The Children's Museum of Atlanta (known as "Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta" from 2003 to 2011) is a children's museum located in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1988 as a "Museum Without Walls," the museum opened to the public in 2003. The museum is located Downtown, adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park. The 16,316-square-foot museum, one of four children's museums in Georgia, includes exhibits designed for and geared toward children under the age of nine and hosts field trips from schools and learning centers throughout North Georgia.The Imaginators, the museum's troupe of professional actors, guide field trip groups through the museum, invent fun hands-on activities for children, and create terrific programming, including original and lively 20-minute mini-musicals, which are frequently themed to tie in with the featured traveling exhibit. The Imaginators connect play and learning in a fun way.

The Centennial Olympic Park bombing was a domestic terrorist pipe bombing attack on Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 27, 1996, during the Summer Olympics. The blast directly killed one person and injured 111 others; another person later died of a heart attack. It was the first of four bombings committed by Eric Rudolph. Security guard Richard Jewell discovered the bomb before detonation and began clearing spectators out of the park. After the bombing, Jewell was initially investigated as a suspect by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and news media aggressively focused on him as the presumed culprit when he was actually innocent. In October 1996, the FBI declared Jewell was no longer a person of interest. Following three more bombings in 1997 and 1998, Rudolph was identified by the FBI as the suspect. In 2003, Rudolph was arrested, and in 2005 he agreed to plead guilty to avoid a potential death sentence. Rudolph was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for his crimes.

The Tabernacle is a mid-size concert hall located in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Opening in 1911 as a church, the building was converted into a music venue in 1996. It is owned and managed by concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment and has a capacity of 2,600 people. Since its rebranding, many notable acts performed at the venue, including: Guns N' Roses, Tove Lo, The Black Crowes, Adele, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Robbie Williams, Alice in Chains, Bob Dylan, Prince & The New Power Generation, Lana del Rey, BABYMETAL, and Atlanta's own Mastodon, and Blackberry Smoke. Along with music concerts, the venue also holds many comedy tours annually including Bob Saget, Lisa Lampanelli, Cheech & Chong and Stephen Lynch.

Centennial Olympic Park is a 22-acre (89,000 m2) public park located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, owned and operated by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. It was built by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) as part of the infrastructure improvements for the 1996 Summer Olympics. It plays host to millions of visitors a year and several events, including a summer popular music concert series (Wednesday WindDown) and an annual Independence Day concert and fireworks display.

The World of Coca-Cola is a museum, located in Atlanta, Georgia, showcasing the history of the Coca-Cola Company. The 20-acre (81,000 m2) complex opened to the public on May 24, 2007, relocating from and replacing the original exhibit, which was founded in 1990 in Underground Atlanta. There are various similar World of Coca-Cola stores in locations such as Las Vegas and Disney Springs.

152 Nassau, home to Nassau Street Sessions Recording Studio, was a historic recording studio building in Atlanta, Georgia. The studio recorded blues, jazz, and country musicians in the South beginning in June 1923. Despite the efforts of preservationists and music history aficionados, in 2019, the building was slated to be torn down and replaced by a hotel and restaurant. A Margaritaville Resort is due to open on the site. One of the first commercial recordings by a rural white musician, Fiddlin' John Carson's "The Little Old Log Cabin in the Lane" was recorded in the building on June 19, 1923. Georgia Public Broadcasting reported that it was the first country music hit. Fannie May Goosby's "Grievous Blues" and Lucille Bogan's "The Pawn Shop Blues" were also recorded there, notable as the first rural blues to be recorded. Other artists to record songs at the studio include Eddie Heywood, Sr., and the Morehouse College Quartet. Ralph Peer was one of those involved in the studio. The building was later used as a museum with Gone with the Wind memorabilia.

