The Rocky Mountain Rangers is a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army, one of only four infantry regiments in British Columbia, and the only infantry unit that recruits in Northern BC and much of the Interior. The regimental headquarters are at JR Vicars Armoury in Kamloops, with an additional rifle company in Prince George. The Rocky Mountain Rangers are part of the 3rd Canadian Division's 39 Canadian Brigade Group, the brigade responsible for Canadian Army organization in British Columbia.

CJKC-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 103.1 FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station broadcasts a country format branded as New Country 103.1. The station received approval in 2005 and was launched on August 11, 2006, by local broadcaster NL Broadcasting, the owner of CHNL and CKRV. It was acquired by Newcap Radio in 2017.

CKBZ-FM is a radio station in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Broadcasting at 100.1 FM, the station airs a hot adult contemporary format (per reporting status on Mediabase) branded as B-100. The station is currently owned by the Jim Pattison Group. The station was first launched in 1926 as CFJC 1120 AM, owned by the local N. S. Dalgliesh & Son department store. It was acquired by the Kamloops Sentinel in 1932, and changed frequency the following year to 1310. The station became an affiliate of the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission, a corporate precursor to the CBC, and retained an affiliation with CBC Radio's main network afterward. Its frequency subsequently changed to 800 AM in 1934, 880 in 1935 and 910 in 1941. The Sentinel finally sold the station to Inland Broadcasters in 1957. Sister station CFJC-FM was launched in 1962. CFJC dropped its CBC affiliation in 1977 when the CBC launched CBYK-FM, then a local rebroadcaster of Vancouver's CBU. The station then moved to its final AM frequency, 550, in 1979. CFJC and its FM sister station were acquired by the Jim Pattison Group, their current owner, in 1987. Pattison converted CFJC to its current FM frequency, adult contemporary format and call sign in 2001. By December 2010, the station switched formats to hot adult contemporary, dropping most classic hits from the playlist, and going head-to-head up against rock-leaning CHR/Top 40 station CKRV-FM (which had been hot AC up until 2010). CKBZ-FM had been a reporter on the Mediabase & Nielsen BDS Canadian hot adult contemporary panels before the switch to hot AC. CKBZ-FM was the last adult contemporary station reporter on the Mediabase Canadian hot AC panels, while the only non-hot AC stations on those panels such as CKRV-FM, CHSU-FM and CICF-FM are CHR instead.

CIFM-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 98.3 FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station currently broadcasts an Active rock format branded as 98.3 CIFM. The station was launched in 1962 as CFFM-FM by Inland Broadcasters, and was acquired by the Jim Pattison Group in 1987.

CKRV-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 97.5 FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station broadcasts a classic rock format branded as K 97.5, and prior to 2010, it had a hot adult contemporary format. Even though as a top 40 station, it was still being classified as a hot AC station by Mediabase and Nielsen BDS. CKRV's most recent shift to top 40 was plagued by CKBZ-FM shifting from adult contemporary to hot AC in the late 2000s. The station was launched in 1984 by Hal Yerxa's CFCW Ltd. It was acquired by Newcap Broadcasting in 1989, but was then sold to local broadcaster NL Broadcasting, the owner of AM station CHNL in the city, in 1993. On February 20, 2015, CKRV-FM switched to a variety hits format as 97.5 The River, and adopted a new slogan Kamloops' best variety of the '80s, '90s and WOW, but kept the station's branding. In June 2017, the station was reacquired by Newcap, along with sister stations CHNL and CJKC-FM.In February 2018, CKRV rebranded to K 97.5 and flipped to classic hits. On November 26, 2021, CKRV-FM flipped to classic rock, keeping the K 97.5 branding while changing to a new slogan of "Kamloops' Classic Rock" and changing its programming to match CKKO-FM. The CKRV call sign was also used by an unrelated station in Drummondville (Quebec), which operated at 1400 AM from 1974 to 1980.

