The Preemption Line (also spelled Pre-Emption) divided the aboriginal lands of western New York State awarded to New York from those awarded to Commonwealth of Massachusetts by the Treaty of Hartford of 1786. It was defined as the meridian (north–south) line from the eighty-second milestone of the Pennsylvania–New York survey line at 76° 57' 58" W northward to Lake Ontario.

Parrott Hall (formerly known as Denton House, Denton Place and Entomology Hall) is a historic home located at Geneva in Ontario County, New York. It was built in the early 1850s and consists of a 3-story main block and 2-story addition in the Italianate villa style. In 1882, the property was acquired by New York State for use as an agricultural experiment station, and was part of the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station until 1968. It was deeded to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in 1970 for use as a museum.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

The New York State Agricultural Experiment Station (NYSAES) at Geneva, Ontario County, New York State, is an agricultural experiment station operated by the New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. In August 2018, the station was rebranded as Cornell AgriTech, but its official name remains unchanged.The Station is the sixth oldest institution of its kind in the country.

Towar–Ennis Farmhouse and Barn Complex is a historic farm complex located at Lyons in the Wayne County, New York. The contributing elements of the complex include a vernacular Greek Revival style farmhouse, two barns (one with silo), a carriage house, a corncrib, a smoke house, a stone retaining wall, and a hitching post. The farmhouse consists of a two-story, three-bay wide, sidehall plan main block built in 1832, with a 1 1/2 story side wing added in 1852. A rear kitchen wing was added in 1986. The main barn was built in 1852. The complex is representative of rural agrarian farmsteads of the 19th and early-20th centuries in the Finger Lakes Region.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Alloway is a hamlet in the Town of Lyons, Wayne County, New York, United States near the Ontario County line. It is located three miles (5 km) south of the hamlet of Lyons, at an elevation of 433 feet (132 m). The primary cross roads where the hamlet is located are N.Y. Route 14, Alloway Road (CR 339) and Sohn Alloway Road. Alloway was named for Alloa, Scotland, the original home of Captain Henry Towar, who built a gristmill, a sawmill, and two stores in the community.A historic octagonal cobblestone building (built 1832), formerly a blacksmith shop, is located on the corner of Alloway Road and Water Street in the hamlet, just off N.Y. Route 14. There was a land office (built c. 1835), also located in Alloway. It has since been moved to the Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford, near Rochester.Towar–Ennis Farmhouse and Barn Complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Midlakes High School is a public high school in Phelps, Ontario County, New York, and the only high school operated by the Phelps Clifton Springs Central School District. The high school serves all of the town of Phelps and village of Clifton Springs, and portions of the towns of Manchester, Seneca, Geneva, and Hopewell. It is attached to the Midlakes Middle School. The school has around 700 students at around 110 per graduating class. It offers six Advanced Placement courses: Calculus AB, Biology, US History, World History, Language, and Literature.

McDonough Park is a stadium in Geneva, New York. It is primarily used for baseball and was home to the Geneva Cubs. It opened in 1958 with seating for 3,000. The ballpark remains serviceable and plays host to two different teams, the Red Wings of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, and the revived Hobart Statesmen Baseball team. Smith Observatory and Dr. William R. Brooks House is a historic home and observatory located at Geneva in Ontario County, New York. Both structures were built in 1888. The observatory is a small frame building consisting of a two-story tower flanked by two small wings. The tower contains a 10-inch refracting telescope by Warner & Swasey of Cleveland, Ohio. The east wing contains an intact meridian transit telescope and sidereal pendulum clock. The house is a two-story brick dwelling with a broad range of intact, late Victorian eclectic features.Brooks was a Professor of Astronomy at Hobart College, which owned the observatory until the late 20th century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
