Hoog Soeren

Het Jachthuis Hoog Soeren is a defunct restaurant in Hoog Soeren, Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. It was awarded one Michelin star in 1994 and retained that rating until 2001. The restaurant closed in February 2014, when the lease expired. Owner and head chef cited the high rent, the economic crisis and the lack of Michelin star as reasons to quit, as he deemed exploitation not viable under these circumstances.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16.0 out of 20 points.Head chef of Het Jachthuis Hoog Soeren was Peter-Paul van den Breemen, who took over the restaurant in 2005. Head chef in the Michelin period was Jankees Roggeveen.

The building has the appearance of a hunting lodge and the restaurant specializes in seasonal game dishes, such as venison, boar and fowl. Theus de Kok has led the kitchen since 1974, first as head chef, later as executive chef-maitre. In June 2010, Leendert Scholtus took over the kitchen from Chiel Dohmen. In February 2014, Scholtus announced that he would leave De Echoput to start his own restaurant. His successor will be Peter Paul van den Breemen, former owner and head chef of Het Jachthuis Hoog Soeren, who starts at 1 April.The original restaurant was closed and demolished in 2004. Peter Klosse, son of the founder and owner of the complex since 1985, replaced it with a hotel and restaurant. They celebrated the reopening by winning the International Restaurant Awards category Best New Restaurant of the Year/Luxury Restaurant.

Assel is a hamlet in the municipality of Apeldoorn in the Netherlands, located close to the village of Hoog Soeren. It was first mentioned in 814 or 815 as Hasle. The etymology is unclear. It is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Hoog Soeren. It consists of about 10 houses.Assel is located roughly 12 kilometres west of Apeldoorn. Assel is a hamlet comprising twelve houses, a burial site, a chapel (the chapel of the Holy Spirit), a camping site and a restaurant. In the past Assel was known for iron mining. Assel used to have its own train station. This station was built because prince Hendrik had his private hunting area in Assel, known as the Kroondomein (Crown land). Nowadays Assel does not have access to public transport, although the railway Amersfoort - Deventer runs through the hamlet.

Julianatoren (English: Juliana Tower) is an amusement park which is located in the municipality of Apeldoorn. The park is built around the Queen Juliana Tower, which was built in 1910, and is currently a rijksmonument (listed building). The tower was built next to Het Loo Palace, to celebrate the birth of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands at the palace in 1909. Originally the tower was called Prinses Juliana Toren (Princess Juliana Tower) between 1910 and 1948, with an interval during the Second World War between 1940 and 1945 when it was called Juliana Toren (Juliana Tower). They are 450,000 visitors in 2009.

Apenheul Primate Park is a zoo in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. It specializes in apes and monkeys. It opened in 1971 and was the first zoo in the world where monkeys could walk around freely in the forest and between the visitors. It started with just a few species, now it displays more than 30 different primates, among them bonobo, gorilla and orangutan.

Sportpark Berg & Bos (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈspɔrtpɑr(ə)ɡ ˈbɛr(ə)x ɛm ˈbɔs]), known as Fly Brazil/Desko-stadion for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-use stadium in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of AGOVV Apeldoorn. The stadium is able to hold 3,330 people and was built in 2002.

Berg en Bos is a residential area on a former farm in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn. In this part are Park Berg en Bos with Apenheul and Sportpark Berg en Bos.

Radio Kootwijk is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Apeldoorn. It is situated in a heather and forest rich territory in the Veluwe region, east of the sandhills of the Kootwijkerzand and the town of Kootwijk. Radio Kootwijk has a combined statistical listing with Hoog Soeren, the hamlet consists of about 37 houses. The village is known for its iconic radio transmitter.

Het Oude Loo (Dutch pronunciation: [ɦɛt ˈʌudə loː]; The Old Woods) is a 15th-century castle on the estate of Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. The castle was built as a hunting lodge and is surrounded by a moat. The castle is currently used by the Dutch royal family as a country house and guest residence. It is not open to the public.

The National Canadian Liberation Monument (Dutch language: Nationaal Canadees Bevrijdingsmonument) is a monument for the war in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, honouring the liberation of Holland. It features a sculpture Man with Two Hats by Henk Visch, which is identical to one in Commissioners Park in Ottawa.

De Naald (English: The Needle) is an obelisk-shaped monument at the side of the Zwolseweg road in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn, near Het Loo Palace. It is built of stone and surrounded by a low iron fence.