WTBS-LD, virtual and VHF digital channel 6, is a low-powered television station licensed to Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The station has been owned by Prism Broadcasting since 1991. The station's transmitter and antenna are located in downtown Atlanta atop the American Tower Site located at 315 Chester Avenue, Atlanta. The original WTBS-LD, virtual channel 26 (UHF digital channel 30), was a low-powered Estrella TV-affiliated television station also licensed to Atlanta. The station, which broadcast six subchannels, was a digital satellite of the current WTBS-LD, then known as WTBS-LP. The digital transmitter, which signed on in early January 2011, was, with its sister station WANN-CD, located just northeast of the city on one of the two large towers on Briarcliff Road, at the same site along with Independent station WPCH-TV (channel 17), Univision affiliate WUVG-DT (channel 34), CBS affiliate WGCL-TV (channel 46), TBN affiliate WHSG-TV (channel 63), and several other stations. The original WTBS-LD's license was cancelled by the Federal Communications Commission on March 17, 2021.

WTHC-LD (virtual channel 42 and VHF digital channel 3) is a low-powered independent television station licensed to Atlanta, Georgia, United States. From 1994 to 2007, it was owned and operated by The Atlanta Channel, Inc., which also broadcast the channel into many local hotels. Programming consists almost entirely of recorded information for tourists staying in downtown hotels, although the signal can usually be picked up as far away as Sandy Springs, about ten miles or 15 km away. The station is itself atop Atlanta's most well-known hotel, the Westin Peachtree Plaza, on a mast constructed for WVEU (channel 69, now WUPA), along with other stations. Due to multipath interference as an analog television station, it is now a digital-only station, which also allows a much greater broadcast range on its 7-kilowatt signal (although ATSC is also extremely prone to multipath). It received a digital flash-cut permit in March 2006 and quickly made the switch by very early April, making it one of the first low-powered digital television stations in the country. The station's only active channel (virtual 42.1) uses an SDTV screen resolution of 480i.

The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta, is a skyscraper hotel on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, adjacent to the Peachtree Center complex and the former Davison's/Macy's flagship store with 1,073 rooms. At 723.0 ft (220.37 m) and 73 stories, a total building area of 1,196,240 sq ft (111,134 m2) and a 187 ft (57 m) diameter, the tower is the fourth-tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere, and the 30th tallest all-hotel building in the world.

Walton Spring was a noted resort in early Atlanta, Georgia. It was located in Downtown Atlanta along the northeast side of Walton from the northwest corner of Spring Street (now Ted Turner Drive), running almost up to Cain Street (now Andrew Young International Blvd.). Spring Street was named after the spring, and Walton Street was named after the property owner, a member of Atlanta's first city council, Anderson W. Walton.

The Centennial Park District, formerly the Luckie-Marietta District, is a district of Downtown Atlanta named after the walkable neighborhood and entertainment district that surround Centennial Olympic Park. The district was originally created in 2007 by Legacy Properties, in support of their redevelopment projects in the district. However, "Luckie Marietta" was used by a wide range of Atlanta media to refer to the district. The district was rebranded the Centennial Park District and is now under the management of Central Atlanta Progress.The area was mostly one of industrial and warehouse use (see map) and was in decline after the mid-20th century, even after Centennial Olympic Park was built for the 1996 Olympics. Developer Legacy's stated goals were to create a district within Downtown Atlanta that would contain entertainment, hotel accommodations and restaurants all within walking distance of each other and of the nearby Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Philips Arena, Georgia World Congress Center, CNN Center, World of Coca-Cola and Georgia Aquarium. It would lure visitors to stay, dine, and be entertained near those facilities and attractions instead of in the Peachtree Center area of Downtown or even Buckhead. Whereas a few years prior, few facilities existed in the area, by 2011, the district counted 25 restaurants and 6 hotels, the Ventana events center and a helipad. The area is set to add the College Football Hall of Fame and Times Square South to its roster of attractions. Currently the District is home to a variety of attractions, restaurants and lounges, event spaces, hotels, and office and retail spaces.