Kenna Cartwright Park is a municipal park located in Kamloops, British Columbia. The park was created to preserve one of Kamloops' natural landscapes and views. It is named after the former mayor, Kenna Cartwright. It features over 40 kilometres (25 mi) of hiking trails through grasslands, hills, valleys, and Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir forests.

Hillside Stadium is a multi-purpose, fully lit stadium located next to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. It is the home of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, Kamloops Broncos of the Canadian Junior Football League, and the Kamloops Excel of the Pacific Coast Soccer League. It was a FIFA Recommended 1-Star installation when originally completed, but that has since expired. Besides hosting field events, it has a rubberized 400m running track and facilities for other track and field events. The stadium has aluminum bleachers, with a permanent seating capacity of 1,060. Hillside Stadium hosted the track and field events at the 1993 Canada Summer Games. In addition, there are two additional soccer fields and track and field facilities. As well as the new fieldhouse which includes a 200m indoor track, gymnastics space, multi-function gym, and classrooms. The complex also includes the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.

CFBX-FM 92.5 FM, also known as "The X" , is a campus radio station at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. During the 1980s, CFBX began operations at the university (then called Cariboo College) as a closed-circuit radio station under the name CMMD Radio. CMMD was short for Communications Media, the name of the course that produced and aired the station's content, produced a monthly campus newspaper (the 210 Express) and a weekly in house television news program. At this time CMMD Radio was located in room 210 of the Old Main building and only broadcast to the student lounges and the cafeteria at specific times of the day. This was entirely due to the radio station being run on a volunteer basis by the students enrolled in the Communications Media Program and as a training environment for the course curriculum. Students were given free run of the content and types of music played, as long as it followed the rules and regulations setout by the CRTC. All advertising, station IDs and promos were written and produced by the students, and students were encouraged to go out into the community to gather news and cover community events. Unfortunately by the beginning of the 1990s, the Communications Media Program was dropped and CMMD Radio was off the air. During the early 2000s, CFBX applied to the CRTC for a license for a low-power radio station, which was approved.Following CRTC approval, the station commenced aerial broadcasting on April 2, 2001, at 8:00am. CFBX-FM is a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA).

2010 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships is the fourth in a series of World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships (also called World Masters Athletics Championships Indoor, or WMACi). This fourth edition took place in Kamloops, Canada, from 2 to 7 March 2010. This is the first WMACi to be hosted outside of Europe. The main venue was Tournament Capital Centre Fieldhouse, which has a flat indoor track. Supplemental venues included McArthur Island Park for Cross Country and Race Walk, and Kamloops Golf and Country Club for Half Marathon. This Championships was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC): Judy Armstrong and Bob Cowan. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. A full range of indoor track and field events were held. In addition to indoor competition, non-stadia events included Half Marathon, 8K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk, Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw.

The Tournament Capital Centre is a facility next to Thompson Rivers University's campus. It hosts the Thompson Rivers WolfPack Basketball games. "The Fieldhouse consists of an indoor 6 lane, 200 metre track surrounding three NBA size basketball courts and seating for 2,200." Tournament Capital Centre

Aberdeen is a neighbourhood in the southern area of Kamloops, British Columbia. It is bordered by Highway 5A (known as the Old Merritt highway) to the east and the Trans Canada Highway to the north. Located on the slope of the southern hills overlooking Kamloops, Aberdeen overlooks the city and surrounding Thompson River valley from the south. The neighbourhood gets its name John Hamilton-Gordon, seventh Earl of Aberdeen, Governor General of Canada from 1893 to 1898. He visited Kamloops in November 1894.

Kamloops Chinese Cemetery is a burial ground for Chinese living in or near Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. It opened in the 1880s.The cemetery was created as the town's cemeteries would not accept Asians for burial.While the cemetery is still open, the Chinatown in Kamloops it served has disappeared; it is the only surviving historic site from that community.Other than the gazebo and newer commemorative plaques, the grave markers are made of wood.
