closed at the end of January 2023, leaving the mall without any businesses.
